Since 1982, Shackleford Road Veterinary Clinic has been providing pets in Central Arkansas with comprehensive veterinary services. Conveniently located in Little Rock, Shackleford Road Veterinary Clinic offers high-quality, compassionate care in a facility outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment.
Significant advances have been made within the past several years that make it possible for pets to live longer today than ever before. A key component of a wellness plan for pets like cats and dogs is vaccines. For years, pet vaccinations have protected animals against infectious diseases that could prove to be deadly to those pets that are not adequately inoculated. Would you like to come home to a clean house? We offer regularly scheduled cleaning plans that work for your schedule and your budget.
We love new patients! I grant to Shackleford Road Veterinary Clinic (SRVC), its representatives and employees, the right to take photographs of me and/or my pet, and to use and publish the same in print and/or electronically. I agree that Shackleford Road Veterinary Clinic (SRVC) may use such photographs of me and/or my pet with or without my name and for any lawful purpose, including publicity, illustration, advertising, social media and web content.

I called because I'm new to the area and have a 20 year old cat who isn't doing well. I wanted to price local vets and see who could help. They seemed affronted when I asked how much they charged to put a cat to sleep when it was needed, left me on hold for 10 minutes then told me I'd have to bring her in and do a full workup of tests before they'd discuss it.

I'm not willing to put her through that misery nor spend all my money on tests when she's 20 years old and just old. The complete unwillingness to help me take care of my baby says everything I need to know about this place.

I don't like that they won't treat; vaccinations, exams, etc. in the exam room! Why take the dog away from the owner? Just causes more stress on the animal. Other than that, my animals have received good care here.

We have been going to SRVC since we moved back to Arkansas Feb 2021. We initially saw Dr Campbell who was very nice and detailed. Baxter had his annual check up there and shots initially. After a recent emergency trip, Dr Martin was able to get my toy poodle, Baxter, seen asap. While they were monitoring him to determine if surgery would be necessary, Dr Martin went above and beyond to communicate with me and provide detailed updates.

I trust Dr Martin 100%! We unfortunately did have to have surgery but everything went as well as possible. I received updates immediately and the evening following. I'm thankful for SRVC and the entire staff for being amazing, so caring, and communicating so well. 12/10 would recommend especially if something emergent is needed.

After Dr. Erikson retired from Hillcrest, I was worried about who I would find to take care of my babies. Everyone at SRVC has stepped up and been wonderful. I trust them completely with the health of my aging cat. They also were so kind and compassionate when we had to say goodbye to our dog and one of our cats. I can't wait to introduce them to the new boy we are adopting soon.

My experience: I have taken my 50 pound dog (1 year old now) to this clinic for 1 year now. We went today for annual vaccines. The assistant explained some of the shots were a requirement in boarding places. I mentioned I might need boarding services this month but never requested boarding services there as Ellie always stays in NLR, and she loves it there.

I brought her to the clinic wearing a muzzle. At the clinic I put a second muzzle on top of that one (double muzzle). The way I see it, this is a dog who is taken away from her owner (owners are not allowed in the back of the clinic), is retrained with a double muzzled, and is getting injections. Of course the dog is combative. The veterinarian came to the room where I was waiting and said next time I should bring her sedated so they did not have to struggle with her.

I did not have a problem with that. He immediately continued to say that they would not provide boarding services for Ellie. I was not there requesting boarding services. Ellie is a friendly dog who uses boarding services all the time and never has had any problem with the staff or other dogs. The decision to refuse boarding services (which, again, were not requested) because Ellie was combative while restrained by strangers and getting injections seems to reflect poor judgement. Therefore, I will take my business elsewhere. Maybe poodles and hamsters are good fit for this clinic.

I have had a really awful experience with other vets with my rats. I looked up places that saw rats and this vet clinic popped up. I called and made the appointment and have had nothing but wonderful experiences. My rat babies have seen Dr Baron and he has been amazing every visit! Thank you for you honesty and giving us a better experience than we have had at other clinics. The staff has always been very friendly and sweet as well. Can't thank you all enough

Dr. Barron and his staff at SRVC are the BEST in my opinion. I have been taking my 4-legged "kids" to Dr. B for around 14 years and I wouldn't trust anybody else like I trust him, and his staff! He is a kind and gentle doctor who obviously cares greatly about his patients as well as their "parents". He has gone above & beyond in the caring of mine.

And his staff all are genuine animal lovers. They will take care of your furry family member as if he or she is their own! So if you're looking for a new veterinarian who will truly care about your 4-legged family member(s), then I highly recommend Dr. Barron at SRVC! You won't be disappointed!

Dr. Martin was fantastic with my fur baby Spencer. I was extremely exhausted in trying to determine what was going on with him in terms of dealing with his symptoms. Dr. Martin was very patient and kind with me and took great care of Spencer. All I can say is Spencer has a new Vet!

Dr. Barron has vetted my animals practically since I moved to Arkansas 16 years ago. I appreciate his care and consideration for my animals, but also his kindness towards me where my fur family is concerned. On a recent visit we saw Dr. Campbell and I am happy to say that I appreciated her care for my Sadie, her ability to discuss and treat the illness and her sense of humor when Sadie "gave her tongue"! Thank you SRVC! I look forward to many more years with you caring for my pets.

When we adopted two kitten in July, I checked out several veterinarian clinics online. All looked favorable but SRVC stood out above the rest. When we made our initial visit, our decision was validated. The SRVC facility is clean and modern and the staff are very polite and helpful. Dr. Brian Barron genuinely cares about the animals he treats. He took time to make recommendations on the care of our kittens and answered all of our questions, which is important to us as we are first time cat owners. We are 100% pleased with our decision to have our cats treated at SRVC and heartily recommend them to others!
