According to statistics by the American Humane Association, of the 7.6 million companion animals that enter the shelter system every year, 10-15% are given up due to behavioral issues reported by their owners. If you're a pet owner who thinks your dog or cat has some bad habits, know that abandonment is not the answer.
Thanks to modern medicine, our pets are also enjoying longer, healthier lives. If your pet is gearing up for retirement, there are a few things to keep in mind to make sure their senior years are spent happy and healthy. While the exact age of when your pet reaches his or her geriatric years varies with species, breed and size, there are a few things to take into consideration.

Dr. Harris saw one of our cats and was very helpful with questions and listening to what was happening with the cat. The staff is very helpful and friendly as well! If I had to mention anything negative it would just be that the pricing is a bit expensive. But all vets are. Other than that a 5 star visit for sure!

My cat has kidney disease is out of her K/D food and they will not send me her prescription. We are now forced to feed her regular food that may kill her. Called twice and the receptionist refused to help. I am in tears over this. Please go somewhere else if you have an elderly pet. She was seen less than a year ago and they will not send a simple prescription.

We have been patients for 5 years now and I have finally had enough with this practitioner. Our dog needed prompt attention due to a fall but, they cannot see her for a month. This is outrageous. What is the point of even calling them if the dog will be dead in the time it takes to get treatment? I suspect their inability to see patients in a prompt manner, is due to their COVID protocols. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY A HOSPITAL FOR HUMANS HAS STOPPED ENFORCING THESE PROTOCOLS YET A VET WOULD PREFER THEIR PATIENTS TO DIE?

I just recently moved to the RGV and found it difficult to find a vet clinic that actually seemed to want my business. I believe I called all of them. Valley Animal Hospital receptionist was so nice and caring, and the vet tech & vet are just great. I'm happy to have found a place to bring my 7 fur babies for their healthcare! Thank you

The veterinarian here was great, he came out and explained to me exactly what he thought was going on with my dog as well as provided her medication and she was 100% better after visit. They also accepted me as a walk-in same day which was great. It was a little pricey, but worth my dog getting treated and better.
