We were in town for our daughter's wedding taking a hike when our dog suddenly started acting strange. Our best guess was that something had lodged in his ear. I called another vet clinic to see if they could see him. The receptionist told me that they could not, that no Lake County vet would see him this weekend, and her recommendation would be that we let him suffer for the next few days and take him to his vet in our hometown.

We then took him to Wasson (my mother-in-law's first recommendation), they immediately took him in, and he was good to go a few hours later. Thank you for your care, Wasson staff. You are the best!

My Dog was recommended by my Vet.to have Wasson Memorial Veterinary look at lump in abdomen. Dr Cannon seen the lump & right away said it needs to come out.told me to go up front wait for a Low/High estimate on the procedure. I stated I am in the process of getting funding from 2 pet agencies in Mendocino Co.i was told to call for an appt.when I get funding.3 wks later the 28th of May was the day I dropped my pet off at 7:30 am and was told it would be around 2 pm.the recent thad my callback number.

Never got a call.!.I drove 35 min.only to find out they left message on somebody else's voicemail.saying to come pick up my pet as the procedure could not be performed (after sedating my pet, and 31/2 hours later) because the lady that gave me the estimate on procedure gave me an incorrect cost and was no longer with them.mind you my pet sat in that office for 7+ hours.

I was NEVER notified of any mistake, was NEVER told anything when I dropped my pet off.asked to speak with Susan Cannon. Only you be told she was busy & would call after hours. My pet was not herself for over 72 hours.lathargic, disoriented, confused not Stable and bulging eye to back of head. I received a call from Dr. Susan Cannon as I cried uncontrollably she preceded to tell me the employee that made the mistake was no longer there & if she were she would have her apologize.

I said in the meantime my dog is dying because of the mistake your employee made. She started yelling at me, extremely rude and not at a professional manner.she said if I wasn't happy with that, that there was nothing else they could, and for me to find another vet.she hung up on me. I called back.she never answered. I called emergency #.with a recording to leave a number and somebody would call back within 15 min.

I NEVER got a call back. something bad happened to my pet and it's yet to be known. she had a bad experience while in their care.she is still not her happy go lucky self. voicemail voicemail to come pick up vet as they were unable to do procedure as the lady

These guys are the best! Our dog recently got hit by a car and we were faced with a very tough decision. Everyone there including Dr. Holmes, Dr. Montana and Dr. Cannon (hope I spelled those right!) were so kind and caring explaining our options and ultimately they ended up doing one of the nicest things anyone is ever done for us. They gave us the gift of having our dog back. The Hoover family and Boone cannot thank you guys enough for what you did! .

When I made the appointment over the phone last week I asked how much it was going to be and they said $69 and I said oh great by the end of the appointment it was $160 something dollars so I definitely wasn't expecting that but what the price quote they gave me was just for the office visit not for everything that Nilo had done which was unexpected I think they should have told me the price to include everything when I asked how much it was going to be so I was pretty caught off guard. But the visit was great and the doctor was great and all the people are great!

My only complaint would be the prices, but its worth the peace of mind knowing my dogs are seeing the best veterinary lake county has to offer.

While they are crazy-busy (because they are so well regarded and in-demand I believe) when you get to talk to them they are the best. they do a million and one things every day to make an animals life, and their owners, better. crazy, yes, worth it? Absolutely! Huge hearts with brains, experience and craft to match. 5 stars.

Critical: Professionalism, Responsiveness Marci or Marcy is unprofessional. I didn't know I was signing up to be her therapist when I got on the phone with her. If your having a bad day just take a mental health day or leave work early so you don't spread your negativity around. Best of luck to you Marci

I am thrilled beyond words with the care that Norsled rescue Hooper received. He was shot in the back leg, shattered the bone to the point where we resigned ourselves to the fact that he would be an amputee. The leg went untended for over six weeks. We heard about Wasson and called. Most vets are so jam packed it would take weeks. Dr. Susan Cannon took him in within 3 days.

The day Hooper was supposed to be amputated, Dr. Cannon called me in the morning. She said she felt she could plate the leg and save it. Did we still want to amputate? WOW! For a very reasonable cost compared to Bay Area. I was shocked since the injury was old and the bone very fragmented. Sure enough, not only did she save the leg, she kept within her estimate, threw in all the medications and the stapled wound looks beautiful. Four paws up for this amazing surgeon. We are very very grateful Dr. Cannon. I give Dr. Cannon 10 stars

I was in camping in the area when my dog Stitch got a foxtail up his nose. I called every clinic in the area and Wasson was the only one able to see my right away. Otherwise I would have had to drive to Santa Rosa area. The took Stitch in shortly after I got there and had his out to me in less than an hour. I have had to him to the vet for a foxtail before and they charged much more, made me wait longer and held Stitch for hours after. I was very grateful for the care, efficiency and fairness of cost at this vet. I would definitely return if needed.

From the bottom of our hearts we can not thank the staff that work here! Our dog needed stitches and you guys were amazing with him! Taking an animal to the vet is never easy under these circumstances but you made him feel better and we thank you so much! We will be bringing him to you from now on along with our other dog! We look forward to continuing business here as you are professional and kind and so understanding!

I had what was an unfortunate and not so great experience speaking to one of the vets at Wasson recently. My dog was having an emergency and his normal vet could not see him. I had already driven down during the night to the emergency vet in Santa Rosa to be turned away so I waited all night for any Lake County vets to be open. I called after 8am and both times I got a voicemail stating the office was closed and if there was an emergency to call the on call vet.

I did so and left a message. Within 20 minutes I got a call back, but instead of trying to help I was told I didn't listen to the voicemail and that the doctor will not return calls while the office is open. I tried to explain that the recording said very clearly the office was closed but the vet did not listen. She berated me for not listening to the message and that it very clearly says if they don't answer they are busy and to call back again.

So I called back the office, five more times, and every time got a message stating that it was closed. I called back the emergency vet and left her a message to let her know that was the case. At least twenty minutes later, well past 8am (I kept trying the phone lines) they finally switched the phones to "open, " around 8:30. The receptionist was very kind and while they were not able to get my dog in, at least she answered and did not use that time to imply I was an idiot who can't listen to a voicemail.

I understand being short staffed, and I get that being on call sucks, but when someone calls in tears because they are afraid their dog will die, following the instructions given by the office voicemail, it's not super helpful to berate them and tell them to follow instructions "properly, " particularly when that person is in fact following the directions they were given.

Absolutely amazing experiences every time we've brought our kitties here. Dr. Jeske is an angel. always takes her time to listen to our concerns and explain everything and truly cares about the animals she works with. We've trusted her with 2 kitty surgeries and plenty of other appointments, and she has gone above and beyond every time for our babies.

Most recently, we found a sick stray kitty and rushed him to Wasson knowing he'd be in good hands. Once again, Dr. Jeske provided the best care and got him stable and ready for adoption. Wasson held him for 2 nights, offered to neuter him for free, and gave us an amazing discount on his care which was unexpected and really appreciated. Truly an exceptional vet office

We are visiting Clearlake for a family vacation and our cat developed a UTI. Wasson told us to bring him right in - a same-day appointment on the day before a major holiday! Did an ultrasound and UA and an antibiotic injection for a great price. And the piece of mind of knowing my cat got appropriate care so quickly while so far from home is priceless!

Always helpful Many years ago they were the only vet in 3 counties who were willing to help my dog. They saved her life at 8 months old. She went on to live to nearly 19yrs! Thanks for helping us then and today.

I was referred to Wasson by Mendocino Coast Pet hospital for a dental procedure. I could not be more grateful of the entire staff here. Between the calls and in person interactions I must have spoken/met 6-7 different people. Every single one of em was awesome! Well worth the two hours I drove to get there! I felt confident my BFF was in great hands. Let's face it Veterinarians aren't cheap.

Just to put some things in perspective though. The cost of the procedure was less than a 1/3 of what the VCA in San Rafael wanted. It wasn't just the savings that brought me here. I just had more confidence in them than my previous Vet. Those of you that live local are quite fortunate to have Wasson in your back yard. Thank you everyone!

Always busy but they do what the can to get you in if your pet needs to be seen. Staff is always friendly and polite. I have always felt like they have taken great care of my dogs. One has been seen several times over the years for ear infection and fox tails in her toes. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is interested in great care for thier pet.

Thanks to the staff at Wesson Memorial Vet! We are visiting from out of the area and our puppy got injured. They were able to squeeze us in and take care of our puppy. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. I really appreciated the assistance's information and tips, and of course Doctor Holmes was great and extremely efficient; can't imagine a better experience

I've been going to Wasson Memorial Vet Clinic for almost 30 years. The veterinarians are all extremely knowledgeable, capable and caring. The office staff and vet techs are terrific. We are so lucky to have a team of excellent people to care for our animals in our little town

I live in Los Angeles, grew up in LC, and bring my dogs all the way from LA to see Cannon. I've always had exceptional experiences at Wasson Memorial and trust Dr. Cannon completely. When folks complain about waiting a long time and high prices, man I can only say they are lucky to live in Lake County and have access to the vet care they do! I will continue to make the long trek to go to a vet I can trust, that vet is Dr. Cannon.

My dog, Gryffin, had a really terrible & rare injury occur when he was just a puppy. I made the 8+ hour drive and brought him right up to Cannon. I am so thankful I did, she took incredible care, fixed him up and he couldn't be a happier/healthier dude today for it. I've also brought in my older and aggressive English Bulldog, Hennessy. My oldest girl is struggling with so many things, but I can't emphasize the dignity of care I received from Dr. Cannon and her staff of vet techs, even after my dog tried to bite them.

Not only that, Dr. Cannon remembered Gryffin and asked about how he was doing. Again, I couldn't be happier with the care I've received here and will continue to drive to Wasson whenever my dogs need it. Thank you Dr. Cannon and thanks to all the incredible vet techs that work with you!

If you even think of going to this clinic save yourself the time. On December 17 2021, I contacted this Clinic to inquire about In-home Euthanasia for my elderly dog which when I had called previously they told me they need a 24 hour notice. when my call was answered that day By Sam front desk help, things started okay until. I explained the situation and I could feel her eyes roll to the back of her head through the phone "laughs" at me and says " I don't know who told you that but it's at least a two week notice!" I say I was told differently a few weeks ago, can you check if there could be any availability? Sam put me on hold, nope, can't do it.

At this point I was pretty damn mad and called her an asshole because of her crappy tone and laughing at the matter. She did not offer any other process or even attempt to explain any other process and was just "Nope". So I went to their Facebook page and expressed my dislike of her attitude. Fast forward to today February 21st. I get a letter, not I'm sorry for they way my employee assisted you, no I got this - Dr. Ms. Wilson Having read your Facebook post it is clear you no longer wish to be a client of Wasson Memorial clinic. Enclosed you will find copies of your pet's records. Hopefully you will find a vet that can satisfy your extra expectations. Sincerely, Susan A Cannon Then I find " Do not see per CSH" written on all my records. And on my dog record a note not explaining the full story of what was said and how she said it. Please, don't take your money here. Take it elsewhere.

Less than satisfactory service. Taking into consideration with COVID19 conditions, I found the intake process overly inefficient. We are to wait in our vehicles and call upon arrival for drop offs between 7:30am & 8am however they refuse to answer the phone before 8 am so that seems to defeat the purpose of checking in before that time. Also the woman who did my intake was very rude and not helpful at all.

I was the first in the parking lot but the last to leave? Customer service is lacking for sure. Out of the two vet options in the area I say go to an out of town vet if you can. Then they got worse when I told them I would pay after I pick her up but they wanted the money up front and when I said I didn't have it till later the woman got even more rude and finally I decided to leave and the woman said find go home then and stormed off. Not recommended you use this vet. Their front desk staff are the worst.

The staff here is so friendly and treats my pet like their own. The cost of care here is appropriate for the area and I have never had to decline the doc's recommendation due to the cost of treatment. The office is practicing social distancing due to covid-19 and comes to your vehicle to fill out paperwork then invites you and your pet to be seen inside, one family at a time. They go above and beyond here.

Awful. Young vets are kind, but dr. Canon is wretched. My two dogs had been cared for there. I always expressed gratitude to the vets and staff. Recently, with COVID we waited in the vet parking lot, two hours past our scheduled appointment time. My dog was stumbling and stuporous. The young vet addressed one problem--a foxtail and diarrhea, great.

The stumbling though, she just rattled off drugs she might consider. I tried to understand the benefits and risks. A while later I brought my dog in again, still stumbling and stuporous. Dr. Canon saw us, instead of treat my dog, she insulted me, told me I was a problem patient, required too much time, and was disagreeable. Her behavior was shocking.

I would have left, but we needed his ear medication and to cure the stumbling. So I did my best to be accommodating and diffuse her antagonism. She did the exam and said he needed a neurologist. So I took him to a neurologist, and a good vet three hours away. He is getting better. I had adopted two kittens from Wasson--dr. Canon begged me to take both, tho I expressed concern that we weren't in the right situation for that.

They told me I can return them at any time if I needed to. Now I need a better situation for the cats. So I called and asked if they can re home them. Dr. Canon did not return my call. I called again today, two weeks later. She got on the phone, told me, " I was ignoring your call, " and proceeded to yell at me and insult me, because all they can do is put the kittens in a cage, they have no place for them. 'Get a new vet!" She yelled at me. 'I already have" I told her. Wasson is overpriced. The abuse from Dr Canon is very destructive. I have had pets for over thirty years and never had an awful vet like this. Do not go to Wasson.

I see the negative reviews about this hospital and my experience taking my best friend here has not been perfect, it can't be as we're not going on vacation we're coming here because she's not well and needs help. I imagine everyone's affected by this pandemic and if you're not experiencing any stress then you're a zombie. They're busy here taking care of our family members and trying to stay safe from getting sick with covid, they do this all week long, put themselves at risk to help our family members.

They all have people and animals to go home to each day after taking care of ours. The worst experience I've had here was being there to put down a family member and the room smelled like poop. That's nothing. I see the people who work here all working as hard and fast as they can to see patients and being thorough about it. I for one don't want to be rushed out of the hospital because someone has a problem waiting for fifteen minutes or so, I want to know that my friend gets the best care when she has to come.

I want to wake up he next day and go for a walk with her. I appreciate all the staff does, more so in this difficult time for all of us. Thank you to everyone working here, be safe and know you're appreciated.

Dr. Holmes is superb! My dog had a knee surgery and they got her in quickly as she had been in pain. They gave her the best care any pet owner could ask for. The entire staff is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this Vet Clinic for any and all pet care!

They are only getting a three star due to their appointments being 30 days out. And their emergency visits are limited and I called one time and needed to bring three dogs in and they told there was a limit to two dogs per emergency visit. So unfortunately, I switched one of my dogs to another vet that were able to get me in that day. I'll probably come back and try them again later this year.

The COVID put a damper on it. But when I did have to do a emergency visit for my bully they had us wait in the parking lot and took the dog in and it was a simple visit if I remember correctly.

Wasson memorial is not what it used to be. I took my dog in for pancrease problems. They make you stay in the parking lot where you cant see what they are doing. My dog came back with red bloody marks on his neck. Dr Dobson is out for just money my dog looks pregnant because of a mast cell tumor. He is a thirteen year old terrier. Dr Dobson is an idiot for not seeing it.

She wanted to give him an ultra sound. To see if he had a mast cell tumor. I had to tell her twice, he did. she said we dont know that'.I told her I did, didnt know about her. Then she got a blood test knowing the results would be skewed because of his pancrease. She does this every day, knowingly I bet. I got the numbers and called her on it after.

She admitted it. The numbers are skewed. Then she wanted to hold him over night and I said give me some pain pills for him. She said he wasnt ready for that. Double speak. They didnt put enough water in my dogs back and he was dehydrated again in 6 hours, I have had this same procedure on another two dogs. She is an opportunist who cares nothing for your animal. She doesnt have an intimate relationship with the truth. I am going to fight my bill on my credit card.

HORRIBLE PLACE BEWARE! If you love your pet stay clear of this greedy group. We are in the middle of dealing with Coronavirus and we bring our lathergic doggy so sick to these people and first they charge us an emergency visit extra fee even though i called ahead of time and it was way before 5pm and our visit totaling $130 all for them to say well we don't know what's wrong with him and its concerning however we can do blood work for $608.are you kidding me?

They give us 2 meds one being an antibiotic and one medication for ulcers that is not FDA approved. How are they sending us off with these meds without even knowing what's wrong? PURE GREED DURING THIS PANDEMIC we all are trying to survive.now we are out $130 our dog is damn near dying we still don't know what's wrong and who knows if these meds they sent us off with will be what causes him to worsen.100% Negligent I will be filing a formal complaint with the California Veterinarians Board. This is so sad.we are all out of work and struggling and we get robbed because we want what's best for our 4-legged family member.

Yikes. Avoid this place if possIble. The first time I went here Was during the fire in geyserville of 2019. I just needed a nail trim The first time I went there they were rude and way over charged for a simple nail trim. Not only that I told them my dog was not fond of men and they gave my dog a guy tech and completely mangaled his nails. After my dog seemed terrified and skiddish.

I thought maybe it was because he's not at his normal place. I called to complain and they didn't do anything to make it right or apologize they just said "OK I'll tell the manager" which to me is really poor customer service to not even apologize. I took him again today due to no other choice and they were extremely rude from the second I walked up. Biggest attiitude from office staff.

I asked the guy to use the Dremel. $33 dollars later for a nail trim and there was no informative price about adding a Dremel to a nail trim. My usual vet charges $24 including a Dremel. His nails were barely taken down and I mentioned it to the guy And he says " yeah well I'm sorry" and I kept complaining. He took my dog back and him and another girl took the nails down a little bit more.

Then a female comes out and proceeds to say "here's some cards for groomers they should be able to help you next time." She tried to tell me his nails were too hard to do without hurting him but my usual vet does them without inflicting any pain and gets them a lot shorter than what they are now, after the visit at Wasson today. My dog also came out stressed and scared and skiddish again.

My dog is never like that unless I come to this place my dog even curled up next to me on the couch when we got home after this visit, which he also never does after the vet. Please avoid this place if you can!

Definitely off putting experience with them. I mean I guess when your on the phone with a dog emergency the first words you wanna hear is it will be $200 cash up front and will need to be paid in full for surgery or anything done same day. I get money is important but the attitude was so uncalled for. Never would suggest this place!

I have now transported at a minimum 8 dogs to and from this clinic for Dogwood Animal Rescue Project for our serious orthopedic rescues. They are caring, loving and fabulous staff and Doctors. The improvements and success rates we have experienced with them is almost nothing short of a miracle.

Had a great first time experience with this hospital. The staff is very busy, but, organized and polite. Dr Holmes is very caring with our dog and easy to talk with. We travelled an hour because they have a great reputation when it comes to potentially serious health concerns (possible cancer). Had a concerning red lump on our dogs face and he removed it within that initial visit to have it sent out for biopsy. I had a gut feeling that it should be removed and was very happy that he agreed and was able to do it so promptly. Great Doctor and great hospital.
