Our radiologists are at the cutting edge of veterinary radiology and research, serving on medical advisory boards, staying in close contact with universities, and reviewing current medical journal research while also actively publishing their own findings.
Missing your best friend? We understand, and we've got you covered-you may watch your buddy snoozing and snacking, via our Cat Cams available Tuesday through Friday 9 AM and 4 PM. Occasionally, the cameras may be turned off during this time while we are attending to our patients, but please do give us a call if they are not turned back on within 15 minutes.
We offer a wide variety of rotations for 4th year veterinary students. The rotations are generally Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. During their externship, students will be given hands on experience with ultrasounds, MRI's, CT's, and nuclear medicine procedures. If you would like more information, or would like to set up a rotation, please contact our extern coordinator Stevie at [email protected], she will be glad to give you more details. In response to the growing demand for educational programs in veterinary medicine, VICSD is developing courses for veterinary technician training.
Dr. Seth Wallack is an on-staff board-certified veterinary radiologist, founder and CEO of VICSD. His work in radioiodine (I-131) therapy for treating feline hyperthyroidism resulted in a new protocol for treatment dosing, and he lectures on this topic regularly at seminars and meetings around the country.
We encourage all veterinarians who have purchased, or are considering purchasing, an ultrasound machine for their hospital to take advantage of our personalized educational opportunities. They are also great learning experiences for sonographers who practice in human or veterinary medicine. Through our ultrasound training options, you will be able to better familiarize yourself with the ultrasound modality and become more confident in your skills.Program: This option consists of one-on-one time with one of our board-certified radiologists at your hospital.

I have a miniature poodle with new onset aortic regurgitation and lethargy requiring a cardiac echo study. St first, I was dissatisfied due to some scheduling issues, but the staff and vet quickly called back to accommodate my boy. The vet apologized profusely but more importantly he dazzled me with his clinical expertise and care with which he approached him.

He took time to explain things carefully and although I am a human radiologist/oncologist with expertise, I learned a thing or two about how dogs are different from their owners biologically and socially. Please, if you're looking around for outstanding academic quality with a staff that cares and goes beyond the mundane scheduling desk, consider Veterinary Imaging Center of San Diego your first choice!

Amazing staff and pet care! I got a referral to do a bone scan here, which is an all day test. They fully explained the procedure and talked me through it and were great about taking lots of time for me. And I have an extremely fearful dog. They were AWESOME with him. Very patient and understanding. And, after his bone scan, the doctor called me, personally, twice.

He needed an ultrasound. The doctor and tech stayed late so my fearful boy wouldn't have to come back the next day. Then, since the tech was busy helping with my insurance forms, the doctor personally brought my dog out, and he sat and talked to me about his bone scan and ultrasound and options. I couldn't be happier with their customer service before the appointment and at the office, the doctor's expertise, time, and attention, and the care of the animals there.
