If I could give 0 stars I would. They were not able to manage my cat as he was scared and aggressive pre op neuter. I went to pick him up, got him home and found him covered in feces. Covered! Not one person warned me. Never going back there!

Doctors have been great. Location is close to my house and the staff are nice and attentive. I have two dogs that I bring here to see Dr Komlosy and Dr Abby. Both doctors and very sweet to my pets and knowledgeable in veterinary care.

We have been taking our animals to the SDPH for 6 years. I happen to come across this page and saw some negative reviews. Some of them personally attacking Dr. Abi. Let me be clear, Dr. Abi is a rock star. She is the reason we go to this vet. If she leaves, we leave. If you have the chance, take your pet to see her. She caught our cats cancer on his lungs just by listening to his breathing - on intuition.

When other drs wanted to give up, she gave him a chance. She consistently goes above and beyond in caring for our animals. Another time, our puppy had an intestinal blockage and she was emailing me checking on him and answering questions at all hours. She is consistently gives 110%. She is the kind of vet you want to take care of your fur babies.

I had stopped taking my babies to this clinic during the pandemic due to soaring prices and their need to push tests and procedures that my pets did not require, however, the clinic is once again under new management and it is a caring and loving place for your pets as well as the owners. They truly care about the welfare of your pets. Their care and wellbeing is number one and pushing useless tests and procedures has stopped!

This place is honestly so horrible. Came here looking to get an opinion on my dog & it was a complete waste of time. They had no information they could give me other than my dog was in "bad condition". When I asked for clarification they said they couldn't tell or they don't know. This place is obviously just really unprofessional and just wants money. The wellness exam consisted of the doctors asking me was my dog born in the U.S. and touching his stomach. Thags

I highly recommend taking your pet somewhere else, because instead of HELPING pet owners care for their pets, this facility takes advantage of people who are going through financial hardships, and may not have the funds to pay for particular procedures (at their office) by calling the SD Humane Society and opening cases against pet owners who don't choose them to care for their pets or may not have the funds.

This disgust me to see and witness first hand! We took our pet here to get checked out, and they wanted $1k for x-Ray and $150 for pain medication. After explaining our financially hardship and concern, it was decided to take our pet somewhere more affordable. Dr. Abigale Arreola called the Human Society on us, even though it was clear that our pet was very well taken care of and no signs of neglect or mistreatment present.

It was advised that we would be taking our pet somewhere else to get the proper attention and care. Its really unfortunate that she felt the need to do that all over MONEY, but we will never recommend this facility. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE or risk the chance of losing your loving pet.

My first experience with this pet hospital was in August 2020 and I was very happy with the care and interaction I had with the staff. And I will include that on the first visit I brought my dogs previous records giving information of previous rabies and other vaccinations as I was told I needed to provide proof of rabies vaccine. Well I needed to get Buddy a (3 yr) rabies vaccine and since it had been greater than a year that a full exam HAD to be done in order to get the vaccination so I could renew his license in Lemon Grove for another 3 years.

Long story short Dr Abbey recommended over $400 of unnecessary "tests" on a canine with no known health issues? She found 1 flea on him which I believe hopped on him as I walked him in the office as I had combed him for any fleas from his morning walk and he had none on him when we left home. And they gave him a ONE YEAR vaccination instead of the 3 year I requested (I also took the form from the city for his license with me to be signed off).

So his license cost me more for one year vs. the 3 yr option. Not one bit happy with these tactics to gleam more money from a senior citizen and military veteran which I got NO discount for either even tho they ask both questions on their form. Needless to say I will not be returning. Why "recommend" running $350 of "tests" on a dog who is has no health issues just because he is over 8 years old?

Oh yes, we were given a "goodie" Halloween bag upon leaving. This was a nice gesture but some pet owners do not give their pets "junk" with processed food and artificially preserved additives. I don't believe I will be taking either one of my dogs back there. Oh yes, the answer I got for the 1 yr vaccine instead of the 3 yr was "the code on the record in the computer"? Well, the human who input that code made a serious error/omission of information that was presented to the office in August 2020! And someone neglected to read the license renewal form which was supposed to be "3 yr" therefore he needed a 3yr rabies vaccine!

Do not take your pet here, they do not care about your animal. They told me to drop my boy off at 8am to have a procedure done. I was told he'd be done around 12. I called near that time to check on him and was told that they hadn't even gotten to him yet. He hadn't eaten or drank anything the whole day, they told me not to feed him the day before, and he just had to sit in a cage all day.

He's not a cage dog at all and he is currently injured. When I finally got my dog which was after 3, I confronted the doctor, asking him why didn't someone give me a curtesy call. The doc said he wasn't going to stop his emergency procedure to tell someone to call me as if he's the only one there working that is aware that my dog hasn't been seen yet. I wanted to kill someone. Do not take your pet here, they are trash!

DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE! September 2021 worst experience with a vet. Brought my dog for X-rays. They left him hungry with no water in a cage from 8a until 2p. I was told he would be done by noon and when i kept following up they said he wasn't a priority. My dog came home traumatized.

I was really happy with the way they treated my yellow Lab Max, I will definitely be bringing my animals back. It was good experience all the way around, they're prices were fair and they seemed to truely care about the animals. San Diego Pet Hospital is a wonderful place to bring your Fur Babie. I would recommend them to anybody that loves their pets like I do mine. Shelli J. Shreve

Over the past few months my family an I have watched our beautiful Foxy slowly decline. She was deaf, going blind, having difficulty walking and nearly 14. One evening she cried out in pain in a way I have never heard her and I knew she was asking me to do the humane thing. The next day I called her vet, San Diego Pet Hospital, and they understood the urgency of her pain and got us right in.

After performing an exam, Dr. Komlosy told me some treatment options but we knew it was her time. The vet assistant told me that we would have to wait outside while they put her to sleep due to COVID protocols, but Mr. Komlosy arranged it so we could be outside with her when she passed. I can't tell you how much this meant to me and my daughter. Mr. Komlosy was so kind, patient, and compassionate during the process and I wanted to post this so Mr. Komlosy, his staff, and customers know just how much this all meant to me.

I just received a beautiful card in the mail from them with the staff's personal condolences and Foxy's paw print. Hands down, San Diego Pet Hospital made this painful experience a beautiful and graceful passing, thank you all!

Dr. Komlosy is very thorough and does everything by the book. As a result there mare many tests, you will wait a long time for your pet and you will be charged accordingly. While I do feel the care of the pet is top notch there is no regard for the owner. Another vet might take five minutes to look at a problem and then go with a best guess and be correct 95% of the time. Dr. Komlosy will use every available test to nail down the cause even if the treatment would have been the same.

From both vets you get the same advice "Bring Him back in two weeks so we can make sure it is all good". The difference is the time you spend waiting and the size of the bill. To summarize, top notch care, long wait times, large bill.

So I called them to get an appointment for my disabled daughters emotional support dog. They didn't have anything available and honestly they didn't even seem to care that we needed an appointment right away because my jadey girl really seemed to be in pain and is limping bad. they just said if they could see her that the fee would be $79 instead of the normal $49. this to me was just horrifying to know when your really in need they just up the price.: we live on a limited income due to my daughters disability and I explained that to them before they said it would cost me more. I've been taking my dogs here for years and even recommended people to them and now I'm just completely disgusted by the way I was treated and the lack of empathy on the there part.

I had nothing but good experiences with this vet. They are very informative, friendly and really care about my pup. Even with the new covid protocols they work efficiently and safely and I'm very happy that they are so close to where I live.

Someone in a pet store recommended San Diego pet hospital when I rescued a kitten that had been thrown out of a car. They ended up being a sister location to our old vet, which we loved, but was too far away for regular care. Multiple visits, multiple issues with the kitten. They've been our vet since. They're always professional, kind when my other cat needed end of life care. It's been a few years now. Staff is kind, I never worry about my pets in their care.

Had to update this since I just took my dog in with an apparent bee sting--she's allergic and had a swollen face and vomiting/diarrhea instantly so I was very panicked. The staff got her in immediately and I just got word that she's doing much better. I can't express how much respect I have for these people! My dog is my world and to know that they are providing life-sustaining healthcare is heroic by any definition.

And as for the racist one star review from the person that was here yesterday.just click on her profile it's nothing but negativity and hatred, every single review! Again, nothing but admiration for the work these folks do, day in and day out

I'm very impressed with the new vet. Forgot her name but very thick accent. Friendly yet professional. 1st time she's met my furbaby Bowie. He absolutely DOESNT LIKE TO BE PICKED UP. This sweet Dr Dog Whisperer carried Bowie outside so he wouldn't pull & get out of his harness. She prescribed itch Medicare. Hes tearing himself up in this heat. Definitely he's getting better. Thank you everyone @ SDPH

I had an excellent experience taking my poor dog Luna here yesterday. She had to have some teeth removed and exams done to ensure there were no other issues. The doctors did an excellent job explaining the procedures needed and subsequent results. Photos showing before and after the procedure along with x rays were sent so I was aware of everything.

They are being very diligent about Covid by not allowing people to enter and you need to sit in your car in a designated spot and call them for service. All of the vet techs were very gentle in taking her and bringing her back to me and were also very friendly and made the after care instructions easy to understand. I recommend visiting this hospital with your pet needs, these folks are true professionals that care deeply about your pets.

These guys care tremendously and I really loved having them as my vet. Came in with my little guy and he had pustules all in his ears and mouth, he also had a pretty high fever. They didn't recognize what it was initially but they put him on an antibiotic regime that helped pretty quickly, then they did a biopsy and a culture and it came back as Staph. Weirdest way I've ever seen Staph present. It came back a little about a week or so later so they just had me give him a higher dose of the antibiotic he was on and it worked. Thank you guys for saving my boy.

We have been loyal customers of San Diego Pet Hospital for over 5 years and have always been impressed by Dr. Romero and the care that he provides. When we took in a stray cat we had no doubts about bringing him in to have him neutered and to receive his basic vaccinations. We were quoted "$100-$200" for the neuter at the front desk in addition to multiple rounds of vaccinations and tests with additional fees that had to be completed prior to the neuter.

Three months later, after taking multiple days off of work for appointments and spending far too much money on the required pre-operative vaccines and tests, I was presented with a $350-$470 estimate for the cat to be neutered on the morning of the planned surgery. This is not only unprofessional for a business to give such inaccurate information but it is also disrespectful of my time, energy, and finances.

When I respectfully explained my frustration, I was told "that shouldn't have happened" and that "things have changed ever since we went corporate last year." We will happily take our business elsewhere and encourage other pet owners to do the same. Unless, of course, you would like to waste your time and money on a business that now values "corporate constraints" over customer service and quality care.

Terrible service, and expensive. They messed up and didn't provide enough medicine to match their prescription, forgot to call me back, left me on hold for 20 minutes, and left me waiting in the lobby for long periods on every visit. And the charges just keep adding up for something simple. Dealing with these guys is dealing with a cavalcade of blunders. They never apologized for their mistakes, or did anything to make up for them, just kept charging. I won't be back.

The refused to respond to my complaint with the BBB. All I asked for was an apology for their conduct and a promise they would never do this to another pet owner, but they refused. This goes to show that they really dont care about how their customers see them or how they treat our pets. I would have changed my review of I would have just got the apology letter and their promise,

I have been bringing my fur baby to San Diego pet hospital on an almost weekly basis for the last year. My vet is Dr. Abigail Arreola and she is highly educated and compassionate in my experience with her. I have also seen Dr. Romero who is also fabulous. The front desk staff is phenomenal. Morgan, Keely, Rachel, Stephanie and more! Dr. Abigail literally saved my cats life. I am forever grateful for her care and all my incredibly positive experiences at my vet. You are all appreciated and loved!

So shocked to read others' bad experiences-I have brought my dog here twice and things have been great! Both vets took a lot of time listening to my concerns and genuinely answering questions with a lot of detail. All staff have been friendly and prices were reasonable. I especially loved today's visit with my Dr Romero and his assistant trying so hard to make friends with my dog.

He literally sat on the floor with her and was so awesome- the assistant offered whipped cream when the cheez wiz wasn't a hit. I left feeling so good about this office and I'm so sorry others felt differently

We rescued a Great Dane puppy for the first time and really weren't sure what we were getting ourselves into. She immediately brought joy and love into our lives as well as a couple necessary trips to the vet. We had the pleasure of seeing both Dr. Eliopulos and Dr. Romero on separate occasions. They were both so patient and kind- answering all of our questions, calming all of our worries and making this transition as amazing as any puppy adoption should be.

The staff was just as warm and helpful as the doctors. There is no dread when we need to make a vet appointment! From vaccinations to an unplanned surgery, I cannot imagine taking our dogs anywhere else. What an amazing group of loving and caring professionals.

The doctor and nurses were extremely friendly and affectionate. Nova enjoyed it so much she didn't want to leave. Doc answered all of our questions and calmed our puppy woes. Since this visit was so calm, i doubt if she will have vet anxiety, huge plus!

BEWARE! BOTCHED SURGERY?!? I took my dog into surgery to get a growth removed from under his eye. Once the Surgery site had healed I noticed that my dog was still having issues. He would try to scratch at the eye and rub it. from where I could see on the outside of the eye, the growth was removed so I thought he was still healing. A few weeks ago I tried to contact the hospital because I noticed he had not left his eye alone, even though his surgery was months ago.

I left several messages and no one contacted me back. Fast forward to yesterday I decided to just give it a look myself and I saw that not only had the growth not been removed, it had doubled in size! Not wanting to jump to any conclusions I have called them and left several messages, but have felt that they have been ignoring me. HERE IS WHEN THINGS GET NUTS: I decided since they weren't answering my phone calls to send my boyfriend to call them.

He was able to get someone on the phone but as soon as they found out what dogs he was calling about THEY HUNG UP. There is something extremely fishy going on about this place, I am looking for the right places to go to report them. Imagine if you got a surgery to have something removed only to find that it was still there, and when you contacted the doctor that was supposed to perform the surgery they, block you. I'll be posting and sharing this everywhere I can encouraging local San Diego is to go somewhere else.

I have a lot of connections to radio stations and I'm going to make sure that no one has to go through this situation again. This is super sketchy and very scary. I'm starting to wonder what they did to my dog.

I had to say farewell to my sweet kitty today. I am so grateful for the way Dr Wilcox and the staff handled the situation. I left feeling I had made the right decision and the procedure was gentle and peaceful. They were very caring and compassionate. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this facility. EDIT: I received a wonderful sympathy card from the staff. What a nice thing. Thank you!
