Services
Wellness Care
Our comprehensive wellness program includes annual nose-to-tail exams for early disease detection. We provide vaccination schedules tailored to your pet's lifestyle and age, along with parasite prevention and screening. Specialized care extends to puppy/kitten evaluations and senior pet monitoring with bi-annual checkups. Our preventative approach helps avoid costly treatments through early intervention while maintaining detailed medical records for continuity of care.
Dental Care
We offer complete dental services addressing periodontal disease prevention and treatment. Our cleaning procedures remove plaque buildup before it affects internal organs, while advanced cases receive extractions and oral surgery. The practice emphasizes education about halitosis as an early warning sign and provides post-operative care instructions. Regular cleanings prolong pet lifespan by preventing systemic bacterial spread from infected gums.
Surgery
Our surgical suite handles soft tissue procedures including spay/neuter, tumor removal, and emergency interventions. Advanced equipment supports lumpectomies, splenectomies, and enucleations with strict pain management protocols. Technicians monitor anesthesia and provide post-operative recovery care. The team explains all treatment options and surgical necessity while maintaining 24/7 availability for urgent cases during business hours.
Cold Laser Therapy
This non-invasive therapy accelerates healing for acute injuries and chronic conditions like arthritis. We use Class IV laser technology to reduce inflammation and pain without medication side effects. Treatment benefits include faster recovery from surgeries, improved joint mobility, and enhanced healing of musculoskeletal injuries. Sessions are integrated with traditional treatments for optimal outcomes.
Urgent Care
While not operating 24/7, we prioritize urgent cases during regular business hours. Our team handles trauma, poisoning, and sudden illness symptoms with rapid diagnostics and stabilization. The practice provides clear guidance for after-hours emergencies through referral partnerships. Urgent care patients receive immediate attention while maintaining scheduled appointments.

Dr Leggieri is amazing, I couldn't ask for a better doctor for my pet. My dog needed surgery, Dr Leggieri listened to my concerns and past issues, worked on a customized treatment plan and followed up with us even over the weekend to be sure my dog is getting the best care. I really appreciate everything and for allowing me to be calm leaving my dog with someone who truly cares about him.

*Update* They are actively now fixing the system to have check-ins be smoother. Vetinary work is really good, just a very high demand office so there are often delays. Better pricing than Broadway vet.

Excellent response time from front staff, and a great experience once we were able to get scheduled. Limited p dedicated arking (two spots out front), but street parking all around, and a short walk once off the main road in Rockridge. The staff are friendly, efficient, and patient when it comes to pet handling - or any questions from a first-time owner! Highly recommend Claremont as the place to go for your pet needs!

This is a great place to take your pets. I started taking my two cats to CVH during the pandemic and my rascals have received excellent and compassionate care for a variety of issues--routine things like dental cleanings as well as injuries (swallowing a foxtail). Dr. McDonald is knowledgeable and compassionate. She answers all my questions (and I ask a lot of questions!). They also try to get you in quickly for urgent care situations. These are ethical vets who would never overcharge you or run unnecessary tests to make money. Hats off to all the vets and staff who have kept the clinic going during extraordinary circumstances!
