Dr. John Hauge established Stafford Veterinary Hospital in his home back in 1965. With the help of many friends, family, patients, and clients it has evolved into what it is today - a staff of very dedicated, loyal people with one goal in mind: to practice the most up-to-date quality of medicine possible.

Annual dental exams and cleanings are recommended to protect your pet from many health problems and help them maintain a healthy and clean mouth. Proper diet and nutrition can help your pet fight against disease, maintain a proper weight, and promote the overall well-being of your pet. Annual wellness exams evaluate your pets overall health, detect problems before they become serious, and keep them on track to live a long, healthy life. We're equipped to perform routine radiography services to identify many types of illness or injury when pets are sick or suffer a trauma.
Your call will be received by an answering service after hours. Our service will direct you to the closest facility to your home with 24 hour emergency medical care. Follow up care is done at our hospital the next morning.

I went for a surgery consult. The visit was timely, and the doctor was very thorough. All my questions were answered, and they were very nice and patient with my pet. I'll be coordinating care of my pet with our more local vet moving forward. I'm confident that they are providing my pet with the best care. I'd recommend them.

I drive from Toms River just to bring my dog here. I found them through research and the google reviews. Omg, I love the staff here! I am a first time dog mom and while I know some things about dogs, I was not as educated as I assumed. Stafford Staff have been very informative, friendly and patient along the way. Any appointment, they always asked if I had questions and willingly answered them.

They make sure if your pet has a procedure, they follow up. Send email reminders about your upcoming appointment, have decent appointment availability, and are always willing to make things right. Office and foods are always clean!

Our Jack Russell terrier had a cracked dew claw. Called late on Thursday afternoon. We were asked if we needed immediate service as they would have recommended another hospital. We were given an appointment late Friday morning. Dr Pride did a through examination and gave us our options. He was able to immediately operate and our pup was fixed in no time.

I was told to call if we had any issues and received a follow up call inquiring about our pup's recovery. We felt the cost of the services was reasonably and the service and care was excellent!

Every visit is a great experience from Dr. Pride and all his staff. He takes a lot of time and explains any concerns. Very kind and tender to my Heidi. Calls with all test results promptly. I recommend them to everyone.

Our latest visit was for surgery on our furbaby nothing terribly severe but as always, Stafford Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Pride have taken the very best care of Bear. I always have confidence in our Dr. & staff members. We've been with Stafford Veterinary Hospital for almost 20+/- years we wouldn't take our pets anywhere else. After surgery, their office called to check up on Bear and answered our questions and concerns. The next day, our Dr. called to find out how Bear was doing. This is a common practice for their office to call us regarding any visits, lab results, etc.

Professional, caring, reliable, punctual, and friendly staff. Gail was able to schedule my dog a Saturday appointment two days away from the day I called. Veterinarian took the time to listen and evaluate my dog as well as answer all my questions and concerns. Prices are reasonable. Check out was friendly and informative. I left feeling my dog was in good hands and well taken care of.

They deserve NO STARS. Our two dogs have been going to Stafford Veterinary Hospital for the last 15 months. When our older dog was having a problem with his ear, we immediately called our Vet (Stafford Veterinary Hospital) to get an appointment to be seen. He had been suffering with an ear issue for 2 days, and we felt he was getting worse. We were told there were "no appointments available for over two weeks".

We told the person who answered the phone that he needs to be seen because we felt he was getting more sicker by the day. The rude receptionist said "I'm sorry, we have no appointments, and an ear infection is not considered an emergency". First of all, since when does a receptionist diagnose over the phone? Is she the doctor? And how can you let a sick pup have to WAIT for over two weeks when we are explained to you that he was crying and clearly in pain, shaking his head and expelling nasty stuff from his ear? Is this good care? Is this how you take care of your patients?

You consider yourselves a caring Vetinary Hospital to let a sick dog wait to be seen for OVER TWO WEEKS? Shame on you and your establishment. A veterinarian hospital and their employees should be caring and try to help animals, not just say "he"ll be fine". I would never recommend this facility, because clearly they are not professional, not compassionate and do not care about animals.

We love Stafford Vet! The veterinarians here have been so wonderful with our cats that when we adopted a puppy, we knew we wouldn't want anyone else to handle her care. Everyone here, from the minute you call to make an appointment or walk in the door, is helpful, kind, courteous and professional. We couldn't ask for a better experience. Their puppy plans are affordable too. I trust all of the staff here with my animals. You guys are awesome!

If you love your furry family member stay away form this recently converted to corporate mess. I have gone here for close to 20 years and had nothing but the best experiences until it was time to make the hard decision of putting down my 13yr old boxer. She was a patient there since we adopted her(12-1/2 years) When I called for help to end her pain they would do nothing for me. Told me there was nothing they could do no appointments available.

No let's see what we can do, no let me speak to someone. Nothing. They now only care about money. Zero compassion from phone staff. I wouldn't have traded Dr Vanderbrook for anyone. He was always my go to. Now retiring.
