Parasite Screen

Testing dogs and cats for internal parasites with a fecal exam is an important test that should be performed every year. Some parasites are zoonotic, (meaning they are contagious to people) and parasite infections can cause vomiting, diarrhea, or can prevent your pet from maintaining a proper weight. Treating internal parasite infections usually requires a topical or oral medication.

Complete Physical Exam

A complete physical exam is as important to your pet's health as it is to our own. It is the best way to recognize and treat problem areas early. During a physical exam the following systems are evaluated: ears, eyes, lymphatic system, oral exam (teeth, tongue, gingiva) , dermatological system (skin health, coat quality, lumps or masses are be evaluated and discussed) , cardiothoracic auscultation (the heart is evaluated for murmurs and the lungs are evaluated for normal and abnormal lung sounds) , genitourinary and gastrointestinal systems (normal vs abnormal urination and defecation) , abnormal palpation, musculoskeletal, and neurologic system evaluation are all part of the yearly physical exam.

Customer Testimonials

Goes above and beyond at all hours of the day or night for any animal or their worried owner. Couldn't ask for anyone better to help provide the best possible care to my fur babies. He's very knowledgeable for complex medical issues and is never too busy to answer my many questions! So thankful to have him in charleston!

Dr. Bauman is awesome! He is very knowledgeable, friendly, and gentle with my lab (who can be quite challenging due to her past experiences at a local vet). He is treating a recurring ear infection and has been able to give her immunizations as well. The best decision I have made for my dog and I would highly reccomend him to anyone!

Russell offers a fabulous service. He is great with our animals, gives them their annual checkups, vaccines and helps with issues as they arise. We have 5 animals and it makes life so much easier to have their doctor come to them. I highly recommend Saddleback Mobile Vet.

Dr. Bauman was wonderful. He was very responsive, knowledgeable and accommodating. We were so grateful and appreciative of his compassionate care. He continued to follow up with my injured pet's progress until our pet was healed. I would absolutely refer him to anyone in need of at home vet care.

Dr. Bauman is wonderful. He and his assistant wasted no time getting over to my home on James Island to help my cat. Peanut is challenging to say the least, pretty aggressive and evasive to tell the truth. She had a leg injury and I could not get close enough to see it, much less get her in a carrier to take her anywhere. I knew something was wrong and she needed to be seen so I called Saddleback and got an immediate response. When he arrived he and his assistant were so nice, and they put me at ease. Peanut had to be sedated, like I said, she is a bit of a challenging animal, and I could not bear to be in the room. Dr. Bauman sent me text updates from upstairs throughout his exam, and assured me of her well-being the entire time I was pacing like a maniac downstairs. After the exam he took the time to fully explain the problem, and what he had done to treat it. He even text me a bit after he left to check on her progression coming out of sedation. Thank you Dr. Bauman! I am so relieved to have Peanut on the mend!

Dr. Russell Bauman is an awesome mobile vet. His years of experience in veterinary medicine make him a great person to call for any in home veterinary needs. He is very knowledgeable and has a wide background in vet medicine. He offers a variety of mobile services in the comfort of your home which eliminates the stress of going to a veterinary office. Whenever I need anything for my pet, I do not hesitate to give him a call. I trust him completely with the care of all of my animals. He is always quick to respond and addresses any concerns I have with my pets. Great Vet!

Dr. Russel is a great guy with lots of expertise. He comes out same day, normally within 1-2 hours or sooner. Even though he is mobile he is set up to do everything in the field the same day, which is a plus for when you don't want to drag your pets out to the vet clinic, especially if you have farm animals. Dr. Russel has treated my sick goats with success and then performed dehorning on older goats with great success and no problems, for older goats this is sometimes tricky. Saddleback is definitely the clinic I recommend and will continue using.
