These vets and staff have taken great lengths to provide top notch care for our 3 dogs. Onsiderate, caring, professional and very straight forward. Plus I see anytime I am there that they attend to so many different species of pets. They ARE the best!

I've had pets my entire life so I've been to many vets. Suburban Animal Hospital is the most caring, kind and honest vet in have been to yet, that's why I've had them since I moved back home in 2015. Kudos to them all!

We had a very nervous cat & another at home. The friendly staff & vet, Dr. Jason Sitkarovski, went above & beyond to make our cat & us feel less stressed. They also gave us advice on how to get our other cat to them without trauma. The office is very clean and well organized.

This place is simply the best. What I like is that they take care of the humans as well as the animals. The architecture hides a nice break picnic area, assumably for staff, they also have treats for the animals and treats for guests. I like it. When out elderly kitty had to go, they were amazing. The ashes came with love and even calls to make sure we where dealing. A+ mazing app gold stars in my book.

Dr. Fisher is an amazing, kind and very knowledgeable veterinarian. This practice offers just about everything for every small animal. The technicians are all great too! I took off a star for the office staff which can be hit or miss, but I think most offices are that way these days. Highly recommended.

They're so nice and helpful! We took our syrian hamster here several times as he was getting older and they were able to check him out and give him some arthritis medicine to make him more comfortable. They've also been helpful planning what to do when our little guy passes away. Would recommend this hospital if any kind of pet needs help!

My regular vet couldn't get me in when a snapping turtle took off the end of my dogs tail. Suburban had me in right away and took care of the problem. Great follow up care and reasonable prices for the surgery. Great thanks to the great folks there!

Our dog Auggie recently had an emergency and the staff at Suburban helped us navigate the situation. Dr. Fisher was amazing. We cannot thank her enough! She helped get to the root cause of the issue enabling us to get Auggie to emergency for care that ultimately saved his life. She showed the utmost compassion and worked with us to get him the needed treatment.

To all of the staff and doctors at Suburban, we thank you for the support and quality care you provide every time we are there! Auggie is happy and excited to see you when we arrive and he remembers the love and support you showed him when he was very sick. We will always bring our pets to Suburban!

I have nothing but great things to say about this office! My animals are my children, and I want nothing but the best care for them. Dr. McKinney was a godsend to my ferret Benson after he was wrongly diagnosed with Lymphoma by his previous vet. I spent a month thinking I was going to lose him, that's when I called Suburban, knowing they care for exotic animals.

He took the time to give Benson an X-ray and a tissue sample of his lymph nodes. The results were back in 4-5 days and he left a detailed message about what the biopsy entailed. I can't thank him enough for what he has done. I feel like a can breathe now, and a huge weight has been lifted. This office is just amazing and I would recommend it to anyone!

I can't say enough wonderful things about this facility! The animal care assistant we had today was very kind and she handled my chameleon very gently. Dr. McKinney took the time to answer all of my questions and gave her a thorough exam. It's very comforting to know that all of my reptiles have such a compassionate, knowledgable vet! Everyone at the front desk was also super nice! Thank you, Suburban Animal Hospital

I wish I could keep bringing my pets to Dr. Chris McKinney, but the amount of time you spend in the parking lot is ridiculous and the staff that answers the phone are hot and cold depending on what mood they're in. In my experience it was mostly bad moods.

They over book and take forever to process payments. I had an appointment at 6:10 and at 8 pm I'm still sitting in a car waiting.

This place is SHIT! Don't go there- especially is Emily is on phone or desk. She is rude, won't work with people, will say "our phone lines were down so I don't know who gave you an appointment". Except for I did have an appointment and I wasted a whole day to have my pet seen. She needs to be fired. NOW. This place is supposed to care for animals and their staff is incapable of even showing a little bit of care. SMDH. Never going back until EMILY IS FIRED!

I brought my cat to suburban. i found her after she was missing for 6 weeks. she came home emaciated. The staff took her on as a new patient the moment we called. The staff was incredibly empathetic for my poor kitty. They took amazing care of her while keeping contact with me twice a day. They gave their best care with out going over the range of cost we spoke of(no amount of money would have created a extra degree of care with the condition she was in).

To no fault of them i did end up having to put her down. I was very impressed with the empathy that was given. I appreciate that i was never given faulse hope just to gain a buck They gave me a very honest answers when i asked what quality of health she would have if continuing on. I was reassured with a caring voice that it was justified to put her down. she was incredibly comforting as well as the staff. They gave my family the best during a bad situation. my family is thankful to have found such great "bed side manor" via phone. Thank you!

Dr. Fisher, Dr. Bunkerburg, Dr. McKinney, and the entire staff are amazing! They are compassionate, understanding, and extremely knowledgeable. They love each clients animal, great and small, like their very own. I have been going here for over 15 years and will continue to trust them. From my dogs, cats, rabbit, my rats (yes I have pet rats and they are amazing;) ), hamster, and my bird. I highly recommend them.

My roommates and I got a cat while living in Henrietta so we started taking him here. They always answer our questions as well as they can, are incredibly friendly and take good care of our cat, Fodi. He hates the vet in general but they do everything they can to make the visit bearable for him. They provide towels, and usually let us into an examining room while we wait so the cat doesn't have to sit with all the dogs and noise in the waiting area.

No one likes paying for a vet visit and the price is my only complaint, even though I know it's something that must be paid. Thank you Suburban for keeping our cat happy and healthy!

Switched over from Henrietta Hospital on Friday, and wow this place is a 360 from Henrietta Animal Hospital. I remember even coming here as a kid bringing our family pets here, the customer service and compassion for animals hasn't changed here. I went to bring my cat in thinking she had worms, but the doctor was asking questions and he couldn't find any.

Then I said just look at her butt and he said that sometimes the glands can get plugged. Instead of pushing medication or do this or that, or its my fault; like the other animal hospital always seems to be like. He goes we can easily take care of it in the back and get her updated on her shots. Seriously if you have a horrible vet, or something seems off. Bring your fur babies here

Okay so I went here earlier this year with my two kitties. Everything started off relatively okay. The doctor was kind and the staff was inviting. However, we were mislead to believe that our vaccines would cost much less than we ended up paying. When I asked the front desk why this was so they simply said it was the doctor's charges that she had applied.

That was the only explanation we received.how is that fair? My boyfriend and I paid a lot of money for our services, more than we really have to pay, and the only explanation was "that's just how the doctor charged you"? The only reason I'm givign this place 2 stars is because of the caring vet assistnat that held our animals while the doctor did her examination. Thank hyou for being kind and please never change. We will be taking our business elsewhere where charges are fairly applied with explanation.

After 20+ years of driving an hour each way to see my vet in my old home town, I am thrilled to have found Suburban and feel comfortable making them "the new usual". Dr. Fisher and all the staff have been exceptional with our very, very nervous Great Dane, all 120 lbs. of her. Their patience and kindness have been exemplary. The staff and Dr. Blair also demonstrated their depth of compassion when what we thought would be a routine visit for our kitten turned out to be his last trip. Stephanie hugged me and cried with me at the heartbreaking turn in events, and the kindness of the entire staff eased the burden of a terrible day.

Like all MVA operated hospitals, prices can be a bit dear, but the quality of care is outstanding and we have never had a hard sell on any additional procedures or products. Our questions and concerns are always answered respectfully and the Doctors are always willing to discuss various treatment options and prioritize according to restrictions in our budget, time and wishes. I have been looking for a veterinary practice like this for two decades; so glad to have found them!

I just moved back to Rochester and was looking for a new vet- I saw good reviews about this hospital so thought this would be a good choice. I was told to get there early before my first visit to fill out paperwork so I got there 15 min early and was put in a room to wait. I wasn't given anything to fill out and waited another 40 min prior to someone coming in.

I was then told that they needed all of his records for his history but I was not told to call and have these sent over ahead of time so they didn't have any of his paperwork for this visit (making it somewhat useless to ensure he was up to date on everything he needed). My dog's old (16) and when I first scheduled with this place I asked if they were able to "get dogs in quickly to be seen" once they're established there because sometimes he has issues that come up all of a sudden and I was told that they definitely would be able to. However, the first time I called in for an acute issue that needed a tech appointment I was told "I should book these appointments 3-4 weeks in advance because tech appointments are usually full at that point" which is very frustrating as it's sometimes impossible to predict when something might happen that far in advance.

I also needed to get heartworm protection for my dog and asked several times when checking out at the first appointment AND at the follow up tech appointment if there was anything I needed to do prior to this- I was told that no, I could just call a few days before I needed to pick it up. When I called ahead as instructed to schedule a time to pick this up I was then told that I needed a heartworm test done before I could get this which means I had to bring my dog back in for yet another visit! (Even though he had just been there twice!) The only positive is that the vet I saw was very friendly and thorough with her exam which is the only reason I stayed. It was just a frustrating initial experience to not be told things correctly and have to bring my dog in multiple times because of this.

I'm so glad I found this hospital! My dog had a full body rash for over a year. It started in San Diego and I had gone to two different vets in hopes to get the rash cured. They did rounds of antibiotics on her and prescribed her some lotions, but sadly they didn't work. My dog was scratching constantly and had fur falling out excessively.

I came to this hospital and saw Dr. Blair. He took samples of her skin and prescribed her steroids that worked like a charm! The rash never came back and I'm so thankful!

We are new to the area, and I chose this vet based on their Yelp reviews. The facility is clean, and they provide all the usual services that one would expect from a vet. The wait time was short. They insisted that we test our dog for heartworm. Our previous vet always recommended it, but allowed us to skip the test since our dog never missed a dose of her medication.

The risk with heartworm is that your dog can become sick if you give them the preventative medication if they are already infected. Since our dog took the medication 2 weeks prior to her appointment, and didn't become sick, we believed the test to be unnecessary. Unfortunately, they were only willing to provide a prescription for more heartworm prophylaxis if we agreed to perform the blood test, and the phlebotomy process for this unnecessary test did not go well.

Our small dog is very easy going, and usually tolerates her vet appointments. The the techs were too timid to hold our dog's leg securely, and as a result stuck her multiple times (3 needles, and multiple sticks per needle). Hours later, our dog is still shivering at home.

I can't believe in this day and age that I have to personally go to the vets office to pick up a prescription and send it to the pharmacy. Suburban Animal Hospital needs to get with the times!

We brought our cat here with some stomach problems. The staff was welcoming, informative, and helped our kitty feel better. Also, as it turns out, the dry food we had been using wasn't good so they prescribed some prescription cat food. Everything is now back to normal. I just moved back here to Rochester from North Coast California. My poodle had begun having seizures in California, which I believe was due to the massive amounts of flea products we had to use there. (with the drought, the flea population has exploded) So I arrive here in Rochester with a poodle on seizure meds. Her prescription was running out from the California vet (who was awesome too) and I needed a refill.

My sister uses Suburban for their little dog and so I went there. The place was clean, friendly and great! The staff was super nice. The tech who came in to do a quick temp and stuff was not too good. She threw her hands up and left after my wiggly poodle wouldn't stand still on the scale, but the other tech who came in with a laptop for details on her was great. Dr. B who came in after that was TERRIFIC!

Great petside manner and was super informative. She was very understanding of my situation and we went from there. They did ask me to get all new blood work in 30 days, (even though I just had a full blood work up in Cal after the seizures, barely 2 weeks ago) but Dr. B tried to limit what was needed and understood my situation. Over all, at this point, I would recommend them to anyone!

They even took my poodle in the back for nail trim. She did great. I have a problem with groomers as my poodle doesn't like to be touched with a brush or trimmer. Go figure, a poodle who doesnt like to be groomed. Oh well. Great experience!

I love this vet! Thankfully, I haven't had to visit for anything other than Wembley's annual appointments. It's an all around good experience. The staff manning the front desk are quick to help you as you walk in. I just love that they refer to the cat as the patient: "Is this Wembley here, ready for his appointment with Dr. Silberg." I'm always so surprised how clean they keep it in there, especially after seeing what the room looks like after Wembley's visits -- puffs of cat hair and scattered catnip.

The waiting room and appointment rooms are spotless. Dr. Silberg is wonderful. He remembers details about Wembley from our visit a year ago (likely due to good note taking), asks questions about how he's been over the year, any unusual changes in behavior, etc. He also shares some great info about new studies on keeping your pets healthy. He recently mentioned that plant soil can contain parasite eggs so be cautious of house plants or use sterilized soil. Wembley is our first pet (as adults) so the tips are super helpful for us.

The other thing that's quite amazing is how calm Wembley is with him. Our cat is feisty on a normal basis, but with Dr. Silberg there's no biting, scratching or any bad behavior, especially considering how foreign of an environment it is for him. Even though this vet is a little out of the way for us, I'll continue visiting because of the excellent care Wembley gets with each visit.

I highly recommend this vet for your pets! P.S. I also witnessed some great customer service when I was waiting for the final paperwork to print out. A woman came in with her pet bunny for her appt. at 3pm and mentioned that she had to pick up her daughter by 4pm. She wanted to make sure she'd be out in time. The receptionist checked with the doctor who said she was running behind.

In any other situation, I'd assume the appt. would have to be rescheduled. But the receptionist quickly accommodated this lady by getting her in an appointment room to do the basic vet tech screening then they offered to board the bunny and have the vet look at her while the woman left to run her errands.

Awesome, awesome veterinarians! I took my puppy for the first time today, and we had a wonderful experience. My dog loved the techs and the vet, and had no problems at all. Their annual exam was the most comprehensive that I have ever seen, and they explained each step of the process. They gave my dog a 'report card', detailing his health, and explained procedures (along with pricing) that they thought would be useful. The vaccinations were also inexpensive compared to other places that I've taken my puppy, including VetCo (at PetCo). We will definitely be sticking with this vet!

What a great place. I brought my dog here for boarding a week after a hellacious experience where another place LOST my dog (so I was a little damaged). The boarding is $22 ($11 a half day). Your dog gets placed in a fairly small cage (they have larger outdoor ones too but. it's winter) with a blanket (you can provide or they can). They'll bring your pup to pee/poop 4-5x a day.

Nothing glamorous. But their attention to detail is awesome. They ask how much food/when to feed. They make sure your pup is up to date on all vaccinations. They write down everything you gave them and give it all back! They give you a tour of the facility- it's clean, not too many other dogs. They welcome you to call and will give you updates.

They offer buddy play time for $4 for 15mn. A bath with ear cleaning/nail trim for $20. But the best part? (besides picking up your dog!) The best part is the TOTALLY precious Doggie Boarding Report they give you WITH PICTURES to tell you how your dog played/slept/ate/pooped/etc. I'll re-update my review when I go to the actual vet but so far, I'm smitten.

I'm constantly moving from place to place, and my doggie and I are constantly having to change doctors / vets. Suburban was by far my favorite vet I've ever gone to. They are very straight forward with you about what vaccinations your dog actually needs vs. what vets typically try to get you to give them to get more money. They explained everything I could ever want to know about my dog and told me in detail what they were doing each step of the way.

I recently moved to Syracuse, and really dread finding another vet. I loved them so much I'm considering keeping them as my vet and driving so I don't have to attempt to find another vet as great as them!
