Surgical
Report
Orthopedic surgery is regularly performed at the hospital. The most common orthopedic procedure performed is arthroscopy where two small incisions are made into the joint and using a scope (arthroscope) to view the interior of the joint, bone fragments can be removed. Repair of fractured bones is also performed at the hospital.
Medical
Report
Equine internal medicine deals with the prevention, diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of a variety of diseases in adult and pediatric patients. Most commonly these diseases involve the respiratory, digestive or neurologic system but also include cardiac, endocrine, kidney and liver disease. We have dedicated intensive care stalls, neonatal stalls, sling stall for neurologic for recumbent horses and an isolation barn to allow for the hospitalization of patients.The care of all our patients is supported 24/7 by a veterinary team, with additional staff added during foaling season when we have a higher volume of hospitalized and critical patients.
Diagnostic
Report
Our in-house laboratory is equipped with the Idexx Catalyst Dx and Idexx ProCyte. These instruments perform chemistry panels and complete blood counts, respectively. Results can be available within 20 minutes after the blood is drawn, depending on the type of blood sample obtained. The chemistry panel assesses liver and kidney function, and electrolyte concentrations can be included if needed.

The Class IV therapeutic laser has proven to be an exceptional aid in the treatment of sore muscles, soft tissue injuries (such as strained ligaments, tendons, and lacerations) as well as intra-operative and post operative care. The penetrating infrared laser provides energy at a specific wavelength and power.
