Town and Country Veterinary Clinic (TCVC) is a full-service veterinary hospital providing care for large and small animals. We specialize in food and fiber animals, including cattle, sheep, goats, llamas and alpacas. In addition, we provide sound routine, preventative and emergency care for equine patients. Our goal is to provide the highest quality veterinary care in the northern Front Range for livestock, equine and domestic species, including sound routine, preventative and emergency care. While our focus is to prevent disease through consulting on proper husbandry, vaccination and nutrition, we also offer a comprehensive sick and emergency animal service.
Services
Over half our appointments occur at the clinic in Platteville. We handle everything from routine scheduled appointments to non-scheduled emergencies at the clinic. We have a heavy hydraulic chute, alley-ways, and accompanying holding pens to allow for safe handling of cattle. We prefer to see large or fractious cattle, particularly when processing bulls, here at the clinic.
Opportunity: The amount of exposure to a pathogen, or disease-causing agent. This can be managed by proper housing, isolation of sick animals within a herd, and herd surveillance. These strategies can help minimize the exposure of your herd. Pathogen Virulence: Every pathogen has a different mode and efficiency of transmission from one animal to another.
These are general guidelines for preventive care measures that you should take to minimize disease or illness in your herd. Note: From both health and implementation standpoints, vaccination programs work best when customized to your individual operation. For this reason, we recommend that you contact us to set up an appointment to discuss your vaccination schedule.
The best way to contact our clinic is to call 970.785.2284. During regular business hours (Mon-Fri, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.), follow the voicemail prompts to be connected with one of our receptionists. In an emergency outside regular business hours, call the clinic at 970.785.2284 and follow the recorded prompts to page the emergency doctor.

The new staff in the office is rude at best. The ladies that used to manage this office made it a pleasure to work with this practice. Now, getting an appointment or even paying your bill is difficult to say it nicely

One of the best Vet clinics around. Great with large and small animals, caring and compassionate.

Doc Thompson is awesome. His staff are also a pleasure. We raise show lambs, and to date Tim is the only vet on the Frontrange and Eastern Colorado area who is up to date and extremely knowledgeable in the treatment and care of sheep. The other was the late Doc Hyde, who is missed by all. Dr Thompson fits the bill and I highly recommend for all my species needs.he is also a very nice man.
