She received her bachelor's degree in animal and veterinary science from Clemson University in 2009 and completed her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Ross University in 2013. When she's not working, Dr. Anholzer enjoys traveling, video games, camping, and spending time with her husband and their two dogs (Ramona and Gimli) and three cats (Piper, Richard, and Herman).

I moved here from CT in May (2022) and needed to find a vet. These guys offer a free office visit for new patients. I was very happy with all aspects of dealing with them from the friendly office staff to the vet tech and vet that I dealt with. Everyone was super nice and they took care of my dog and really seemed to care about his well being. I also love that they have an app where you can request appointments and will remind you of appointments. The whole experience was great and I would 10/10 recommend using them!

First and foremost, I have never felt MORE in love with a facility or a team of employees in my whole life. From the second I walked in, I was welcomed with smiles, compliments and belly scratches (don't worry, those were for my pup). The front staff made me feel so at ease when Beau, my French Bulldog, decided to leave them a warm, brown present in the waiting area.
When I met with Dr Higgins, I knew then and there that this was a great fit. See, my dog is my first "adult-owned" dog and seeing a vet for the first time was nerve racking. She immediately made me feel incredibly comfortable and reassured me that Beau was doing great and he was healthy! Not to mention, Dr Huggins loved on Beau with kisses and scratches from the second her examination began. Beau is only a year old, so puppy energy is still going on, so imagine my surprise when he was the calmest that I had ever seen him. Every anxious thought or uncertainty about my fur baby's care went out the window. Thank you sooooo much BBVA, I can't thank you enough for your incredible care!

I cant express how amazing this facility and staff are! They were able to accommodate my senior dog for an urgent appointment when his vet was unable to see him. They were so patient and kind! Dr. Higgins was a champ through it all! I cant thank them enough for their kindness and compassion during one of the most heart wrenching times of my life.

We wouldn't bring our black lab, Skye, anywhere else! Dr. Higgins has integrity, compassion, empathy and a responsive listener. The staff at Buzzard's Bay Veterinary are absolutely brilliant! They helped us tremendously when our 10 year old black lab, Shea, suddenly started having nonstop seizures. Dr. Higgins called us many times for updates on Shea's condition as well as ours.
When we had to say goodbye to Shea, I can't even express with words the compassion Dr. Higgins and the amazing staff gave us. We all shed tears. Later that week we received a beautiful handwritten card from Dr. Higgins. The words she wrote were what we needed to hear. I've never had a veterinary doctor write to us after losing a part of our family with a veterinary staff we were with prior to moving to Buzzards Bay. Dr. Higgins card is on our refrigerator as it warms my heart.

The drs, technicians and staff are so great. Every dr I have spoken to about blood work or issues have been so patient with my questions and you can see they care. When we had to put down our love Lilly just a few weeks ago everyone there were so understanding and thorough. About a week or so later we receive a sympathy card that just shows how much the drs and staff care.
I would never go anywhere else for my animals care. I have trust and confidence in what I'm being told and have never felt like it is all about making money. Keep up the great care, love for our animals and support for us fur parents.

Very unhappy. Just moved to the area and needed a new Vet. Brought my puppy here for his first visit and naturally he was excited and was play biting. The vet spoke to me like a child asking me why I didn't bring a toy with me to calm him down.to her surprise I had a toy in my pocket. The toy wasn't as effective as we hoped, but again.he's just a puppy.
That didn't stop her. She asked me to bring a better toy next time and then proceeded to show me muzzle collars on Amazon that I should use on him. She then tried to sell me on a book about clicker training after I told her I had enrolled my puppy in classes at Petco. She told me the classes at Petco aren't as effective as this book. So apparently I'm not buying the correct toys and I'm wasting money on puppy training classes.
She made it known that her way was the best way. I also asked her for a printout of the visit and she looked at me like I had 10 heads. Lastly, on my way out, she said to myself and the vet tech that I was going to remember to bring a better toy next time so my puppy won't bite her fingers. I wanted to remind her that I DID bring a toy and that he is a PUPPY, and that she should expect that when she's sticking needles into him and prying his mouth open, etc., etc.
I was excited to come here after reading the good reviews but sadly, I was left disappointed. I didn't expect to leave the vet feeling like an elementary school child that just left the principal's office. I'll drive to my old vet in Weymouth. They were incredible. On a side note, the front desk employees are very pleasant. One of them offered to get the manager but what good will it do lol. I'd rather vent here and let all of you know instead
