Services
Santa Barbara Pet Hospital was established in 1969 in our current location on Cliff Drive in Santa Barbara. Prior to that, we were known as Tower Veterinary Hospital and were located on Cabrillo Boulevard. The hospital has been owned by several Veterinarians, including Dr. Donald Hur and Dr. Bruce Landis.
Our Hospital Director Dr. Sally Mobraaten received her Veterinary Medical Degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1991. She has practiced veterinary medicine at Hickory Veterinary Hospital and Ark Animal Hospital in Pennsylvania and at Carpinteria Veterinary Hospital in Carpinteria. She has three collies, two cats, and fish.
Take a look around and see where your family member will be cared for. Santa Barbara Pet Hospital has separate waiting areas for our canine and feline patients. In the dog waiting room, pictured to the right, we strive to create a comfortable, cheerful area in which to receive our clients and their pets.
A: It depends on the type of flea control used. Santa Barbara Pet Hospital sells flea control products (Feline Advantage and Vectra, Canine Vectra and Vectra 3D, and Capstar) as over the counter items. Comforts and Nexgard, both once-monthly oral flea controls, and Revolution, a once monthly topical, are regulated by the FDA and as such are prescription-only items.

Excellent caring Veterinarians and kind staff keep me coming back. I just added two miniature Schnauzers to my family after one year hiatus from being a pet parent. Upon returning to SB pet hospital I felt confident they would take all the time and consideration my newborn fur babies needed.

I love this pet hospital - I wish my first visit wasn't under the horrific circumstances it was but they handled it wonderfully. My dog had fallen and hit his head, wasn't breathing, and had no pulse. I rushed him to this hospital in panic and they took him back immediately and started working on him. Stewart was their top priority and I am so appreciative of that.

There were 2 vets, 1 vet nurse, and 2 vet techs working. 1 vet, 1 vet nurse, and 1 vet tech stayed with Stewart the entire time while the other vet was communicating everything to me and the vet tech was manning the reception area and getting Stewart's records from previous hospitals. Unfortunately, Stewart never started breathing on his own again and passed away.

When explaining my options to me, the vets did not sway or encourage me in any option - which made is SUPER hard to make a decision but I am glad it was completely up to me with no bias from the hospital. Every employee there was also full of empathy for me and my family going through this hard time. They even allowed me to group FaceTime with my family so they could all say goodbye to Stewart. Afterwards, they also gave me as much time as I wanted alone with Stewart and holding him in my arms as he went on to heaven. Lastly, they offered to grab a paw print and some hair for each member of my family. I am so thankful they took care of Stewart with such empathy, grace, and care in his last moments.

Good doctors but they're often different ones there so you can't always know when your favorite one will be in. Also no Saturday hours which is hard for us working folks.

I have been visiting this clinic with furry friends since I was a kid. Every time we visit my animals get top notch service from the entire staff. There is a separate cat and dog entrance and parking is a breeze.

I recently stop bringing my cat to this place. I'm sure about the quality of the Vet but the people that answer the phone calls and make appointments are very incompetent. I rescheduled my cat's appointment for saturday. I called to say that I ll be late for 5 mins and they said that I don't have an appointment for that day. I was trying to explain that I rescheduled my cat's appointment but the attitude I received was horrible.

I felt like I was talking to an ignorant police officer. She was very denial about the fact that they made a mistake and all expected was an apology and offer for a rescheduling. Instead she said " you don't have an appointment", "no, you can't come in". Somebody has to teach these people the customer service side of veterinary. This experience did make me question the credibility of the pet health care they give. I will never bring my cat this place. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!
