Most pet dogs are spayed(females) or neutered(for males) to remove reproductive organs and prevent pregnancy. But health issues provide other compelling reasons for spaying and neutering dogs. Female dogs have a high incidence of cancers of reproductive system. Spaying removes the ovaries and the uterus, preventing the production of estrogen, which leads to most of the reproductive cancers. A vast majority of unsprayed older females contract a life-threatening infection of the uterus, call pyometra.
Next to you and your family, your veterinarian is one of the most important people in your dog's life. You should identify a veterinarian for your new dog before you bring it home and arrange for a first appointment as soon as possible. The first vet visit gives you and your veterinarian an opportunity to establish your dog's baseline level of health and identify any potential long-term or chronic health problems.
Many aging or ill pets are euthanized by a veterinarian of the pet owner's choice or may die on their own. Then you have the difficult decision of what to do with the pet's remains. How do you decide what to do with your special pet's remains when your heart is hurting? The decision is up to you, the pet's owner and trusted friend.

Decently priced and I really love the workers here! But I haven't been coming here long enough to say much more than that. But what I will say is, the quality of vets around Mid-Michigan have been on a serious decline in my opinion. This place though is one of the better ones left around this area for sure!

My daughters kitten had a huge hernia and started to wobble. I called surrey Friday morning right at opening and they got her right in. We got there and they rushed her into surgery. They were awesome. And went above and beyond for our little girl. They spayed her while she was already under. We went to pick her up Friday and the tech and I were worried about her and her pain level so they kept her 2 extra days to make sure she was ok. very reasonably priced. Honey is on the road to recovery. I called today with a question and they called back right away. Couldn't ask for better service.

They take good care of my dogs. I have taken them to Surrey vet since I moved to the area 5 years ago. Dr. B is an excellent vet. I trust him completely with the health of my furry friends. I would recommend Surrey vet to anyone. If I had one gripe, its that sometimes getting through on the phone can be difficult. I understand they are busy, but so am I.

They have given my dog a prescription. She has to take 3 pills a day for life, and the pharmacy will only give me 30 days worth at a time. So I frequently need to call to have them call the pharmacy for refills. If they don't answer, my little girl can't get her medicine.

The staff has always been kind and considerate. We have used them for many pets. Other than rabies they did not care that my cats didn't have all their shots (something we have chosen not to do as they are indoor only)! We have also laid pets to rest with them and they are very respectful and even give you a few moment alone with the pet to say good bye. They are also the cheapest vets in the area!

Brandy is amazing. I really appreciate her patience and understanding. The vet was amazing, he made a very bad situation bearable and he knows how to break bad news. He is very compassionate and understood my pups conditions and went out of his way to make her comfortable. You have no idea how much that means to me. I'm very happy with the receptionists' patience as they deal with many calls a day and are still very polite and take time to answer your questions.

I disliked the ultrasound tech that lectured me on staying calm like I had no idea what I was doing. My dog doesn't like small rooms so as soon as she got into the tiny ultrasound room she was nervous and wanted out. The ultrasound tech then proceeded to lecture me on how I was stressing out my dog because I was stressed, it was very unprofessional, especially when I was trying to focus on staying calm and keeping my dog relaxed during a bad situation. Dogs get stressed out for more than one reason. Overall Surrey Vet is top notch. They care about your pet and do their best to make sure they recieve the best care. Thank you very much.

So sad to say I'll never come back here after a man at the front desk told me to give my cats up at the humane society and that if I even tried ordering off chewy they would decline it. I have never ever had a bad experience here until then. He never spoke to me with any respect and I let him pull of out of character and I'm beating myself up for that.

Now I have to try and pay $80+ per cat just to get them seen then medication just to save my cats lives. I truly can't believe this just happened. Mind you I drive all the way from Saginaw just to come to this vet because we loved it.

Very busy place! That means they're well liked! Awesome facility very helpful and knowledgeable! Been going here for 9+years! My pet children have been seen for minor to life threatening conditions and each time they've done their best! Downfall is the check out process, as long as it takes to check-in be seen by vet it takes twice that to get checked out. Other than that I have and will continue to recommend Surrey!

I have been using Surrey Vet for a few years now. I am getting more and more unhappy with them. In fact so unhappy that I am researching new vets. Even if I have to go to Mt Pleasant or Midland to see a vet. #1 They are getting just too big for there breaches. Called to make an appointment, got answering machine. Sorry too busy to take your call, call this number to text and they will call when available. #2 I understand they are busy, but the overbooking is really getting worse.

I have never really seen a vet on the time of my appointment. The wait times are getting worse, even up to almost an hour and then have to wait quite a while to pay my bill. #3 Called to check out my dogs rabies shot expiration, Certificate for a 3 years shot showed a 5 year renewal date, took forever for the person I was talking to to research it and he said it was right, but didn't sound really sure. Rabies shots are really important, so I am going to have to research this more myself or schedule an appointment and have to pay them to find out. #5 I will say that the vets and most of the staff have been great with my pets.

They have been good to all our animals! Dixie mae, Timber and Bailey butt. Wait till they meet our cat Chevy. Hes the one to be scared of haha. They have reasonable prices and dont gough for unnecessary procedures. Only gave a 4 star because of the wait time to check out can be longer then the visit and with a large malamute a puppy or a old scared dog it's just way to long.

Great compassion and understanding with Bailey's food allergy problem. Also, a real suggestion how to handle her separation anxiety. Thanks a million.

I have been bringing my pets to Surrey Vet Clinic for the past 20 years and cannot express enough how much I love it. My parents moved to the Clare area in 1999 or 2000, and though I have never lived there permanently (I have stayed there for 6-8 months at a time) I began to take my pets to Surrey Vet too. Living in the suburbs north of Detroit currently means that my drive to the office is at least 2.5 hours, but my parents (who have moved to be closer to family) and I now happily drive it. leaving well before 6am to go see them I could go on and on about just how much love the clinic. but it isn't necessary, I think the 20 years and 2.5 hour drive is more telling than any personal anecdote could.

I can't say enough good things about Surrey Vet Clinic. They have always treated my animals with respect, care and love. They have treated me with respect and care as well. I have been to other veterinarians and have been treated well however I've felt like they didn't care about my animals as much as Surrey and their prices weren't as good as Surrey. Surrey saved my pet when another wanted to put her down (in an emergency setting).

I chanced it over the weekend and Monday Surrey rushed her into surgery and saved her life. I will forever be grateful. They have a nice new establishment. Staff is friendly and courteous. I would definitely recommend Surrey!

Have been a customer for over 10 years. Since the change in location and ownership there has been a serious lack of customer service and care. On three separate visits in the last year we have been treated as inconveniences by the front office staff. (Shut up and sit down attitude.) Extremely disappointed in the downturn in customer service. Transferring care of all our pets as of today.
