We've added two neurologists and a dermatologist to our team of board-certified veterinary specialists to make sure we have the resources to care for pets when they need it most. Now local veterinary teams can refer patients online! Our veterinary portal is a simple way to refer patients to our emergency and specialty teams and stay up-to-date on their status. It's not often you find so many board-certified doctors in one place, and all of them are dedicated to helping Oregon's animals, pets and the people who love them.

DoveLewis was originally founded to support local veterinarians and animals in need of emergency care and now treats nearly 30,000 animals each year. Our namesake was a lover of animals and an advocate of the human animal bond. We are proud to honor her legacy every day as we treat more animals than ever before in our 48 years. DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital was founded in 1973 by Mr. A.B. Lewis, in cooperation with the Portland Veterinary Medical Association, and in memory of Mr. Lewis' late wife, Dove.

Explore the resources we have available and information that could make your experience at our veterinary ER as comfortable as possible. A third-party team of veterinary technicians will complete a phone evaluation for your pet and discuss options with you before you head to the ER. Our team of essential workers and caregivers works 24-hours a day, 365 days per year.
