Services
Emergency Facilities During the hours we are closed, emergency care is provided by the referral practices listed below. These emergency clinics are the equivalent of a hospital's ER: they are geared with the facilities, state of the art equipment and expertise for emergency situations. Directions, hours of operation, and detailed information about specific services can be found on each clinic's respective web site.
Contact Us: Email should be used for general questions and patient updates. We can offer advice for our established patients only. If you have questions for a specific doctor, please go to the "our Vets" page and select the Doctor's email account. Please call the appropriate office if you suspect that your cat is ill and/or you want to schedule an appointment. If your cat requires emergency care, please call the office or the emergency clinic if it is after hours.
Growing old is not for sissies. Just like humans, cats have problems as they age. Older cats shed more fur and often need assistance in grooming. Their nails grow faster and they often need more frequent nail trims. Dietary supplements such as Laxaire are useful in alleviating the discomfort and irritation caused by hairballs.
Your cat's requirements for veterinarian care change throughout the course of her lifetime. Below is an age- based guideline we use for our patients. Some cats may require additional care due to health challenges.

Our visit with cat doctors was enjoyable. Office staff was officiant and friendly. The Doctor was knowledgeable and thoroughly checked our cat. She found that our cat is overweight and gave us good suggestions about special cat food and diet. She answered all our questions and gave an overview of the available services. I'm completely satisfied with our visit and will recommend this office to my friends and neighbors.

Our kitty Isabella always gets THE BEST care at the Cat Doctors. She recently had a flare up of her IBS and Dr. Sullivan got her back on the road to recovery. The office staff are so kind and caring and I can't recommend them highly enough.

This was a most wonderful veterinary experience. I've had cats most of my adult life and I've never been to a veterinarian who gave me the option of making the visit less stressful for my cat. Everyone at The Cat Doctors was very kind and caring, everything was very prompt and the follow up was wonderful. As a new Tampa resident, so glad I was referred to this group.

Oh, where to begin? Our fine, fine, seasoned gentleman had his first trip to their office in quite some time. I was pinned by a migraine and could not go but they got the far superior option, my wife. Barf ("Spaceballs" reference, I call him Mr. Mew) is an indoor/outdoor, seventeen year old, seven and a half pound wonder. He's a people guy. These pictures were taken in the exam area where he once again had the time to familiarize himself with each inch on His terms. Angela said that that was very important, especially in such a warm, spacious, and genteel of an environment so invitingly geared towards the Patient. Angela said that literally each staff member, from the front desk to the Doctor, were still as exceptional and sincere as they were when she started ten years and four cats ago. I can not understate how important hearing those things are to someone who was not there. I truly mean when I say, I am excited or relieved for you to join their family.

I cannot say enough kind things about every single person that works here. I recommend this facility for anyone with a feline companion. From start to finish. They are professional yet so personable and have a genuine care and compassion which is so hard to find these days. I would like to give special thanks to Dr. Simon She is truly a gift. Technicians Jess, Alayna and Holly.

Cat in reception helped me so much she made me feel not so alone amongst going through one of the most difficult times as a pet owner. Those of us who own felines know they are special and particular which is why Cat Doctors is such a blessing to both pet and owner. I have so much love for this facility and all the staff. If you are looking for a vet for your feline companion, don't hesitate call them today.

We love the Cat Doctors! They have been A+ since day one. My older cats have complicated health issues and Dr. Simon and the wonderful vet techs do an amazing job helping us understand what the issues are and how to manage them. Our old vet at a different practice told us that one of our cats was severely ill and had only a few months to live. We then took her to the Cat Doctors, and Dr. Simon and her team were able to treat our cat for her issues, get them under control, and she's still her happy, lovable self nearly four years later!

I sincerely believe that the Cat Doctors team love our cats as much as we do and treat them as though they were their own. Their genuine care and concern is obvious in every interaction. I truly can't say enough positive things about them!

Dr. Connolly and Paul helped with the passing of my cat. They were personable, compassionate, and empathetic. They listened to all the stories I had to share of my little Ozzie and were so, so patient with me and kind as I parted with my buddy. They made a hard, emotional, heavy decision and moment as good and beautiful as it could be. They were so kind that I decided to take my other cat, Ezra to them to be cared for as well. Unfortunately, Ezra also will be passing soon, but she had a thorough work-up as an urgent care visit, Dr. Connolly personally called to explain the findings, next steps, plan of care, and all of the options, and I was confident that Ezra's care was in the very best hands. Paul was an incredible support and resource even days later in following up as he was so patient in listening to my concerns and thought processes as I talked through the options and what the best quality of life would be for my dear Ezra.

Best vet tech I have ever encountered (and I have had 2 dogs, a bunny, and 3 cats all seen by vets, of course) as he is knowledgeable, dependable, and has the empathy of a saint. Whatever his salary is, he should get a big raise because he truly goes above and beyond. I would wholeheartedly recommend The Cat Doctors to anyone with a little feline friend and family member because they will be genuinely loved and you will feel secure knowing they are under the best care possible. Thank you Dr. Connolly and Paul!

Amazingly friendly. Dr. Farrow is the best! My cat is calm and loves to look outside during his visits. He's had extensive surgeries and multiple health issues but the team brought him back to his lively self in no time!

The Cat Doctors are the best! I own five cats and I completely trust Dr. Connolly with their care. She is so kind and calm with my cats and she is so gentle with their care. She was able to diagnose my cat with a rare autoimmune disorder and her treatment plan has greatly increased his quality of life. She is also reasonable with her treatment plans - she doesn't order unnecessary testing just to make more money, unlike other vets that I've seen.

I have been bringing my cat here for 5 years, and could never ask for a better staff to take care of my boy. It is incredibly cat friendly, and feels like home. They have multiple estimate options and are always willing to find a way to get the care my cat needs even when I need to fit in to a certain price range. I would never even think to bring my boy anywhere else, thank you for giving Pip the best care he could ever have, and me as well!

Dr. Diaz is the best vet we've had. The care our cat receives at The Cat Doctor is thorough, compassionate, and informative. I've had questions and concerns addressed here that other vets simply brushed off. That translates into us being able to give our cat better care at home. When something seems off, the staff are great about helping me determine when I should bring our cat in, and when we just want to wait and see.

On one of these occasions, our cat went back to normal so I didn't call back to make an appointment. When they didn't hear from me, they gave me a call to make sure everything was okay. I HIGHLY recommend bringing your cat here.

Dr Bob (Carlson) and Dr Anne (Richards) are aigmong the very best, period. They are both charismatic, patient, gentle, very skilled, and thorough. The entire office environment is clean, well appointed and refreshingly quiet (important for feline comfort). Highly recommended! Dave and Janis Gallagher.

I was extremely pleased with our experience at the Cat Doctor. My husband and I have a rescue Persian and a tabby. Our Persian is pretty high maintenance and requires a lot of care. We brought him to a traditional vet first to address his eye issues, to which they sold us expensive eye drops, gave him medication for his "infection" and advised us to do a lengthy treatment to get rid of this issue.

We spent a few months doing this treatment, yet it seemed nothing changed. I started researching Persian Cat specific doctors in the area and came across the Cat Doctor. The first meeting with Dr Carlson, he didn't try to push medication or anything expensive on us just so he could make a quick buHe truly cared and listened to our concerns, then gave us a realistic treatment plan.

He even advised us how to handle our Persian cat because he can be very feisty. After only a few months of doing what he suggested, our cat's eyes are looking better than ever! We have the Cat Doctor to thank for giving us a realistic plan that really worked for us. I highly recommend them for all of your feline babies!

Dr. Diaz is kind, knowledgeable, gentle and is great at explaining complicated diagnoses. The staff is friendly, compassionate, understanding and accommodating. I'm so grateful they were there for me and my beloved cat Oscar in his final days. My baby was always a healthy cat. Never having been a Cat owner I've had to learn as I go. I thought going to the Vet every 3 yrs for rabies shots was all he needed. He's an indoor cat and never has other animals in the home.

Therefore I only bring him to the vet if there is an issue. I didn't know the signs that there was a problem. Feeling like a failure as a Mom, I hope this post helps others to get their animals checked regularly. Blessings to you all and your fur babies.

I have been taking my cats here since 2007. I prefer a cat-only practice, as the waiting room isn't full with dogs, ferrets, etc. It is very quiet and calm here, which cats like. The staff are very caring and professional. When it came to euthanize my one old guy, it was done humanely and kindly. The nurse even stayed with me afterwards while I sobbed. This practice is not conveniently located for me, but I don't care. The staff's caring attitude & the great vet care make it worth the drive.

I recently made a change in veterinary clinics to the Cat Doctor. I have an older (12yr) Persian with pretty bad arthritis issues. I met with Dr. Anne Richards. Throughout the entire visit she recommended great at home ideas to accommodate my cats daily needs. She explained in detail a few different treatment options and how they worked. Not just the standard do this take that approach.

My past Veterinarian of 15 plus years; has never spent as much time as Dr. Anne did on my first visit! I truly recommend this center to any person that is second guessing the current care of their cat. Nurse Anne was exceptional as well. She made several calls on my behalf to obtain medicine in the most cost effective manor. A truly wonderful experience! 5 Stars from start to finish.

I've been taking my cat, Penguin, here for six years, and each visit is great. The office and exam rooms are clean and full of natural light. I've only had to wait in the lobby once; I'm usually sent to an exam room so Penguin can get out of his carrier and explore. I usually see Dr. Anne, but I've seen a few others as well, and they're all friendly and knowledgable. Penguin is an active cat; he never bites or scratches, but he makes it clear that he'd rather be exploring on the floor than on the examination table. The doctors are all very gentle and good at soothing him, especially when he needs shots. Highly recommended!

We are pretty sure the Cat Doctor saved our beloved kitty's life, and we are very grateful. We took our two 16-year-old cats to another vet for their first checkup as Nashua residents in October. We think the male caught a bug there, because a week later, he became ill. He is big and strong and slowly recovered with some subcutaneous fluid, but a week after the onset of his symptoms, our little female came down with the same symptoms and declined quickly.

We decided to switch vets. While vet #1 seemed most interested in selling us tests, procedures, and products, Dr. Diaz focused on our cat, taking into account her chronic thyroid disorder and three days of being unable to eat. He was gentle and empathetic, which put her at ease; he talked with us as a professional and gave us all the information we needed to nurse her at home.

She is recovering well. There is an air of deep respect for cats and humans and calm professionalism in this office that was very good for our cat and gives us peace and confidence. I wish we could give the Cat Doctor 10 stars.

Dr. Anne has been caring for my Chinchilla Persian, Misty, since I moved to NH in 2007. Misty is quite the diva and will not allow a male vet near her. She had a bad experience with one and has never forgotten it. Misty, while a very sweet, loving cat to me is a nightmare for vets. She hisses, growls, tries to scratch and/or bite through the visit.

She also can be depended upon to provide a fecal sample without it being required. Dr. Anne is so patient, gentle and caring with this difficult patient. I can't imagine taking her to any other vet. The office staff is also professional, caring and considerate. Misty can't stand being in a cage. When I had to leave her after she had a tooth removed, it took me close to an hour to get her out of the cage and cleaned up.

When I suggested the next time I bring her pet stroller in and they could put her in it after the procedure, the staff agreed and we didn't have a problem with her. The facility is always immaculate. Many services are available onsite, so I don't have to lug her from place to place. I'm fortunate that Misty likes riding in the car, but other felines do not. I may have to pay a little more for the visits, but it is worth it for my peace of mind and Misty's physical and mental wellbeing.

I take both my cats here, and have since they were kittens. Actually, before moving to NH, we took them to the Cat Doctor in Bedford, MA. I was very happy to find out that they also had an office in my new hometown! When we got a dog and had to start taking her to a different vet (it's not easy to pass off a labrador retriever as a cat.), we decided to stick with the Cat Doctor for our kitties. Dr. Richards and Dr. Carlson have always been so good with our cats, helping us through all kinds of issues like The Cat With Chronic Allergies and The Mysterious Tumor Thing.

They always get great treatment, and I always get good advice from them. The office staff and vet techs are great as well, as are the office cats. :-) It's a very calm, friendly environment which is excellent for nervous cats. while my cats are now used to our dog, they are still terrified of strange dogs, and this lets them feel as safe as possible.

I love that they focus both on the overall health of my cats as well as keeping the cats' stress levels down. The office has always been meticulously clean, as well, and their hours are really convenient for people with traditional workdays (since they are open late on Tuesdays & Thursdays and have Saturday hours).

I take my 3 cats there and I couldn't be more happier. The attention, the level of professionalism and the understanding about cat only issues is outstanding. My older cat has polycystic kidney and liver disease and I fell secure that my cat is under Dr Richards care. I know he is going to live all his "lives" because she is enabling him. I' ve taken my cats to Dr Carlson also and I appreciate the way he cares about my cats too. Don't forget: They are cats specialists!

I strongly recommend taking your cat here. The staff are superb, friendly and very helpful. I found it was very easy to make appointments, I always got in very quickly. Their clinic is clean and has a very stress-free feeling to it. Dr. Richards sees all 3 of my cats and she is very knowledgeable and takes to time to listen to all of my concerns or questions. Go see the Cat Doctor if you want to give your cat the best treatment!

These folks are superb! 5 years ago, when our 6-moth old male cat had urinary issues, we went to vet after vet, all of whom said he needed antibiotics. That didn't work, but they kept giving it to him. One even suggested surgery. We took him to Dr. Bob, and he properly diagnosed the situation as an inflammation rather than an infection. He completely solved the problem with a course of steroids, and then suggested some changes we could make so that our male cat would be more comfortable in his own skin. We've been loyal patients ever since. I can;t say enough great things about both Dr. Ann and Dr. Bob.

Doctors Carlson and Richards are both superb. The Cat Doctor facility in Nashua is scrupulously clean, and they have excellent test equipment on site to get at the root of problems quickly. I honestly think it's the best care you can get for your cat.

I am amazed by this place. Two of the best Doctors I have ever come across. I've been using the Cat Doctor for over 14 years and have never been disappointed; both the Nashua, NH and Bedford, MA locations. I have brought my two girls in there for various reasons (simple check-ups, knee surgery, cancer) and each time they impress me more. Both Dr. Carlson and Dr. Richards are caring and extremely knowledgable. I often joke with my husband that I wish our primary care physicians were as wonderful as these two doctors! Highly recommend them!

The vets are super-knowledgable and full of good advice. This is the place to go if you have a cat who is afraid of dogs and other animals.
