Treuting Veterinary House Calls

I never give poor reviews, but for this I will make an exception. We used My Home Vet to have our dog Hudson put to sleep. A difficult thing to do and why we decided to have it done at home. On arrival, the vets seemed a little rushed but I put this to one side. They explained the procedure. A small injection to put him to sleep, and then another intravenous injection to stop his heart.

We got comfortable to sit with him as he fell asleep and the vet gave him the sedation. It was at this point that they decided to ask if we'd like to pay now or after he had died. I couldn't believe it. Obviously not wanting to have to do it after he was gone my wife then ran about the house looking for her payment card while our beloved pet was experiencing his last wakeful moments. Luckily she made it back a few moments before he closed his eyes for the last time.

It took me a week to call up and give feedback on what I could only assume was a mistake in the procedure - surely it's not planned procedure to set a ticking clock like this? Sadly I was told this is what they have been told is the "best time" to take the payment. I was stunned. The lady then told me they're looking at ways to take payment ahead of time.

So it obviously can't be the best time to take payment if they're changing it. If you plan to use My Home Vet for end of life. I'd be very careful to make sure you have asked to specifically pay in advance so you can avoid this horrible situation - one which they seem to think, is perfectly acceptable.

Wonderful service. I would highly recommend My Home Vet to anybody with rabbits. One of my two buns gets extremely stressed to the point of going into GI stasis when visiting the vets because of some previous animal hospital trauma. Both the vet and nurse were extremely friendly and clearly knowledgeable about rabbits (you'd be surprised how many vets have poor rabbit knowledge).

Ten minutes after their check-up and vaccination, both of my buns were eating and behaving normally - something they definitely wouldn't be doing if they'd visited my regular vet!

We have just had our beloved dog Charlie put to sleep after 15 years of loving him.we was not sure of how to go about it so I emailed my home vet and the girls was absolutely brilliant they talked us through the procedure and everything they said happened and the girls was very sympathetic and caring and this morning I received a card of condolence from the girls and some forget me not flower seeds which are now planted in a little garden of remembrance for our boy thank you so much girls. We highly recommend them.

Obviously not a good time to meet Maaike and Sarah as our pet millie was being put down but they handled everything with care, consoled us as a grieving family and the card sent afterwards was beautiful, we will plant the forget me not seeds in our garden x thank you.

The service and kindness Olivia & Team provide is absolutely second to none. My situation was rather unique, trying to organise vet care from Australia for my fathers extremely unwell cat in the UK. Olivia made the process so simple. Its very distressing when your pride and joy decides its time to visit rainbow bridge. Allowing them cross with dignity and respect, in their own home is a blessing. Thank you MHV, you made a distressing time that much more bearable. I cannot recommend MHV highly enough.

Can't rate these guys highly enough! I took my French Bulldog for a titre test and vaccine booster today - I have NEVER been able to get this done at our vets without having him sedated. Today, these two fabulous women made him feel very welcome and remained totally calm and professional as they dealt with my very anxious and aggressive dog! No sedation needed and we were done within a matter of minutes. I'd recommend these guys to anyone and can't thank you enough for making my day today!

The best service we have ever had! We were users of Pets at Home veterinarians in Huddersfield and these days we call to book an appointment for the annual vaccination of our 16-year-old cat Mambru. Pets at Home told us that there was a national shortage of vaccines and that we could only have the appointment for the month of February 2022. We worry because the vaccines expired on December the 23th of 2021 and our kitten is a foreign kitten, therefore, maintaining the vaccination on time is one of the requirements to enter and leave any country.

We decided to search online for other vets and luckily we came across My Home Vet. We called yesterday (Wednesday) and they gave us the appointment for today Friday. Incredible! We are very grateful, since they came to our house (very punctual by the way), vaccinated our kitten, weighed her, checked her teeth, and her heart. The appointment was extremely fast (I think no more than 10 minutes) I would have liked to talk a little more hahaha, but considering the COVID situation and how exposed they are going house to house, it seems very sensible.

Thank you very much Maaike and Olivia! We were able to pay for the service by card without using cash, they gave me the payment receipt and even sent me the invoice by email. More cannot be asked! Companion Care Vets just lost a customer.

Thank you Maaike and Olivia for your kindness and professionalism. We recently went through the extremely difficult experience of having our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel 'Wednesday' put to sleep on Friday. I would like to say a very big thank you to both Olivia and Maaike at My Home vet. They really reassured myself in what was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do it was a very upsetting traumatic situation for myself. Olivia and Maaike you both showed care and compassion for my handsome gorgeous Harley whom was our world for the past 11 and half years.

I only wish I had found you sooner as then Harley may not have had to endure many stressful visits to the vets and it may have been a more positive outcome It is so so much better in my opinion that pets are seen in their own home environment as they can find it stressful visiting a vet at the surgery. Also it is important for our loved pets to have consistency which Harley didn't get visiting the surgery every time we went it was a different vet with different advise. Thank you again My Home Vet I will highly recommend you to my friends and family and should I ever decide to get another dog would definitely use your services.

Thank you for seeing my OAP bunnies. My registered vet wasn't doing home visits but pointed me in the direction of my home vet. It was the most stress free vets appointment my buns have ever had. No need to stress them out playing catch the rabbit to be stuffed in a pet carrier for a car journey to a clinical and strange environment. The ladies who attended were Professional, punctual, efficient and just generally lovely. It was nice to see a vet who also has experience with rabbits. Thank you again.
