Welcome to Hickory Ridge Animal Hospital, situated in the middle of Columbia, Maryland. We have been here since 1981 serving the veterinary requirements of Columbia's dogs, cats and other tiny pets. Our 2000 square foot animal hospital, nestled on a quiet wooded acre, houses the best in diagnostic and treatment equipment, including laboratory, radiology and a well equipped surgery facility.



I'm a graduate of the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and have gained certification in animal acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in Reddick, Fl. I studied Reiki with master teacher Edward Fox while in veterinary school.


Dr. Sanderson became an animal healer graduating from the University of Minnesota in Veterinary Medicine in 1984. He is a certified Veterinary Acupuncturist, has completed NAET training and is a member of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association, American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncturists, the AVMA and AAHA.
