Services
Annual Examinations
Our proactive wellness exams include comprehensive physical assessments, vaccine protocols, senior care planning, and nutrition guidance. Following AAFP guidelines, we recommend annual checkups for cats under seven and biannual visits for senior felines. These appointments allow thorough health monitoring and early disease detection through physical exams and bloodwork options.
Boarding Services
Our cat retreat offers secure overnight boarding for established clients. Requirements include recent exams, vaccination compliance, and health certifications. We provide specialized care for diabetic and aggressive cats with prior approval. Our facility maintains strict health protocols while offering comfortable accommodations in a cat-centric environment designed to minimize stress during stays.
Diagnostics
Advanced diagnostic capabilities enable precise internal organ assessment through digital radiography and laboratory testing. Our on-site facilities support rapid analysis of bloodwork, urinalysis, and fecal exams. This technology allows timely diagnosis and treatment planning for acute and chronic conditions, supporting our goal of maintaining long-term feline health through evidence-based medicine.
Cat Grooming
Professional grooming services address breed-specific needs with options including lion cuts (under sedation), de-matting, nail trims, and ear cleaning. Our trained technicians use gentle handling techniques to minimize stress while maintaining coat health. Regular grooming appointments help prevent skin conditions and provide opportunities for early detection of physical abnormalities.
Surgical Services
We perform routine and complex surgical procedures with comprehensive pre-anesthetic evaluations and pain management plans. Our surgical suite supports spays/neuters, soft tissue surgeries, and dental procedures requiring anesthesia. For specialized cases, we collaborate with board-certified surgeons while maintaining continuity of care through our facility's post-operative monitoring capabilities.

A clean, quiet office put my mind at ease. The staff was absolutely lovely, and the vet followed up with me personally about my cat's test results. I can't say enough about what a great experience it was.

Great cat vet with nice facilities, attentive and helpful vets and techs, and typical prices! They helped us with a solution for bringing our ornery cat to the vet which would normally end in lots of scratches, blood, and a very angry cat. Now we won't have to dread it so much and he'll get better care as a result. Kudos!

Dr. Summers is a good veterinarian. He was able to resolved the infection that the female cat developed in one of her ears due to scratching. He did not use a collar either which makes cats crazy. Clean and a friendly clinic, with reasonable prices.

I have been taking my two cats here for almost 8 years. These folks are top notch. They were very nice when we recently had to assist my oldest cat in passing on. I would highly recommend them.

Reasonably priced for the great care my kitties receive here. My cats definitely are more at ease during visits since there aren't dogs and other animals-they also schedule appointments so you aren't sitting in a waiting room full of other people and pets as well which is nice! I started bringing my oldest kitty here when I got him 7 years ago but stopped temporarily after moving back to my hometown. Thankful to be back in the area and also bringing my younger kitty here now too.

I can't give Scratching Post and Dr. Summers enough praise. I haven't had my cat very long and he suddenly seemed to become blind. They were able to fit me in same day to assess, send labs, provide me with multiple plans and options to get to the bottom of it. I've been an absolute emotional mess and I can truly say that Dr. Summers has been able to take so much stress off of me by seeing my cat twice in 2 days to make sure we do everything to potentially save my cat's eye sight. They truly seem to care about their patients, both the animals and the owners.

This is the best cat hospital that I know of. The DVM here is the most knowledgeable and kind vet I've taken my cats to. When I first arrived in Ohio my cat became sick. I took him to many different vets in the area before I came to Scratching Post. Doctor Summers was able to diagnose my cat with a very rare form of cancer. Although my cat didn't survive, Dr Summers was able to provide us the care that extended his life a few extra months. Dr Summers is a very compassionate man, and it was comforting to know my cat was in good hands right up to the end. For me, there is no other place I would take my cats to for their care.
