Many of us have become frustrated with the limits of conventional veterinary care. Our pets are frequently afflicted with the same chronic, debilitating diseases that we are - cancer, arthritis, allergies, asthma, skin diseases, diabetes, gastrointestinal problems, disc disease, etc., and to a great extent traditional medicine does not seem to be able to help. It is Dr. Fallek's opinion that animals have the natural ability to heal themselves and it's the physician's duty to facilitate the healer within.

My love of animals began when I was very very young. However, initially my education and studies drew me in a different direction. I always had a very inquiring mind and following my pursuit of knowledge and truth, I ended up with a degree in philosophy. This has served me well in my life and my life's work, as I learned to think for myself, to question the accepted norms and to listen and trust my inner voice. As I became a vegetarian when I was 17, I learned the difference between health and dis-ease.

Oftentimes, our pet's disease is wholly or partly due to severe nutritional deficiencies. We have learned that what we eat is central to our health and well-being, and so it is for animals. I was very much taken by a lecture given by a colleague of mine on some differences she found between wild animals and our domesticated friends.
