Services
Pet Examination
Our comprehensive nose-to-tail examinations detect early health issues and establish baseline metrics for your pet's wellbeing. Annual checkups include dental assessments, weight management guidance, and parasite screenings. Our veterinarians perform detailed physical evaluations covering cardiovascular, respiratory, and musculoskeletal systems while discussing behavioral and dietary concerns with owners.
Dental Cleaning
Professional dental prophylaxis prevents periodontal disease through ultrasonic scaling and polishing under anesthesia. We address gingivitis, tartar buildup, and oral infections while providing home care education. Pre-anesthetic bloodwork ensures patient safety during procedures that typically last 45-60 minutes.
Vaccinations
Core and elective vaccination protocols protect against common infectious diseases following AAHA guidelines. Puppies/kittens receive series vaccinations starting at 8 weeks, with adult boosters every 1-3 years. We maintain detailed records and provide rabies certificates for legal compliance.
Emergency Services
Critical care for trauma, poisoning, and acute illness during regular hours with referrals to 24/7 specialty centers after hours. Our team stabilizes patients through IV fluids, pain management, and diagnostic imaging while maintaining communication with pet owners throughout treatment.
Neutering/Spaying
Surgical sterilization procedures prevent overpopulation and improve long-term health outcomes. We perform pre-anesthetic evaluations and offer pain management protocols for procedures typically conducted on patients 8 weeks+ old. Post-operative care includes activity restrictions and suture monitoring.

Our family is new to Salinas, and we initiated service with AHS for our two dogs. The care and customer service was excellent. However, today one of my dogs has a concerning symptom, and I was told that there are no openings, even for emergencies, for the rest of the month (at least the next 2 1/2 weeks). The emergency vets in the area are also full. My experience, therefore, is that AHS is good for routine, scheduled care, but is not able to provide care when emergencies come up.

I love this Animal Hospital - the Doc was AWESOME explained everything and was super nice and gentle with my big baby German Shepherd. The staff also are excellent and very caring. Never felt like just a client. I was able to go in the exam room with my dog and she is all caught up on everything.

Was a 5 star worthy a few years ago. Now over booked(3+ weeks out on multiple occasions), pain to get on the phone and just to pick up a prescription can be a headache. I'd like to keep my 15 year old dog here to have a familiar setting until the end. But really debating switching. I have a new puppy, I went with services at another vet. I wouldn't recommend this vet office anymore.
