Scammy place, with pretty bad service Set up for a Spay and blood work that was way over priced to begin with. They tried to add in heartworm treatment and other medication that I had already paid for a month ago at this clinic. They call 4 hours later saying the blood test came back abnormal, and they can run another one but would have to delay the spay.

Later that afternoon I pick my dog back up and they say the "results arent ready", and THEN they call 30 minutes later saying the results were normal, but dont give any details. 250$ and a whole day for them to run two tests. This place preys on older customers and overcharges because they know some people will pay it. Additionally my dog was extremely thirsty when she got home, which leads me to believe they stuck her in a cage all day and ignored her. UPDATE- the clinic called me harassing me via voicemail about this review, as well as a stellar response on here.

Very professional. They talked to my wife for 5 minutes and call it extensive discussion (I was standing right next to her when they called) In the end I am glad the surgery wasn't performed, I don't want my pup in these peoples hands ever again.

My dog had quit eating, he was getting very thin. He was diagnosed with diabetes. Came home with insulin shots. Next day he was worse. Had to take him to MIDLOTHIAN EMERGENCY CLINIC. There he was diagnosed with a tumor on his spleen & mucus in his gall bladder. He was in a lot of pain. It was recommended we put him down. We didn't want him to suffer.

We did. I cried a river. He was 12. None of the findings were the fault of WAXAHACHIE VETERINARY HOSPITAL. I hold no ill feelings toward them. We just got 2 Schnoodle Pups and will go back.

They always show my Coco so much love. Shot prices are reasonable. However, Coco needed dental work at one time and I found a better price elsewhere for the same procedure. WAX Vet my go to for annual shots!

This place is awful and their customer service needs help. I called on a Monday morning frantic as my elderly dog had fallen trying to jump onto my bed. I explained to the person who answered the phone the situation that he fell and I felt he either broke his leg or dislocated his hip. The person whom answered said the soonest they could see me was the following Monday 7 DAYS away.

I asked if there was a local pet hospital she could recommend and she rattled off a name. I asked if she had the number and she said no and hung up the phone. I will never bring my pets here. This town has grown and their overwhelmed practice needs to have some passion about pet emergencies.

I had two very pleasant visits here with my dog. Office and rooms are very clean. Staff are super nice, polite and greet you when you walk in. We are getting a new pup soon and will be taking him here as well. I recommend!

Fritz is awesome! Some of her staff is terrible! They are rude, impatient and don't listen. Time to find a new vet after almost 3 years of what we thought was going to be a great place. Always a battle to get something done.

They are good, just an extremely busy practice. Prices are good, and they are usually able to squeeze us in when needed. I really appreciate the vet tech going over each and every treatment option at the beginning of the visit. I also love the option to get your heartworm prevention/ etc on their online pharmacy. I do wish they provided holistic alternatives for some treatments.

Parking can get a little cramped at times. All in all, I have been very pleased with this vet. All employees are friendly, but Hannah(front desk) and Dr. Vaught always exceed my expectations. They are both rays of sunshine.

I have been to a ton of vet clinics with my dogs throughout the years and this is hands down my favorite place. EVERY person is so sweet and accommodating. The atmosphere is relaxed which is wonderful when you have an anxious dog. They got me in super last minute when my Dachshund had a nail infection. Dr. Fritz was super knowledgeable and very kind. Highly recommend!

Very helpful and caring. Dr. Fritz let us know all our options and informative. She didn't seem to mind all the calls we made asking questions. We will be coming back!

Very nice staff. A dog was dumped at my house and I took her in to see if she was chipped. The staff let me come in without an appointment and scanned her. They found her original owners, NOT the douches that dumped her. We were able to exchange information and she went back to the original owners. While there I watched the staff behaving very professionally with other pet owners. The clinic was clean and cares a wide variety of pet food.

Not super impressed. I got a puppy 5 months ago and we asked for a vet checkup, we found out we got a puppy wellness appointment and the vet never looked at our puppy (she had something in her eye the whole time). They also were not super communicative on shots that our puppy needed either and I got a post card reminder after the shots were due. Upon calling them I was informed that the last three visits (at $125 each) were now waisted because the shots had to be restarted.

This clinic may be ok for some, but I needed a bit more communication and transparency. The price difference between the Wellness check and a Vet visit was only $5. They did provide the medication for worms though, so they do try and help their pets, and hence my 2 star review.

Took my dog Lola here for the first time the other day. The place was clean and everyone was nice. Looks like this will be our permanent vet location now after moving to Waxahachie a couple months ago.

We have 6 dogs and 2 cats and all of them are patients here. We have had the pleasure of working with Dr. Fritz and Dr. Vaught and they are both excellent in what they do. Compassionate, informative, and they never make me feel rushed as they are with the animals. All of the staff have been pleasant for us.

I love this place. I have been trusting my pets care with them for 18 years. I recently lost my beloved dog Max who was 17 years old. They took care of Max his whole life and were always loving and caring and professional. I recently got a new dog Bandit and they stepped right up and have welcomed him into their care. He has been checked out and they have him updated on all his shots and overall health. He is a 1.5 year old lab mix rescue and he loves seeing the staff and doctors. I highly recommend Waxahachie Veterinary Clinic for all your fur baby care.

I wouldn't trust my dog with anyone except Dr. Hubka. He is outstanding at what he does, and I would follow him to any clinic. Thank you Dr. Hubka for all you do for my fur baby!

If you want to give your money away go to Waxahachie Veterinary Clinic. They charge way to much this place has gone down hill since Dr. Gilbreath died. Took my dog in for some special vet to look at her nose. They called said she needed surgery which you couldn't talk to the vet. who looked at her are you would be charged more money. Finally at 5:00 I went to pick her up and the first thing over the phone was I will take your payment.

They could care less about your pets all they care about is MONEY. Yes I will admit I wasn't very nice but I don't like throwing my money away for nothing. The Vet. looked at the dog around 2:00 or before cause the girl called and said she did. Said they needed to get the paper work done and would call me back to pick her up. Well that happened at 5:00 and after they brought the paper work out then they waited 20 minutes longer before they brought my dog out to me.

She was so thirsty she drank half a bowl of water. There was no reason to keep my dog in a cage all day after she had been looked at. They had no paper work ready when I got the call to pick her they said they would e-mail it. Yes I was very mad cause there is no reason to do any animal like that caged up all day. So if you want to throw your money away go to Waxahachie Veterinary Clinic cause that's all they care about is MONEY. Jackie

My family has been going to this location for about 20 yrs now. When Dr. Gilbreath was still practicing it was a place of safety and respected caregivers to animals. This is not the case at the moment. Dr. Fritz may be a nice lady away from the office but the way she practices medicine is just that, she prescribes medicine to our pets that have horrible side effects and cause alot of unnecessary pain and suffering for them and us.

I brought my babygirl to her about a month ago with itchy skin and she was a little overweight. Now with all the drugs that i was told to give her she is literally dying from the inside out. Hasn't eaten in 4 days i have to give her baby formula just so she gets nutrients into her little body. The guilt that i feel fir giving these drugs with horrible side effects to my baby is beyond what you can imagine.

I haven't written this to bash or degrade what she and her team are doing but in the same breath you as a doctor to our babies have to be more cautious of what you give them. As i end this review i say be cautious of where you take you furry loved ones because believe me no one cares for them like we as parents to them do.

The whole crew that works at this vet is absolutely amazing! I recently got a Rottweiler puppy and he has been a bit aggressive. This vet takes the time out to make him feel comfortable and makes sure that his experience at the vet is not a bad one. I recommend this vet 100%!

I LOVE Waxahachie Veterinary Clinic! We wouldn't trust our dogs to be seen anywhere else. My pug was a re-home and had contracted heart worms while living in rescue. Long story short, Dr. Fritz @ WVC saved her life AND in a most economical way. They have kept me up on our pug's prolonged health and been so helpful in being proactive on heart-worm prevention for our doodle.

The mosquitos that carry heart-worms is prevalent in Texas and treatment is so costly if your fur baby contracts it. Anyway, we've been most pleased with WVC and wouldn't go anywhere else!

Vets are in to make money then send you some where else. Payed over 600.00. My puppy ended up just having a virus

We are a home of fur babies! This vet has always taken it's time and thoroughly looked over each and every one of my animals. They have explained in detail and the prices prior to any decisions made. There prices are similar to other vet clinics, which I personally think is high but that's the "veterinary" business. I feel they genuinely care for our animal family.

*sigh* I was hoping I would never have to write this review. And I always disagreed with the other bad reviews on Waxahachie Veternarian clinic. But y'all, it's true. The care for my pets and the service is so bad I even don't agree with putting 1 Star. I feel they are not there for you or your pets. You can judge for yourself but I always hope it's a better experience then I have had and others that have had a bad experience.

If you want to be taken advantage of this is the vet for you! I called and made an appointment for a teeth cleaning. I was told they would do a consult when I arrived but it would be $180 for the cleaning and $50 for unlimited pullings. I live in Houston but my parents were watching my dog while I was on my honeymoon. My dog is up to date on all his shots and even had the paperwork to prove it.

When my dad arrived they told him they needed to do a check up that would cost $50 since he hadn't been seen by them in 2 years. Mind you- he had just been to the vet in Sept in Houston to get his vaccines. They then wanted to go ahead and do his vaccines that aren't even due until September. What a rip off and not to mention how unnecessary and possibly harmful it is to do that!

They tried to get my dad to get unnecessary blood work and also charged for antibiotics for the teeth pulling. I'd be fine with that if I was told that it wasn't included in the price. They purposely try to mislead you into paying for things you don't need. We will NOT be returning and neither will my parents. Extremely disappointing in the way they handle their business. $383 was my total.

Don't waste your time and money with this place that's all they want anyway. This place doesn't care about your pets well being and they obviously don't care about the working class when their closing time is 5:30pm. After they forgot to give me my dogs medicine for UTI because they were in a rush to go home so my dog suffered all night and what did I get in return the following morning a whoops my bad. Well I found a vet closer to home that stays open till 6:30pm for working people like me.

I called the vet to ask if there was a charge if my cat recently became pregnant & they had told me no. Then they turned around & charged me anyways for it. They are not clear with explaining the vaccines they just put it on the bill. Today the vet couldn't give my cat a pill & so she opted for the more expensive route which is a rub. She didn't even ask if she'd like us for her to put It on, instead she just sent another lady in & handed It to us. Too many hidden charges for not that great of service

Putter (K9) and I saw Dr Bell today. It was our first time at the clinic and we were greeted promptly and called back within five minutes. The Vet was very thorough and prescribed some medicine to ease his ear infection. The price was reasonable and we were in and out in less than 40 min. Thanks.

Very disappointed in this vet clinic. We live in Lakeway, 3 hours away from our daughter and she had to bring her dog back home to us for several months. Even though she had the dog tested for heartworm and bought heartguard from Wax Vet in the Spring, when we wanted to obtain more, they refused to provide a prescription. They claim they want to be sure we don't use the prescription from an online site.

It is the owner's decision and risk if they want to buy online, not the Vet's. I think they want to make sure they make their profit on the pills. The technician said she would have the Vet call me, but I waited until closing and then the technician called with a message from the Vet. The Vet wants to send the prescription to a vet of my choice, but won't give to me. Games.

Would have appreciated a call back after her x-ray that I specifically requested, certainly after two messages for the vet to let us know how advanced her HW infection - 1 minute phone call would have turned into a 5 star rating. I know you are busy, but you know we rescue and she is our latest, not to mention we have other pups that are your patients. disappointed.

My furbabies have been coming here for a few years, and we're always appreciative of the service they give, the time out they take for your pets, and the ease of service each time.

Dr. Gilbreath is a wonderful, caring vet. I trust him very much! Our family has relied on his guidance in treating all of our cats - kittens to elderly cats. He always considers the comfort and well being of the animal first and has never recommended anything frivolous or unnecessary. He is very smart and has years of experience. I have left several cats in his care overnight, and all of mine have had their procedures done there.

You can tell that he really loves animals. I have moved away from Waxahachie but considered undertaking the long drive just to continue with Dr. G, but the car ride was too difficult for the cats.
