Preventative Care
Our preventative care services focus on annual exams, vaccinations, and parasite control to maintain pet health. We recommend yearly checkups to monitor heart and lung function, joint health, and vision. Vaccination schedules are tailored to each pet's species and breed, including rabies, DHPP for dogs, and FVRCP for cats. We emphasize parasite prevention through regular testing and medication, offering guidance on nutrition and weight management to reduce risks of diabetes and arthritis. Our team educates owners on proper care practices to ensure long-term wellness.
Diagnostic Care
We utilize advanced diagnostic tools including digital radiography, ultrasound, and in-house lab testing. Our Idexx blood testing system provides rapid results for quicker diagnosis. We perform echocardiograms for heart conditions, endoscopy for gastrointestinal issues, and urinalysis for kidney health. These services help identify underlying conditions like pancreatitis, intestinal cancer, and organ dysfunction. Our diagnostic capabilities enable accurate treatment planning and early detection of potential health problems, ensuring timely intervention for better outcomes.
Pain Management
We offer comprehensive pain management solutions for acute and chronic conditions. Treatment options include medication, cold compression, and massage therapy for immediate relief. Chronic pain management addresses osteoarthritis and age-related issues through tailored medication plans and non-pharmaceutical approaches. Our team works to identify pain sources quickly while focusing on long-term comfort. We educate owners on recognizing pain indicators like limping and behavioral changes, ensuring pets maintain quality of life through personalized care strategies.
Senior Pet Care
Our senior pet care includes bi-annual exams with comprehensive physical and oral evaluations. We perform regular bloodwork, thyroid screening, and biochemistry profiles for early disease detection. Diagnostic imaging helps identify arthritis, organ failure, or injuries in aging pets. Our team provides specialized nutrition guidance and weight management plans to address age-related needs. We emphasize preventative care through twice-yearly checkups, ensuring senior pets receive tailored treatment for conditions affecting their quality of life.
Surgery
We perform various surgical procedures including soft tissue, orthopedic, and spay/neuter operations. Our facility maintains stringent surgical protocols for patient safety. Soft tissue surgeries address hernias, tumor removal, and internal issues. Orthopedic procedures treat ligament repairs and joint problems, with board-certified surgeons available for complex cases. Spay/neuter operations are performed with minimal recovery time. Post-operative care includes pain management and follow-up appointments to ensure proper healing and recovery for all surgical patients.

This was my first visit to Olde Towne. From start to finish I was very pleased. The new patient process, first appointment with Dr. Macmillan, the boarding accommodations, all went very smoothly. The staff concern and care for Ziggy (80 pound rescue dog) was evident at all times.

This is a long overdue of the finest veterinarian that I have ever known. His office is organized and impeccable. His staff is thoughtful and attentive. Most importantly, he is one of the smartest and kindest doctors that I have ever met. Just incredible. I wish I could clone him for all over owners!

I took my dog here while visiting Montauk when he showed signs of an ear infection. I was lucky to get an appointment the same day and the staff was amazing-they were kind, thorough, gentle, and professional, and treated my pup like they had known him for years. I highly recommend!

Our family has been a client of Olde Towne Animal Hospital for 23 years. Recently, Dr. Macmillan provided wonderful care to our senior mini dachshund, Dixie, who had a number of tricky health issues prior to passing at 16 years old. She is now caring for our 2 new mini dachshund puppies. We love Dr. Macmillan -- she is extremely professional, diligent and thorough in her assessments, direct and kind.
The entire staff at Olde Towne is wonderful -- very supportive and responsive whenever I reach out to them. We are very appreciative of the excellent care they have given to our family throughout the years.

The only vet within an hour of me that had compassion on the fact that my dog was sick and I had no vet to go to. They took me immediately and took such good care of my little girl. I wouldn't go anywhere else.not even around the corner. I would rather drive to the caring staff I met knowing my pets will be loved and well cared for.

My two dogs, Delta & Jet, now 10 years old, have all their lives been getting their veterinarian care at Olde Towne Animal Hospital. The doctors and staff are compassionate, friendly, knowledgeable, and gentle with my little companions. Once they expertly and calmly handled an accidental poisoning. They are always on call and are there when you really need them. They get nothing but the highest recommendation from us.

I highly recommend this practice. I have brought my dogs and cat for several years both for routine care and when emergency care was needed. The doctors are extremely competent, non-judgmental, and compassionate. The staff are friendly and responsive. The office runs smoothly and efficiently, and prices are reasonable.
