Dr. Schiebert always knew she was going to grow up to be vet. When I was just three years old, I lived in Westport Connecticut and I would find these dead field mice outside all the time. I would pick them up, cradle them in my hands and go knock on my front door waiting for my Mom to come to the rescue.
At Shadowridge Veterinary Hospital, we offer a variety of services to care for your pet. If you have any questions or would like more information on how we can care for your pet, please contact us today.
Pet insurance pays, partly or in total, for veterinary treatment of the insured person's ill or injured pet. Some policies will pay out when the pet dies, or if it is lost or stolen. As veterinary medicine is increasingly employing expensive medical techniques and drugs, and owners have higher expectations for their pet's health care and standard of living than previously, the market for pet insurance has increased.
We value our patients and clients, and we appreciate the role we get to play in your pet's health care. Make sure to take note of the expiration dates, as we change our special offers from time to time. Again, all of us at Shadowridge Veterinary Hospital want to thank you and your pets for being a loyal member of our community. We are grateful that you have chosen us as your pet's health care provider.

I want to start off by saying that I am not the type of person to leave a poor review, even if service wasn't great. But I am so beyond disappointed with the boarding care at Shadowridge Vet Hospital that I feel it's necessary for me to write this in order to warn pet owners to avoid this place if they care about the wellbeing of their pets. I cannot speak on the vets, as I only interacted with the front desk Candace, who was unprofessional and incompetent.

I brought in my cat for boarding care while I was out of state for travel. I purchased the $5 a day ADDITIONAL fee for TLC, which makes zero sense because shouldn't petting the cats and taking them out to play a few minutes a day already be the bare minimum during boarding care? But I digress. I asked the employees if I was going to be sent photos of my cat while I was out, I was given verbal confirmation by two employees.

I wrote my number on the consent forms so that they knew which number to send the cat photos to. I did not receive any photos of my cat the six days I was gone. Not to mention, I had to pay for vaccines that my cat has already received. When I went to pick up my cat, I was met with more incompetence and unprofessionalism. It took them almost 30 minutes to get my cat out.

Three employees had to come out and clarify which one was my cat. They didn't even know what carrier was his. How hard is it to label a carrier? Or get a post it note and label the cat's name on their cage? It literally boggles my mind. I also brought up the fact that I didn't receive any photos during my trip and Candace, the front desk, merely responded with "Oh." and then went back to typing on her computer. Like, how hard is it to say "I'm sorry about that, let me check what happened and I'll get back to you"?

I asked multiple times about the missing cat photos, and I wasn't given a straightforward answer. At this point, I'm wondering if my cat was even taken out of his cage during his 6 days at Shadowridge. As of Tuesday, May 31st, I haven't received my pictures yet. It shouldn't take two weeks to send a couple of images to a phone number. Ultimately, I am just disappointed that I spent almost $250, $40 of which went to "TLC" that I don't even have proof occurred.

I have taken my cat to other boarding cares that charged much less and sent me daily report cards of my cat which included photos, videos, and a short summary of what my cat did that day. Shadowridge, do better.

Shadowridge has been consistently awful and they have consistently made mistakes, not kept their word and mistreated our two dogs. I have been there 3 times hoping I was wrong and it was just one bad experience but that is not the case. I have gone as far as to tell others to stay far away and have heard either that, "oh I've heard that about there" or "good to know, thank you".

I have spoke to the new office manager (who was kind and assured me she'd talk to the vet owner about my experience which she agreed was 'unacceptable' and call me back but never did). They have muzzled our dogs during a visit needlessly, they have messed up their paperwork repeatedly even after we pointed out mistakes, they have said one thing and done another.

My wife and I have lived in multiple states and in cities, small towns and out in the country and this is by far the worst and most incompetent vet practice we have been to. There is trouble finding a vet and making an appointment anywhere and we got one here which is why we went but they have been overbooked and made the while experience and process worse.

I would advise you to go elsewhere. I would rather go to Banfield (which I would have never thought I would say). Edit in response to vet owners response- Yes, muzzling the dog that nipped at someone would have been totally reasonable but you muzzled the wrong dog. We told you this day of, we mentioned this afterwards when I shared my grievances with the office manager who said they or you would call me back and now this response speaks to the incompetence of this veterinarian practice to keep adequate or accurate notes, records or attention.

With regards to the heart worm test we know the importance of those and have worked as a vet tech. That is why we noticed one of our dogs was due and insisted she get the test. It was your office who claimed she was current and did not need one and refused to look and see that you were wrong. That is until we needed a prescription and you realized we were not in fact current (like we said).

Rather than admit fault or apologize your staff was argumentative and rude about it. Don't waste time trying to save face on a Google review. If you cared you would have and still could call me back like you said you would. It is telling that you are only willing to do anything when it becomes public like this is online. This is why the opinion of your practice in is so poor amongst people in North County who work with, or have worked with, dogs.

My dog stayed there for the first time for a few days. Came back really thirsty and with bumps, sores and scabs on her lips/mouth. Called to just notify them so they can disinfect the area she was in - tried to upsell me a vet appointment after I said I just called to notify them. People seemed friendly just think they could have handled the situation first with empathy.

They just moved across the street next to Stater Brothers. They are in a huge spot where Tuesday morning used to be. The staff were all very friendly and the spay cost was lower than Melrose Vet Hospital, also in the Shadowridge area. They took really good care of our baby girl Katness!

We have been going to Shadowridge Vet Hosp for over 20 years. Dr. Schiebert has always treated us with kindness and respect. We have referred several friends to Shadowridge not only for the excellent care but the pricing is very reasonable. Dr. Jenny is very knowledgeable and able to diagnose conditions other vets could not. They also have specialty Doctors that can come in as well.

We recently had to put our sweet dog down. Dr Jenny was so empathetic and kind to us during this difficult time. She and her staff set us up in a private room with a comfy blanket to lay on let us spend as much time needed and explained the whole process from start to finish. Candace and staff did an excellent job setting up all the cremation details. We highly recommend Shadowridge Vet Hosp and Dr. Jenny.

So sick and tired of putting our dog through the window in the parking lot of our old vet, we ventured out in search of something new. We found a great one! So thorough, so friendly, and so much better than our old vet (whom we enjoyed). So happy with our visit with Dr. Harvazinski. Can't say enough good about this place. Treated out dogs ear infection and he just loved them as well. Thank you so much!

This review is in regards to their customer service /professionalism and not their veterinary skills. I tried solving this privately, but that didn't work. Without going into too much detail, our initial estimate had a service listed for $89. On the day of the exam, the estimate was the same, and my family wasn't informed of any changes in price. However, when it was time to pay, the price was $450.

After various stories, they said the process and fees had changed. I asked for an itemized invoice, so I could better understand how that happened, but the only answer I received was that "prices change". Instead of replying to my last e-mail, they commented on my Facebook post. I still haven't received that invoice or detailed explanation of the new fees.

I understand prices change, but I wish we would have been informed at the beginning of the appointment. We are really disappointed in how this was handled. We had been going there for over 10 years, but we'll be taking our pets elsewhere from now on.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! I wish I looked at the reviews before I brought my cat here. If I had, I never would have used them as the same thing happened to me that happened to others. The vet, Jenny Schiebert, was very brief with me, and spent no more than a couple of minutes with me. I tried to have her answer questions, but her foot was out the door.

The staff, Candace, was very rude to me with her tone and her "assistance." I was having a teeth cleaning done, with extractions. I was told the teeth would cost $40-65 per tooth removed. I got charged $135 for one tooth that was removed alone. Kandace accused me of lying thah a staff told me this. When I asked her "where did I get these numbers from, " she was like "I don't know." I was told my "total for the day" was $1, 030.67, which, as the the words "total for the day" mean, I assumed that was including the $199 I paid earlier that day.

I found out later that that price was not including the $199. I was told to get a biopsy done on a scab on his neck that he had for a while, since the vet had no idea what it was caused by. Not a clue even. I was told to get the biopsy done while he was having anesthesia for the teeth. Well, I was charged for anesthesia anyways to have this done. They charged me a laser fee to remove the scab, which was ONLY on the surface, that the vet tech said could probably be removed without the laser due to it being on the surface.

They also gave me the cat back with stitches on his neck, and no protection to keep him from licking it. The offices did not have sinks to them like other vet offices I've been to, which I found strange and not so cleanly. From what I could tell, this place is decently priced for routine maintenance, like a wellness package for $199 or a teeth cleaning for $199.

But if anything is going on with your pet, not so much. So, in short, what I found was a lot of miscommunication, rude staff, a vet that doesn't take time for her patients, and a false disclosure of pricing. I asked people in my town who they would recommend for a vet, now I know why no one recommended them.
