I have been using Westside Vets for 25 years, got two dogs. My regular vet is Kim Rosenthal. My last dog had numerous health problems, including a seizure disorder and hip dysplasia. I got excellent advice and was sent to specialists. Dr Zrosenthal is very smart and an excellent diagnostician. I trust her judgment and she really cares about your pet.

Thank you very much Dr Sandra and Dr Cantor, for taking such great care of our older dog Connor when he had to get his teeth cleaned. Dr Sandra did a wonderful job cleaning his teeth. And thank you, Dr Cantor, for checking in on him while he was there. I really appreciate you both!

We have had such a wonderful and remarkable experience having Kim Rosenthal care for our dogs. We started seeing Kim only about a year ago, but she immediately became an indispensable part of our lives. Our older dog, Sam, had started to develop multiple health challenges. Kim stood by and with us the entire time, bringing a mixture of creativity, practicality and compassion that helped us navigate the last year of his life. We felt at all times that she was with us all the way, always thinking of new possibilities and options to try out no matter how patchwork. She listened carefully to what we needed and responded with empathy and genuine help. Eventually, we had to euthanize Sam. It was such a sad moment for our family, but with Kim’s help, we felt sure that we had done all we could and were honoring his life with us. For us, Kim has been both a great doctor and an equally outstanding human being. We are so grateful that we can continue to rely on her as a vet for our younger dog.

Following 7 years of mixed (mostly negative) experiences at another neighborhood vet, I decided to try Westside Vet Center following the recommendation of a friend. Differences were night and day. The prior vet NEVER saw my dog on time, causing my dog high level anxiety while we waited in the tiny waiting area where they allowed a dog to wander off leash as well as a cat (which also stressed my dog.). Westside's lobby is 3x the size, no animals are off leash, and even though I arrived early I was taken immediately to a small room and the vet came shortly. The vet was knowledgeable, took her time to examine my dog, and made an accurate diagnosis. All the staff were friendly, professional, and most importantly, never made me wait. And, finally, and most importantly, I took my dog for a visit on Sunday morning. I promptly received a call from Dr. Jones early Monday morning with the blood test results and further discussion on. my dog's health and prognosis. I highly recommend Westside Veterinary Center.

The vets at this practice are kind, knowledgeable, and great to work with. We've seen a few different vets with our French bulldog and they have been patient and warm with both the animal and the humans in the room! While the vets are top notch (and really.that's what you're here for) prepare yourself for a frustrating waiting room experience. It could be that the team is simply understaffed right now, which is understandable.

But the last three visits, after a smooth and easy 20 min appointment with the vet I've been stuck waiting for another 30 min or longer just to have prescriptions filled and pay my bill.

Do not take your pet to this vet! I took my dog here for about 2.5 years because it was close and they have great hours for owners who work full time but it is not worth it. There are much better vets in the area. The last straw was recently when my dog had a cough and the vet kept him on the same antibiotic for two weeks before telling us to come in for a chest x-ray.

I brought him in at 7pm for them to tell me that the x-ray machine was actually broken since that morning and they didn't know when it would be fixed. When I asked why they didn't call me so I could reschedule, the vet said the "front doesn't always know what's going on in the back." She then said she wouldn't charge me but after having a 10 minute conversation said she was going to give me a "low charge" of $30 because we "had a conversation." I thought a short conversation was the least she could do for wasting my time bringing my dog all the way there after work just to find out the machine was broken. Needless to say this was extremely unprofessional and I never went back.

Our new vet took a chest x-ray the next day, switched the antibiotic immediately (as the first one obviously wasn't working) and then suggested zyrtec for allergies when the new antibiotic didn't work after just a few days. This did the trick. Westside Vet was going to give him an opioid cough suppressant. Previous terrible experiences include having to leave my dog there over night, going home to get his dinner to bring back to the vet, to find out when I picked him up the next day that they forgot to feed him dinner.

They could not offer an explanation. A $1000 bill and they could not even remember to feed my dog. Another experience includes calling them when my dog had extremely bloody diarrhea. The clerk at the front desk told me they had no appointments for 3 days, but to feed chicken and rice in the meantime. Chicken and rice is not proper medical advice for a dog whose stool only consisted of liquid blood.

He needed medication and fluids right away. The only reason we didn't switch vets sooner is because my dog barely goes and they were fine for routine check ups and shots. The lack of caring, terrible administration, and unprofessional veterinary service at this place is unacceptable and I'm shocked they have as many good reviews as they do. They do have one vet who I liked, but it was not worth all of the negatives of this place. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

My pup Gooses' has gone here to see the Doc several times and each time the visit is timely and thorough. We've visited several vets and I must say our experience here feels TOP NOTCH each time. Also a bonus that they're really nice when accommodating our schedule. Thank you Doctor Rutherford and the whole team!

Westside Vet Center is amazing. Dr. Friedman is very down-to-earth and takes great care of my puppy. The staff seem to love working there and are very considerate and helpful. I've never had a problem getting in contact with them or making an appointment. I appreciate them a lot.

The dreaded emergency visit to the vet is enough to set most humans on edge for multiple reasons. I'm not sure if the design of the office was conceptualized for what I'm about to point out but the openness helped alleviate stress. We were seated parallel to the window and could see through towards the back. At another vet's office we waited in the front while they took our cat to the back.

At this location we accompanied our cat to the examine room. She was escorted upstairs for bloodwork while we briefly waited in the examine room. This process felt inclusive and natural. The vet was compassionate and discussed cost along with procedures. We didn't feel vilified for considering budgetary choices. The staff is respectful and friendly. On one visit to pick up medication I gave my cat's name and one of the nurses gleefully repeated the name because she remembered my cat. It felt like home in that moment.

Darcy and I love Dr. Lewis! I will be the first to admit that I'm a hypochondriac when it comes to my dog, but Dr. Lewis has a way of speaking to me that is at the same time so sweet, succinct, and informative without being condescending in the slightest. Going to the vet with your aging pet is never fun, but Westside has made it as comfortable as possible.

Whenever I freak out over anything, I know I can just pick up the phone and talk to a standby nurse or Dr. Lewis (who will call me back at 9pm just to make sure I get answers). I know Darcy is in good hands and would recommend Westside to anyone. Their prices, while fair for the neighborhood/quality of service, are not cheap, but you can count on them always being transparent.

Because of their negligence my dog is dead. So. Yeah. Don't go here. They will overcharge you and undervalue your patronage. The vets are detached and impersonal. They half-examined my dog. Sent us on our way. Took her to another vet who asked if nobody thought to check her liver. I told her Westside didn't mention anything. Emergency visits, more tests, it was too late.

She died. Don't know who they're paying to write positive reviews but don't believe the hype. Went to them before then and they were all about the dollars. I thought "we'll, you get what you pay for" and they're charging a lot so hopefully they'll take care of my baby - FALSE. If you love your pet, don't go here. There are other reviews on Yelp who attest to their lack of care and misdiagnoses.

A superb vet practice with excellent staff!. We've been a fur-family with them for over 12 years and every vet, tech and front desk person has been engaged, warm and caring, patient, helpful and professional. They are clearly not only animal lovers themselves, but they appreciate the profound nature of the human-animal bond and how we humans need their kind attention as well.

A TOXIC environment that is Poorly run. Staff is extremely rude if you ask any questions. They give conflicting prices and ultimately decisions are made by manager who determines what you owe. If you go in with a credit card and tell that just process whatever they want you are good. If you question pricing- they do not want your business. After being overcharged hundreds of dollars from the price quoted by doctor, manager asked me to find another vet to go to.

All due yo their office screwing up prices for services I was given another price for. They are a rude, and sleezy operation. Most unprofessional business Ive yet to encounter.

TLDR: staff and techs are incredible, Dr. Jones in particular goes far above and beyond to provide care, reassurance, and comfort. 10/10. I had an emergency with my baby girl and we had just moved to the city. I frantically called here looking for guidance. The staff answered all of my questions and got me an appointment as soon as they could (even though I wasn't even technically a patient yet!) Once we arrived, everyone was incredibly kind and helpful. Dr. Jones took my very long list of questions and paranoid concerns and addressed them one by one, ensuring I understood and was comfortable with all treatments and tests and even itemized/explained all costs. All I can say is above and beyond. Highly recommend.

Do NOT trust this vet. They are NEGLIGENT AND WILL BE SUING THEM THIS MONTH. We paid $800 for a dental cleaning and X-rays of our dog's teeth last year and they assured us everything was fine. One year last our new highly regarded vet had to pull 18 of our dog's teeth out because this vet did not identify a very basic issue. Please protect your beloved pet by taking them to another vet!

We appreciate that the doctors here aren't pushing us to buy certain foods or prescribe unnecessary tests or procedures. We've found that they take a mindful and moderate approach to care for our pup. While we don't live in the neighborhood, we find their services are well worth the trip!

My pets have been treated by Westside Vet for over 20 years. I wouldn't even consider going elsewhere. The doctors and staff are knowledgeable, caring and compassionate. They go the extra mile to make sure their patients are getting the best care possible, and that the human pet-parents know what the care will involve and what the options are. Highly recommend!

Best in town I was so happy to find a fantastic vet in the city. Very reliable, prices are reasonable basically as all other vets in the city. My dog was spayed and given all updated shots-vaccinated and complete physicals several visits times over the years. I would highly recommend Westside.

My friends and I had discovered a stray cat in Riverside Park and were directed to bring her here. They were so helpful and kind, and even managed to find someone to take her in! They immediately started to help us and made this a quick and easy experience. There was no doubt that this cat would be cared for and loved and safe with them. I would definitely recommend this business!

I've been taking my dog here for 2 years and had no issues previously. I have no issues with the vets. Lately, however, the receptionists have been incredibly rude. Keyanna, in particular, talked down to me, was very unprofessional, and put me on an abrupt hold without telling me she was putting me on hold while i was talking, and another. receptionist picked up and apologized for her behavior.

I was calling because I was concerned about my pup and trying to get an appt asap. There was no reason to be so rude. The next receptionist calmly explained to me the situation and I understood completely.

This is my second attempt to write this post - that's how strongly I feel about it; in fact, I rejoined FB in order to post this. I recommend WVC for many reasons, including my amazing vet Dr. Kim Rosenthal (smart, informed, straightforward, alert, notices - including once noticing that I felt faint almost before I realized it myself - and she. recently called me about Nushie from her vacation; she is completely on the side of your animal) and the front desk people and other support staff (I once unexpectedly found myself in the hospital overnight - I called WVC the next morning from recovery and Rosa went over to feed the cats), but I am writing this about Rebecca the nurse. Nushie has.

Nushie has recently developed asthma; I had to bring her in yesterday; when I picked her up in the evening she was fine, but by the time I got her home she was panting and I couldn't seem to get her to stop.

I was terrified. I called the clinic; Kim had gone home, so I asked to speak to a nurse; Rebecca came on the line. She knew what I could do and how long I could safely wait for the AC to do its work and she stayed on the phone without any impatience until I knew it too. She was clear and informed and kind. I hope we all are always helped as much as she helped Nushie and me. Thank you, Rebecca.

Dr. Kathleen Colby is the best! Extremely attentive to the pet and owner. My dog Gucci was diagnosed with cancer and even though we now see an oncologist she still is very helpful to us. She was a blessing to have as a Vet. Gucci loves her! Thank you so much from us both!

Brought my dog in because she ate something ofd. She had been acting weird for a few days. Dr Rutherford was absolutely amazing and so was the entire staff. I was a mess because she had to spend the night there but the level of compassion of the staff.. it was amazing. Arya is back to her normal self. Thank you to the staff who answered my calls every few hours. You made a hard time a little bit easier.

Kim Rosenthal is an amazing vet who has cared for my mother's cats over 20+ years and just saved my cat's life after a severe urinary obstruction. Everyone on the staff is extremely kind and helpful. It is easy to see that it is a place where animals are truly loved. Do your pet a favor and take them here!

While thinking about how to adequately explain our experience with Westside, their passionate team of techs and nurses, and our primary doctor, I came upon a quote by William Osler - "The good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease." Our Puggle Ryley had a major tumor removed by a different vet out. of state in July 2017 and when symptoms began to re-emerge in late January, my gut told me that something wasn't right.

This sent my wife and I Googling for a doctor on the Upper West Side. To my surprise there were many options - some much closer than others - but for no reason I'm capable of explaining, we chose Westside. When we brought Ryley.

I was attended by Dr. Lewis who was awesome and a pleasure to work with. Dr. Lewis, along with the rest of the staff are professional, knowledgeable, and caring. Also, their prices are reasonable and I did not feel like I was forced to do extra unnecessary diagnostics or tests. I’m glad I found a reliable vet nearby for my dog Kito so close to home!

I have known Dr. Brodsky since I moved to the UWS over 25 years ago. He is a terrific doctor, thoughtful and kind. Whether it is a routine check-up, an emergency or a difficult diagnosis, he spends the time needed to make me and my wife, as well as our cats, feel comfortable. Our concerns, no matter how small, have always been thoroughly addressed and we have never felt discounted or rushed.

I am equally impressed by the other doctors, nurses and support staff at Westside. I have known many of them (Dr. Cantor, Dr. Bodkin, Murray, Andrew, Dawn, Kim, Crystal, Tina, Gina) for as long as I have known Dr. Brodsky. It says a lot about Westside that everyone who works there is dedicated and caring.

DO NOT bring your pets to this Vet Center. Simply put, many of the employees, i.e. receptionists, Doctors, and the owner, Dr. Stuart Brodsky, are completely rude, sarcastic, arrogant, and totally unhelpful. Dr. Brodsky is an arrogant narcissist, VERY VERY rude, and is the polar opposite of providing good customer service. When I called him with a. complaint, he called me back, yelled at me, while correcting me.

He only called me back, not to hear my concerns, but to ball me out. I understand why the rest of his staff is so RUDE, they learned from him. Aside from being the most obnoxious person, I think I have EVER talked to, the entire operation is one of extortion. They completely take.

I,too, come from the East Side and have for over 30 years and 3 pets. They are simply the best. Every single person, from Dr. Brodsky to Murray to every nurse and tech is amazing, smart, caring and knowledgable. They saved my pets several times when I am sure few doctors would have. Abbey, Christy and now Mindy have the absolute best care possible. Westside is truly special.
