Dougherty Veterinary Clinics We will be doing all appointments in clinic. Masks are optional for clients and DVC employees. If you are here for an appointment, medication or food pickup, you do not need to call, please come into the building. The Blue Pearl Emergency Clinic at 2314 W Michigan Street will be closed Tuesday evenings due to staffing shortages. We will be taking emergency call for our clients.

You can call 218-576-5341 to talk with one of our Veterinarians. Any emergencies outside of 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday should go to the Emergency Clinic at 2314 W Michigan St, Duluth 218-302-8000.

Dr Tom Dougherty started our practice in 1971 after he had completed an internship in surgery at Auburn University Veterinary School and a residency in surgery at the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School. Dougherty Veterinary was, and still is, dedicated to caring, knowledgeable, and open client informed treatment of companion animals.

The Dougherty Veterinary accepts payment via cash, check, Care Credit, MasterCard, Visa and American Express. So that we can continue to provide you high quality service utilizing the best medical technologies, we request that payment be made at the time services are rendered. We provide estimates for all surgeries and hospitalizations. If you have not received an estimate, you are welcome to request one at any time for your expected charges.

2. We accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express) checks and cash. All cards must be signed by the owner of the card. 3. When the unexpected illness strikes a pet, unexpected expense strikes as well. We understand this and are able to make special arrangements through the CareCredit program.
