The large animal section of our practice provides veterinary services to Equine, Sheep, Goat and Bovine owners within a thirty-mile radius of South Deerfield.Check out our Services page to find out more. Employment Openings: Currently we have an opening for a Full Time Veterinarian postition, mixed practice preferred but, will consider a small animal veterinarian.

The South Deerfield Veterinary Clinic was established in 1973 with the intent of providing quality veterinary care for both small and large animals in the western Massachusetts area. Dr Clay purchased the practice in 2021. She grew up in Western Mass and was active with the Mass 4-H equine program as a youth.

The large animal portion of this practice provides veterinary services to Equine Owners within a thirty-mile radius of South Deerfield. Equine services have become more specialized in the fields of radiology, ultrasound, pre-purchases exams and dentistry. We have made a concerted effort to provide the best care in these areas.

We request that appointments for small and large animals be made by directly contacting the office at (413) 665-3626. Urgent messages may be left with our answering service after hours. Please stay on the line until the answering service pickups to speak to you. Payment is expected at the time of service.
Emergency Coverage

Small animal emergencies during regular business hours are handled by contacting the office at (413) 665-3626. For All Large Animal Emergencies after-hours call our phone number (413)665-3626 the answering service will contact our doctor who is on evening coverage. Please stay on the line until the Anwering Service picks up and speaks to you. On Weekends if we are not on Area Coverage, the Answering Service will advise you what clinic is on call for the Weekend and refer you to them.
