Medical emergencies can be a frightening experience for your pet and family, so we want to make this challenging time as effortless and stress-free as possible. When you arrive, your pet's condition will be evaluated by one of our Emergency Veterinary Technicians to determine its severity (critical vs. stable). Similar to the triage process in human hospitals, critical cases are always attended to first. If your pet is in stable condition, you may be asked to wait in our comfortable waiting area until an Emergency Veterinarian is available.
We want to make sure your pet receives the best care possible. We also know that while some emergencies are easily recognized, others are more subtle and difficult to identify. If you are unsure whether your pet needs emergency attention, visit our Emergency or Contact Us page immediately. In addition to emergency services, VESH is also a specialty referral center with board-certified specialists in Advanced Diagnostics, Surgery, Oncology, Internal Medicine, and Dermatology. Evaluating and repairing trauma and treating complex diseases often requires advanced medical equipment and professional expertise that is typically only found in a specialty hospital like ours. The Surgical Department of VESH is headed byDr. John A. Benson, a board-certified veterinary surgeon specially trained in orthopedic and soft-tissue surgery. Dr. Michele Kudisch joined the VESH Surgical Department in a part-time capacity in February 2019. Depending on your pet's medical concerns, surgery may be the best course of action to keep them healthy.
