Northside Veterinary Hospital 1st opened for business in 1952, the day after the founder Dr. Joseph A. Verschueren graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University. For many years, Dr. Verschueren divided his days between meat inspection, farm calls for huge animals, and tiny animal medicine.
