Dr. Foss knew from an early age that he wanted to take care of animals. Born in Arizona, he moved to Idaho to complete his undergrad education at U of I and then earned his doctorate from Washington State University Veterinary College. He eventually moved to the gorge and built the Hood River Alpine Veterinary Hospital.

We recommend yearly wellness exams for the same reason your doctor recommends them - if you can detect a problem in its early stages, it's more likely to be treated and resolved with less expense, less difficulty and better success. As the saying goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
