We had to take our senior dog there for end of life care. Everyone was very compassionate and very professional. They did a great job in making a very difficult time for us a better experience.

I highly recommend WRAH for both your Emergency and General Care. Not only that, what a team of specialists are available for animal parents. My little French Bulldog has been there three times and each time, I feel calmed, educated and positive! More important though, my dog has been taken care of. Thank you to each and every one of you who helped me. Your kindness and professionalism is wonderful. I am so thankful I’ve found you!

Summary of events of Oct. 13th are now the focus of an investigation by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies into the actions of Dr. Jackie Hensen: Case # 2021-7086. I brought my shih tzu (Picard) to WRAH's emergency department, I had called at 6am to inform them that I was coming with an emergency and a description of the symptoms. Picard was extremely bloated, in pain from both a visual and audible perspective, vomiting, and displaying all the other classic signs of a digestive obstruction.

The department's lead techncian, Sarah Garrison, took Picard to see the ER vet who was working at 6:30am - Jackie Hanse. Sarah came back less than 2 minutes later, told me Dr. Hansen had examined him, he was "stable" right now, and there would be another vet coming in at 7am and this new vet would perform a "thorough exam" . This was a fabrication between Jackie Hansen (the vet) and her friend Sarah Garrison (the tech). WRAH's management has admitted that Sarah Garrison did the exam in place of, and with the knowledge of, Dr. Hansen.

Both Hansen and Garrison, falsified documentation and knowingly gave false information in a medical environment. Dr. Hansen didn't want another patient, so Sarah did the exam and lied on her behalf. For reasons still unknown, the assertion that a new vet was scheduled to arrive was a complete lie and that fact is that another vet was not scheduled to arrive until 8am was known by the entire staff - including front desk staff . Picard was handed back to me and we were told to remain in the waiting area where Picard continued to decline. 15 minutes have Sarah Garrison lied to me, I went to the front desk attendant and asked when the new vet would see Picard.

The person, a women named Joney, initially was confused by my assumption of a new vet and said he hasn't been seen by the vet on staff yet. I began to get very upset and stated that Sarah was just here telling me that Hansen HAD examined him AND there was a new vet coming. Joney went to go talk with Sarah and came back to tell me the same lies Sarah and Jackie had created - That Hansen had examined Picard, the new vet was here, and that I need to be more patient and understanding because this new vet was just starting her rounds.

Total lie. No other vet was present. No other vet was scheduled until 8am. I didn't know this at the time, so I sat back down and 30 minutes later, Sarah Garrison came to take Picard to be "thoroughly examined" by the new vet. I demanded that, irregardless of this new vet's findings, I wanted a xray taken now. 40 seconds later the Sarah Garrison returned with Picard, said the new vet also declared him "stable" and that this new vet refused to perform x-rays because she had declared him to be "stable" and not in need of any kind of further care, and definitely not in need of an xray. Sarah Garrison also communicated that this new vet suggest I should "go somewhere else if I wanted an xray". WRAH management has admitted that, once again, Jackie and Sarah were purposely falsifying information.

When Sarah took Picard back a 2nd time, Sarah performed the exam again, told Dr. Hansen Picard was stable, but the owner wanted an xray anyway, and Hansen documented Sarah's exam findings as if they were hers. She told Sarah to tell me to "go somewhere else". ". I left immediately and took Picard to the emergency room at VRCC, he was taken to be examined by an actual vet and was immediately admitted for IV fluids and xrays.

The xray clearly showed a foreign object in his stomach, and foreign objects in his small intestines. It was recommended that an emergency endoscopy be performed to remove the object from his stomach and, after that procedure, additional care would be necessary to monitor the elimination of the foreign materials in his intestines. I was also made aware that a bowel obstruction was still possible despite the endoscopy and elimination monitoring. Picard was not "stable" enough to be released until the early evening of Friday the 15th.

Later on in the morning I called WRAH to complain and find out the names of the vets and tech involved with this nightmare. Joney answered the call, she once again, lied that there were two vet, she only knew the name of one "Dr. JENsen" she was very clear that is was JENsen, who also is a ER vet, and claimed she didn't know the name of the tech. When I asked her name, she put me on hold and never picked up.

Since then, all the calls I place to WRAH from my cell phone (the phone I used to speak with Joney) have gone straight to hold. I have sent emails and attempted to place calls to every "Client care speclist" and manager at WRAH and am only getting a minor amount of attention directed to this negligance. One the 15th, the hospital manager, Brooke Doran, told me the situation had been "resolved" to "the best of (her) ability" with the following corrective actions:

1)Associative Veterinary Jackie Hansen: for allowing the technician Sarah Garrison to exam, diagnosis, and dismiss a very ill dog without her (Dr. Hansen's) involvement on any level, allowing Sarah Garrison to falsify documentation to state that a vet preformed the exam, propagating the lie that she (Dr. Hansen) had performed the exam and found my dog to be "stable" and not in need of further care, and telling me to "go somewhere else" for life saving care.

She is guilty of gross negligence, failure to follow ethical procedures, falsifying documentation, conveying known false information in a medical environment, willfully deceptive practices in a medical environment, extreme incompetents, and general malpractice. For that Dr. Hansen will be "spoken to" by her manager.

2) Veterinary Technician Sarah Garrison: with the consent of Dr. Hansen, examined my dog in place of a vet, falsified documentation that Dr. Hansen had examined and declared my dog "stable", for repeatedly stating to me that two separate vets had examined my dog and declared him "stable"(but in truth, she was person that did both exams) And telling me that both of these vets said I "should go somewhere" for care.

She is also guilty of gross negligence, failure to follow ethical procedures, falsifying documentation, conveying known false information in a medical environment, willfully deceptive practices in a medical environment, extreme incompetents, and general malpractice. For that, Sarah Garrison is receiving re-training.

3) Front desk attendant Joney: for propagating the known deceptive information that Dr. Hansen had examined my dog, for propagating the known deceptive information that another vet had arrived at 7am, that this new vet was doing rounds as we spoke, and would to a "through exam" on my dog as soon as her rounds were complete. And, later in that morning, told Paul the complete lie that "Dr. JENsen was one of the two vets that attended" my dog.

She is guilty of conveying known false information in a medical environment, willfully deceptive practices in a medical environment, protecting negligent actions, grossly unethical behavior - Joney has no known corrective action in place. The resolutions that Brooke Doran and the WRAH management team have declared "the best we can do" is insulting. Please, at least investigate Dr. Hansen – this person is an embarrassment to veterinary medicine and should not be allowed to practice. Or, perhaps I should say, be allowed to tell people that she treated their pet – and then just let the techs take care of it in her name.

I’ve brought all my dogs to Wheat Ridge for their specialist and urgent care needs - they are the best in the business. Most recently, our mutt, Maverick, tore both CCLs and needed double TPLO surgery. We opted to do one at a time. Dr. Prink and his team were patient, compassionate, clear and never rushed us in to any decisions. They made sure to regularly check-up and urgently see our pup when things got complicated with recovery. Maverick is now in rehab recovering from both surgeries and doing amazingly well! I’m so thankful, beyond measure, for the great care from WRAH! They really understand and appreciate the human-animal bond. I highly recommend them for all the pet care they have to offer

My 14 year border collie needed to go to the emergency vet at 2 am on a Saturday. The staff was so amazing and caring. They were able to help her with some meds to give me a couple hours so that my family could say their good byes. We brought her back about 6 hours later to be put down. From start to finish, they whole team was so compassionate and supportive.
