A pet 7 years old or older qualifies as a senior. And, since pets age approximately 7 years for every 1 year of human life, significant changes in health can occur in as little as 3 to 6 months. Even if your pet is in good health at age 7, it is important to develop a health care plan to help you enjoy many more years with your beloved pet.

DO NOT go to this hospital if you care your pets! I had a month long "treatment" (3 visits) to this animal hospital just to find out this place was completely a waste of my time and money (especially Dr Milan). Let me explain you why: April 28th. I found a spot of hair loss and some red area around my cat's neck. The doctor just checked her red spot WITHOUT ANY LAB TEST and concluded that it was bug bites irritation, so I was prescribed 6 months of Revolution drop for $139 (now that I think of it, 6 months of drops are very OVERSELL) and "call us if it gets worse".

May 11th. The hair loss of my cat got worse, accompanied by dandruff and skin peeling. This time Dr Milan took us. Because I mentioned the fact that I had a rush break out myself as well, and I have been trying antifungal shampoo and spray on the cat, she then sold us "stronger" antifungal shampoo and spray. She did mention that we could do fungus culture to find out what it was, but since it took 3 weeks to get the result, I rejected it.

I didn't want to wait for 3 weeks to treat my cat properly. This trip cost me $128. Later I learned that there is relatively cheaper microscope check through which you will get result right away, but Dr Milan never mentioned it. Jun 2nd. During almost about a month of treatment, the skin condition of my cat just keeps getting worse. I finally decided to stop following Dr Milan's treatment.

I did some research online, consulted my vet friend, changed cat food due to possible allergy, and switch to another spray which actually worked. However, I was met by Dr Milan's attitude that the spray that I bought and actually worked was just saline water, it was a "waste of money" (her word) and the food I switched to (blue buffalo) is "the worst that any vet would not recommend".

Then she started to sell the 3 weeks fungus culture even though the result can come negative due to over a month of fungal treatment. I rejected it since I really don't see the point of this, then I was told Dr. Milan had an emergency visit that she had to go. It was an overall very disappointing experience. Seems like they avoided every cheap and quick possible way to keep you going back to spend more money.

I am writing this more because that my poor cat went through over a month of futile treatment. I hope people really think twice before they choose this place. In the end, the sassy attitude and bad owner shaming was really unnecessary and very unprofessional.

Let me start with the only positives: The young technicians are superb aides, they are meticulous and care about the animals. They were more helpful than Dr. Milan. But more on that in a second. We have taken in our kitty a total of 3 times for her skin condition. First visit we were told it was a bug bite and given medication. Second visit my wife and i concluded that it was ringworm and took her in and were told that "it could be", no tests were done, we were offered by them to run culture, but through our research we had already bought a few of the items needed to treat our cat.

We were simply sold a shampoo and no other concrete treatment was done by them. Our cats condition kept deteriorating until we switched treatment (through our research), that is different from what they prescribed, and this is when we saw an improvement in our cats condition. My wife took her in for the third time, and was met by displeased faces and attitude upon informing them that we switched her treatment.

Our problem wasn't solved by them, and when we mentioned the steps that has led our cat feeling better, it was met by negative comments and more attitude. This was when the Dr tried to keep telling us to do the culture even though "it might come out negative due to the ringworm treatment that has been done". First we were sold a bottle of spray that the amount was supposed to last 6 months, second we were sold another spray and shampoo (after being commented that there are better sprays than the one we used) and third time we were persuaded to do culture for fungus.

We kept on spending money on the products they sold us without seeing any concrete improvement on our cat. It just seems like a money grab and a game of "lets see what works" without any testing or serious checkup such as microscope testing or other forms of conclusive tests being done on the pet. The young staff provided us with a list of tests we could do, the prices and the places that provide the tests. They were very nice with our cat, and seemed genuinely interested in helping. Please think twice before taking your pet here. Very disappointed.

I've gone to them 3 times, all emergencies and had them ignore me or act as though I'm trying to rob them and force me out of the door. Last time was January and I had a pregnant kitty. Worst animal clinic ever. How do you report clinics? So they have a board?

Wilcrest Animal Hospital is the best. The staff was so friendly. Our sweet Ollie (Cat) was so nervous to go in for his appointment and they were so patient with Ollie. They were very good at communicating what they were doing and how to care for him. The answered all my questions and were very professional. I would recommend Wilcrest Animal Hospital if you want the best service and care for your fur family.

They saw my dog 5/2021 & I paid for the Occult Heartworm test, in order to get a prescription for my dog's heartworm med. The test is good for a year. I placed an order on-line for the med. When the provider called to check the prescription, Wilcrest Animal Hospital declined to fill it & told them that they had no record of my dog! Thinking it was a simple misunderstanding, I called WAH. Nope, they are refusing to fill it & made my status "inactive" because I asked them to quit sending me emails & text messages. I paid for a test, & they are refusing to approve the med?!?!? Is this even legal? This place is one giant money grab.

This picture may not seem like a lot, but when I first adopted my sweet Ranger in June 2021 he was diagnosed with heart worms. Since he's been going through treatment with Dr. M. Wise over the past few months, finally as of November 1 he was able to meet his very first friend. That is everything for me she saved my sweet boys life, there's no price on that.

I refuse to take my pets anywhere else. The people working here genuinely care for your pet. They were extremely patient with my very scared=aggressive dog throughout his visits here, until his final days came. they will now be taking care of my new puppy throughout her life as well. I can't say enough good this place, They are truly equipped for what they do & with the added bonus of truly caring people here!

I have lived and worked there. The best people you can have take care your pets. The crew working is family. They not only took care of my dog when I first got her but also took care of me when I had to put her down. Christi and Val were my mentors when I worked there going through college. The procedures and operations work great. Every pet is treated as if they are their own no matter the risk or award. Thank you Dr Milam and Dr. Wise. There is no other place I would take my pet too. love you guys and gals keep doing a great job.

I have taken my animals here for many years. I used to live close by, but moved across town. I have vets really near where I live, but will not even consider changing vets! Wilcrest Animal Hospital is the absolute best!! The staff is great, supportive, and knowledgeable. The vets treat your babies like members of their families.

We had been looking for a new vet for our 2 cats, and even though we liked our current vet, we just felt it was time to find someone new. One of our cats is currently a patient at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists. We asked our vets there for a recommendation and they immediately recommended Dr. Milan at the Wilcrest Animal Hospital. A further recommendation came from a friend who is a longtime client of Dr. Milan's.

The staff was very friendly, from the front desk to the great techs. Dr. Milan was just wonderful and gave our cat a full examination while answering our many questions. She is exactly the vet we were looking for! We also got a tour of the facility which was far larger and more impressive than we had anticipated. Our cats have found a new home and we could not be happier!

Wilcrest Animal Hospital is the best! I kennel my sensitive, diva senior cats with confidence knowing they'll get the best care. It means the world to me that my fur family is in such good hands. Dr. Milan provides excellent wellness care for my girls. Many thanks to Dr. Milan, the caring vet techs and office staff for being there with compassion and experience.

I've always said that the Vets here at Wilcrest Animal Hospital are excellent. They are. Both Dr. Milan and Dr Wise are phenomonal listeners and give wonderful compassionate care. But that's not what makes this place special. When was the last time you called up any medical clinic and they knew you by name or even voice? Wilcrest's staff is like that.. the most phenomonal caring group of staffers I have ever seen.

I drive 10 miles each way twice a day to take my Westie there because I know she will get the best care there is with vets and staff who would do anything for her. I encourage everyone else to do the same.
