The village of Ruidoso, NM sits at 6900 feet above sea level. Animals coming from significantly lower altitudes, especially older animals and those with known heart conditions may be adversely affected due to decreased oxygen levels in the air. A vaccination against Rattlesnake venom is now available for dogs.
At Ruidoso Animal Clinic, we offer a variety of diagnostic services for your pet. Pet diagnostics are designed to identify health problems as well as their level of severity so that treatment can be planned. Radiology Services: Our on-site digital X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the diagnosis and evaluation of many conditions including fractures, urinary blockage, bowel obstruction, and respiratory distress.
The pet surgical services available at Ruidoso Animal Clinic are provided in a sterile surgical environment by our own team of veterinary professionals. Anesthesia: We utilize isoflurane gas anesthetic to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high risk patients. Continuous patient monitoring: Vital signs for each patient are monitored throughout all procedures.

Normally, I visit the vet clinic near my home in Alamogordo. Ever since the day I went to Ruidoso Animal Clinic for an Emergency Visit, I can firmly say I will probably never go back to the one near my home. The vet here is so nice and thorough! She fully explained everything that was wrong with our fur baby and she answered all of our questions in depth.
Especially about their food and why it matters. To me, this is so important because veterinarians are the only voices our fur babies have. I love the relationship I have with the vet here and her immense knowledge of the animals. The hour drive is worth it because I know she cares. I have never felt this way with any previous veterinarians I've had in the past. Thank you Ruidoso Animal Clinic for being so helpful and above all, KIND!

Brought our beloved dog in and learned that she was terminally ill. Doctor and tech were so very kind and explained all options. Walked us through the very difficult end of her life with great compassion. Fees were reasonable and discussed prior to every step so no ugly surprises at the end. I highly recommend them!

We have nothing but positive experiences with both visits. They were quick and efficient with getting us scheduled and in for 2 surgeries. Both surgeries went very well and our sweet pup has recovered quickly and is again. They show true care and love for our dog just as we would which brings peace of mind when leaving them in a not so pleasant situation. Barley and the Miller's are all very grateful for the doctors and staff at Ruidoso Animal Clinic!

As an out of state vacationer I was skeptical about taking my Ripp to another vet. We got there and the staff was awesome very understanding and willing to help us in every way they could. It's now been a few days and Ripp has perked up and is acting like he feels so much better! I am very thankful for the team members and doctor who helped us! This is a very professional and well established clinic!

As an out of country vacationer, my circumstances were difficult to accommodate. The clinic staff are professional and the veterinarians thorough in their assessment. Although "MY" schedule didn't permit this practice to perform the needed surgery, I feel confident they would've done it with the same care and attention given during the assessment. The clinic staff and veterinarian forwarded the documentation and aided by locating a practice for referral. I would most definitely recommend this practice.

We are new to the area, have 4 dogs and a cat, so need regular vet care. We feel very fortunate to have found Ruidoso Animal Clinic. We've had two of our dogs cared for already and are very impressed with the level of care and attention. One of our dogs is diabetic and Dr. Favis is helping us get control of her blood glucose, which has been difficult to maintain at a stable level. Thanks for your care!

We had trouble getting our pupper in to get seen everywhere in alamagordo. Emergency situation. But Ruidoso Animal Clinic got him in the next day and he is feeling much better! I will continue to drive 50 minutes to have my puppers seen here specifically. Where they care for the patient and not the depth of your pockets.
