Pet Adoption
Our adoption program provides rescued animals with medical care, behavioral assessments, and permanent homes. Services include spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchipping. Adopters receive a free veterinary exam at AAA Animal Hospital. We prioritize matching pets with compatible families through our Meet Your Match program.
Spay/Neuter Services
We offer spay/neuter procedures for adopted pets to promote animal health and reduce overpopulation. These services are included in adoption fees and performed by licensed veterinarians. Post-operative care and follow-up appointments are part of our adoption package.
Vaccinations
All adopted pets receive core vaccinations to ensure public and animal health safety. Vaccination records are provided to adopters, and schedules are maintained for ongoing protection. This service is included in our adoption fees.
Microchipping
We provide microchip implantation and registration for permanent pet identification. This service ensures lost pets can be reunited with owners. Microchipping is included in all adoption packages.
Pet Surrender Program
We accept owner-surrendered pets from Garden Grove residents with proof of residency. A $300 fee covers intake costs. Pets undergo health assessments before adoption preparation. We prioritize space for local animals through this program.

My parents found a stray dog and decided to take her into our home and get her vaccinated while trying to figure out who the owners were. After a couple of months of failed attempts, they had no choice but to give her up. They went to OCHS and the Caucasian lady with arm tattoos was extremely rude to my parents. After prompting them with questions, which they answered, she told them to take the dog to the shelter.
My dad said he didn't want to take the dog to the shelter in fear that they would euthanize her, to which the lady replied "Take that as a lesson learned". After that callous and snarky remark, my dad commented on her rudeness and lack of customer service. She then stated that she couldn't take the dog in anyway because they were at full capacity. My thinking is if that were the case, why ask a barrage of questions and waste my parents time if the answer was going to be no in the first place? Overall, the experience was far from pleasant - I'm disappointed in the way my parents were treated and spoken to. I hope OCHS will be able to address and improve on their customer service skills.

These people wouldn't know the words "CUSTOMER SERVICE " if it bit them in the face! The lady with long black hair was rude, less than helpful and told us that if we wanted to adopt a dog we should have read the instructions on the front door. She insisted we had to go to their website for any information. The website was extremely difficult to navigate so I called to ask a couple of questions and she refused to help me and referred back to there website. Shame on the City Grove for contracting with this facility. My heart breaks for all the animals that end up there
