A full service equine veterinary practice serving South Puget Sound for over 30 years, Tacoma Equine has been proudly owned and operated by Dr. Linda Hagerman since 2000. All little girls love horses, right? Dr. Linda Hagerman was smitten from a young age with caring for all animals, but had a special affinity for horses.
Tacoma Equine Hospital is a full service equine veterinary practice with 24 hour emergency services. We strive to meet the needs of all equestrians, from top level performance horses to the beloved family pet. We emphasize preventative care for your horse, as it will increase their quality of life and performance.
We hope to never see your horse in an emergency situation and therefore we emphasize the following preventative care:. A yearly physical exam is important for your horse's overall health and well-being. During an exam, the doctor can detect any abnormalities that could potentially lead to future health problems.
A horse's teeth continue to erupt throughout their life. However, despite this ongoing growth, they have only a finite amount of reserve tooth available. As such, lack of routine dental care, abnormal dental conformation and other problems can speed up the wearing process, leading to early tooth loss and other systemic problems (such as colic) from being unable to effectively chew their food.

I want to give my heartfelt thanks & gratitude to the Equine Veterinary Doctors and the fabulous assistants at Tacoma Equine Veterinary Clinic who came to my 33 year old's rescue when no other Clinic would/could when a whacked out farrier having a tantrum sliced his sole & it wouldn't stop bleeding profusely. I called Tacoma Equine back & even though they were slammed too. they sent someone who saved him from bleeding out!
Over the next few years their staff of amazing Doctors & Assistants were always available (and I called them often - since my 26 year old had to be put down and people just kept feeding my 33 year old 'treats' as well - I didn't want the same thing to happen to him) In my opinion Equine Veterinary Doctors & their Assistants are a breed apart in this all too often world of narcissism & greed - in my heart of hearts they are the very definition of selfless philanthropists! Dr Linda Haggerman, the owne, is herself incredibly well educated, caring and unassuming and obviously manages her Hospital/Clinic with exemplary aplomb!
The advice given today, the patience and the love offered - helped me to feel not so alone in making a most painful decision - thank you from the bottom of my heart Dr Fluchoft.

I am so grateful for Tacoma Equine, and Dr Hagerman, Dr Howard and Dr Galen. I had been struggling with a lameness issue with my young mare for months and was considering putting her down if I couldn't find and fix the problem. The vets at Tacoma Equine brought patience and considerable knowledge to our issue and Found the Problem! Some shoeing changes and an injection and my little mare is going better than ever. I cannot thank Dr Hagerman and her staff enough.

It's always so difficult in loosing your pet, they are a big part of you and your family. My experience as hard as it was, was handled very professionally, with alot of empathy, and compassion. Absolutely love them! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Tacoma Equine. Nobody plans to have a emergency but in the event that you do call them first. They are quick to respond, reasonably priced and 100% dedicated to the care of your horse If 10 stars where a option that's what I'd rate them at.so here's 5 more Sincere thanks.
