Our facility has served the San Diego community for over 50 years and is a 50-year member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Our friendly, caring, experienced staff strives to provide the best possible care and service for you and your pet. Once your appointment is scheduled, we ask that you fill out our New Client Information Sheet and Examination Questionnaire and bring them with you.
The team at Turquoise Animal Hospital is comprised of highly trained and experienced animal health professionals who have a genuine love for working with pets. Our staff treats every patient with the highest quality of medical care as well as a gentle touch. Dr. Melissa Reed, DVM graduated from the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2011.

I was super excited to bring my dog here after reading all the great reviews but was incredibly disappointed at our visit there. The front desk staff and nurses were so nice and helpful, but the vet we saw was what ruined the experience. Dr. Solorzano did not listen to me, tried to diagnose the problem in 30 seconds, was very rude, and didn't know how to handle my dog at all.
I was appalled. She immediately jumped to suggesting surgery without considering any other options first or considering if the issue could be stemming from something else entirely. I am only giving 2 stars because the rest of the workers there were so kind and I hope the other Doctors are better and live up to their 5 star reviews, but Dr. Soloranzo absolutely did not. Worst vet experience I have ever had.

I brought my tortoise here for a second opinion, after the initial vet I went to left me with a bad taste in my mouth. When I took my tort here, I was greeted by all the staff who were very friendly. The vet that saw us was very straightforward about options for treatment and was more than willing to walk me through everything that was going on. I am so glad I found this vet for my tiny tort. I really feel that he is getting/ going to get the care he needs and I'm comfortable enough to reach out with questions and concerns. I can't recommend this place enough.

After 20+ years of bringing my dogs here with great service, the staff has changed and so has the service. Last two times I've need to bring my dog in they were too full to see her. Dr Reed is great but she probably will never get the message we called when our dog, who she previously saw and prescribed medication for was bleeding out of her nose BECAUSE front desk doesn't care! I wouldn't recommend this practice to anyone!

In the many States we've lived, I don't think we have across a more welcoming and gentle Veterinary place as Turquoise. From your first appointment there, you know your loved pet will be taken care of by those with genuine hearts. In times of stress it's a comfort to know that there's at least one place you can go where the smiles are heartwarming and the staffs professionalism is top notch.

I changed to Turquoise Veterinary hospital due to their quick response during Covid, they squeezed in my girlfriends cat for an emergency while other places, including her own vet wouldn't see her cat. I now bring my dog and 2 cats here and have been very pleased with their friendly atmosphere and professionalism. I used to work for my dad's vet business so I am well aware of how hospitals work.

I'm a proud owner of two beautiful guinea pigs. After a really really bad experience with another vet that claimed they were experienced with them (they were not and charged me 600 dollars for a shoulder shrug no joke), I decided to come to this vet when one of them got a URI. They were absolutely phenomenal. Not only better assistance but way better prices. Look no where else, these people love what they do and you will love them.

This was the worst vet experience EVER! They injured my sweet lap cat during the exam and my other cat is now growling and hissing and not behaving normally at all. My cats are really sweet easy cats and have never been treated so poorly or rough handled to the point of injury at vet! I never even imagined that something like this could happen! turquoise vet should be shut down for abusing animals!

I have always received great service at Turquoise. Staff is friendly and professional and they have always explained everything very well. I have never had a problem getting an appointment. Now that I live in Menifee CA I need to decide if I want to continue driving to San Diego for nail trims and exams. I hate to give them up.

I CANNOT say enough POSITIVE things about this place! I called 7 other per hospitals before finding Turquoise and I am so glad I did. From the initial phone call to set the appointment to the picking up of my reptile, they were fantastic! Their customer service and care for animals is more than anyone could ask for. Dr. Reed was very informative, kind and very knowledgeable about my lizard.
She gave me step by step directions on what to do and what to look for in the next few days. Overall, I am so happy I went there and recommend others to bring their animal companions if they are in need of care. Thank you Turquoise Animal Hospital for everything!
