Services
Veterinary Dentistry & Oral Surgery of NM, LLC is proud to serve the state of New Mexico, as well as southern Colorado, eastern Arizona, and west Texas, and have done so for over 15 years! Our team is committed to educating our clients, as well as the local Veterinarian community in how to keep your pets' dental oral health, healthy year-round with good nutrition, regular checkups, and home care.
Kris Bannon, DVM, FAVD, DAVDC received her veterinary medical degree from Texas A&M University in 1998. She worked in a small animal hospital in Santa Fe, NM for ten years before starting the first veterinary practice in New Mexico dedicated to the oral health needs of our companion animals. In 2008, she was the first veterinarian in the state of New Mexico to earn the title Fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry (FAVD). She became a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College (DAVDC) in 2010.
Originally from the Midwest, Dr. Littles received her veterinary degree from Purdue University. She moved to New Mexico several years ago where she had been practicing as a mixed animal veterinarian. Knowing that oral health is important in both large and small animals, she pursued extra courses to learn how to give her patients that best oral health care possible.
Above, Dr. Bannon is performing two root canals on a captive tiger at the Wildlife Waystation in Sylmar, CA. Dr. Bannon joined a team of veterinarians and veterinary dentists who volunteered their time and supplies to perform much needed dental care on a variety of captive wild animals. This "Veterinary Dentists without Borders" is coordinated by the Peter Emily International Veterinary Dental Foundation.

Found a poor helpless baby bird that fall from the nest. Wasn't sure where too take it so i took it here, as soon as i walked in with it in a box, no one was willing to ask if i needed help they were rude and stuck up. I was immediately asked if it was wildlife to which i replied yes. Then they rudely said we don't take wildlife and i said oh ok thats fine.

Because of course i understand it has a possibility of getting the other patience sick. Finally a nice woman that works there gave me a number to wildlife rescue to help me get help for the bird. She was the only nice lady there. Very grateful for her. Other than that i will never take any of my pets to this vet because of how rude the others were. Very disappointed.

Without question, the most professional, high quality and patient and service oriented vet office I have ever been to. Dr. Bannon is excellent at what she does, and takes care of your pet as if it were her own. Excellent experience, transparent fees, and they took great care of my dog like no one else has. Thanks to a great team for everything!

I've never had a vet experience like I did today at this office. I've been waiting for months for an appointment (not the office fault) and so glad I waited! Nina, Conner, Becky, and Dr. Littles were super responsive and transparent from the moment I walked in at 8 am and brought my dog home at 5 pm. My dog had multiple extractions, a root canal, and a cleaning amongst other complementary treatments and the price for everything was great.

I was given 4 updates over the course of the day, financial help, and the doctor sat with me at the end of the procedure with photos and x-rays and explanation of the procedure and after-care. I'll never go anywhere else and will recommend this office to everyone who cares about their pets! The photo of my girl and folder of records was such a cute touch as well!

My small terrier had a ruptured abscess. The staff and doctors were so good with him and did great work on the abscess and the cleaning. He was there and back at the end of the day and I got regular updates throughout the process. They also went over item by item of my bill with me and made sure I was comfortable with all of the procedures. I felt very comfortable that he was in good hands and that I understood every part of the process.

Dr. Bannon and her staff are just the best ever. My cat Sylvester was diagnosed with very severe gingivitis by my regular vet. She recommended Dr. Bannon, and that was the best recommendation ever given to me. Dr. Bannon not only was up front about Sylvester's oral issues and the cost of treatment, she even called my regular vet and discussed Sylvester's condition. Yes, I was charged with a consultation fee, which Dr. Bannon reversed on the final bill because she did the work. Doctors, vets, plumbers, electricians do the same thing; they charge you for the consultation, then reverse that fee if they do the work. Why should vets be any different? Please use Dr. Bannon. She is a wonderful dental vet and her staff people are absolutely the kindest and best anywhere.

Great communication, excellent care, and a five-star team! I'm a vet and had to bring my own animal here for surgery to remove an aggressive oral tumor. From my first phone call to schedule a consult to surgery day itself to the follow-up post-op, I really can't say enough good things about this group of vets, techs, and support staff. Thank you!

A friend recommended FDOC for my 9-year-old standard schnauzer who was having dental issues. I couldn't be more satisfied with they work that they did. The doctor and staff were extraordinary: friendly, kind, patient and gave us detailed information. I will be taking my other dog for the same wonderful care in a the near future.

LOVE THEM! Our poor pup needed some serious oral surgery. I felt like we were cared for and respected the whole time. Our puppy was initially pretty scared (and has a history of biting), and they worked with him so he felt comfortable and safe the entire way through the process. It was a relief for me that the staff was so positive and patient with our whole group. Many, many thanks to all!

My primary Vet said it best, "Dr. Bannon can do in 10 minutes what might take us an hour. With a dog under anesthesia, that's pretty important." The practice is competent, kind, cautious, and willing to accommodate as they did for me with my beagle. I sat w/Jake in their comfort room for a couple hours while he had an IV drip pre-surgery. Bottom line, they are experts in dentistry with extensive knowledge and skill that far surpasses your primary Vet. Trust me, I'm an overly protective dog mom!

Highly recommended by this very picky pet parent! After many years spent sans-dental due to a terrible experience at another clinic, I reluctantly brought my best friend (a petite senior Chihuahua X with extreme sensitivities) to VDOSNM for a much-needed teeth cleaning and extraction. It's official: I will never take her or any of our animals anywhere else!

I couldn't possibly hold Dr. Rossi and her amazing staff in higher regard after this experience. Not only were they exceptionally knowledgeable, patient, and considerate of the holistic management model we have chosen for our sweet girl - they were incredibly kind and gentle towards us both to boot. It's very obvious that they care about what they do, why they do it, and how they do it.

My pup came back to me with an appetite and wagging tail (practically unheard of after any kind of clinic visit), adorned in a colorful bandana and an artfully decorated pink "band-aid" complete with teal flower. It is literally invaluable to know that we have friends who will care for our beloved fuzzy family in the same way that we do. I am so grateful. My heart overflows.
