Risser Jerry Fishers Veterinary Hospital was founded in 1979 by local veterinarian David Brown, DVM. We are a well-established AAHA-accredited animal hospital, 6-doctor small animal practice with 3 locations in the northern Indianapolis suburbs (2 in Fishers and 1 in Carmel). Our highly respected, thriving practice has vested DVMs, RVTs and compassionate customer service staff as well as nurses with over 170 years of collective veterinary experience. Our vet staff is among the finest in Indiana.
Services
Fishers Veterinary Associates offers not one but three different locations in the Fishers & Carmel communities. Services may differ at each location, so be sure to visit the website for the clinic nearest you to check what services they offer.
Fishers Veterinary Associates has been accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) since 1988. Only 12-15% of veterinary hospitals in the United States and Canada are accredited by AAHA. Unlike human hospitals, not all animal hospitals are required to be accredited. This means we holds ourselves to a higher standard, and that your pet is receiving care at a hospital that has passed the highest standards in veterinary care. We are evaluated every three years by highly trained consultants on our adherence to approximately 900 different standards of veterinary care.
At Fishers Veterinary Associates, we take the physical and mental health of our patients into consideration when performing services and treatments. We have Fear Free Certified Professionals on our team who are working to "take the 'pet' out of 'petrified'" and provide stress-free visits for all of our patients.
Fishers Veterinary Hospital is proud to offer our clients a wide array of services for their pets, ranging from Oncology to Boarding. If you would like to learn more about any of our listed services, please call 317-842-5865. Regular visits to the veterinarian are the cornerstone of your pet's health.

All of the Fishers Veterinary Clinic locations are a good experience. This practice was founded by Dr Brown many many years ago. He has other members in his practice now and I think it is an excellent practice to take your small animals to. We found the staff to be very confident and for the veterinarians to be excellent. We are on our third animal being treated in this practice.

I will keep you posted as we have a golden retriever that is currently having some GI issues. They have an ongoing for 3 to 4 months. This I know can be difficult to treat. So we're hopeful that we're going to be able to arrive at a good outcome. One other mention I think it's very good to have some type of pet insurance for major issues. They accept Trupanion and actually have it in their computer systems and file claims on your behalf. Excellent Veterinary services.

Our dog, Hank was in pretty rough shape when we got home. He had a mass on his spleen which had started bleeding. He was having difficulty standing and had very labored breathing. I rushed him to FVA and they took care of him right away. He needed. to have his spleen removed but they wanted to get him stabilized and stronger before going in. This was the exact right thing to do.

They gave him a medication that stemmed the bleeding and he was much stronger in the morning so they did the surgery. It went very well and he is on the mend. They took excellent care of him and our family. They gave us updates several times a day from both the Techs and the Doctor. We could not be more thankful for their care and support. Hank thanks them too.

I feel very fortunate to call The fishers veterinary hospital and clinic "my vet". The doctors and staff are very personable, kind, intelligent and caring. Many of them greet my pets by name even before we check in for our appointment. I appreciate them having three locations however I primarily use the Fishers location. I like having the availability of communicating with the staff by phone, text and/or email. Also, I feel that their pricing for services is very competitive. I highly recommend this practice!

Might want to make sure that when you're sending medical history that the pet owner doesn't work at that vet hospital its in route to. Really disappointed to see the opinions of your staff about my puppy, her vaccination status and how I was or was not going to pay for a veterinary bill. Shame on you.

Everyone in the office is very friendly and professional. The staff has always taken the time to explain any exam and/or treatment procedure. We have had 3 dogs over the years and could not be happier with the care they received.

We have been going to Fishers Veterinary Hospital since we have moved to Indiana back in 2014! They are a fantastic hospital, and truly care about their patients! They're wonderful with our dog, and treat him as if he is one of their own!

This vet clinic is always there when I need them. Aside from being caring, thorough, professional, and compassionate, they are always able to accommodate me and my pup in a time of need. From wellness exams to emergency visits, and end of life care, I can count on each and every staff member to answer any questions I may have and go out of their way to make sure my pup is comfortable. I would absolutely recommend this clinic.

I had only been a client for one appointment (new state resident) before tragedy struck. The after hours vet stepped out of church to help and call me back. Then gave me access to palliative care resources to help me get another day with my fur baby. I think the vet likely knew my baby was not going to make it, but she calmed me down, then she gave me a way to spend some more time with her at home. They got me in the schedule the next business day they were open. I will always be thankful for those extra 24 hours and the compassion I got from the team here.

I absolutely love this place! The staff are so friendly and kind. The doctors are thorough and try to make your pet as comfortable as possible. I take my cat there and my parents have taken their animals to this location for years. I have encountered Dr. Brown and Dr. Shultz. They both did a great job and gave me peace of mind!

Awesome staff and facilities! Dan and the crew took excellent care of our elder puggle in their boarding area. He needed some extra medical attention at the end of his stay and the onsite medical staff took the time to make sure he was safe and healthy. Our little guy came home in great shape thanks to the kind and knowledgeable folks at Fishers Veterinary! Highly recommend!

I adopted a cat from IACS and I wanted her to be checked out since she had been wheezing. I made an appointment and brought her in. Really great staff. They went through everything I had on the cat and gave me recommendations on stuff to screen for. This cat was very skittish and they were so kind and patient with me and the cat. I absolutely recommend Fishers Vet Hospital.

We had our annual canine appointment today for our dog, Stella. I cannot say enough about Dr. Schulz and her team. Stella can be anxious around new people. Dr. Schulz was patient and kind, ensuring Stella had a great and successful check up. We cannot not be happier with our veterinarian and her team! The staff is always kind and responsive to our needs.

They've been our vet for almost four years and I have yet to have a bad experience there, even though I have pets that are spoiled rotten and who have separation anxiety. They get it and they work around my dogs needs. She is a rescue who is very bonded to me and who hates places like this. They take the time to make Ivy feel relaxed and they listen to me and my suggestions.

The techs are all super friendly. They have very strict safety precautions for covid now. You call upon arrival to check in, a tech will collect your pet at the front door (unless your presence is necessary you will have to wait outside/in your car), then you'll get a call when complete to make a payment over the phone and get your pet at the exit.

Regarding my review of Fishers Veterinary hospital posted 12/27/2020 where Jackie responded saying to call if I wanted to discuss anything, perhaps she forgot that I called and spoke to her 2 days after my cat was euthanized and several days before I posted. I discussed every situation that I referred to and included names and details. It was at that time that I requested that all records, blood work results and x rays of my remaining dogs(2) and cats(2)be transferred to my new veterinary facility. Once again, my phone call was of no importance and forgotten.

This hospital comes up when you search for an emergency location. It was also suggested by my usual vet clinic who couldn't see us. I had a cat who had been poisoned by a plant and tried to come in and they refused to see us. I told them they were listed as an emergency facility and she said, "well we aren't." Very disappointed in how they handled my situation, given I was right outside their door with an extremely alarming and potentially life threatening problem. I quickly got her to VCA which did not hesitate to take her in.

Amazing job with our baby Zola! They were caring and knowledgeable. They also took amazing precautions regarding Covid-19! We are truly so very thankful that we switched to them. Thank you soooo much!

I tried taking my new golden doodle puppy here on a Saturday morning. My appointment was for 7:50 AM and I arrived about 745. Because of coronavirus going on they apparently wanted us to call and wait at our cars and they would come out and get the dog. This is great except for the fact that they never communicated this and they let me stand outside for 20 minutes with my dog just looking at me.

Never was I told about this no one came out to tell me I just stood there with them staring at me and they finally came out and told me that I needed to call for them to take my dog when I was standing right there. I'm not saying I don't agree with what they are doing but they are acting like we are not people. If you're going to take precautions at least communicate them with your customers.

Since we have a new dog I probably wouldn't have come if I knew they were just going to take my puppy and make me wait outside. We will not be coming back and I'm not torturing my dog at his first vet visit.

I have taken my dogs here in the past. Usually referred over by their carMel office. I feel confident when I wwalk in here that my pet is goinG to get the kind of care they deserve. Today my Labrador had an ultra sound and dropped her off in the morning and picked her up in the afternoon. Results came in a timely fashion. The front desk people here are great. Plenty of space as well. I would highly recommend these guys.

I am always pleased with the care and concern shown to my cats by both the doctors and support staff. I am grateful that my 16 year old cat was able to be seen so quickly when she exhibited extremely concerning symptoms, and the office staff went the extra mile to help me get an appointment the same day. I have the utmost respect for everyone working in this challenging yet rewarding field.

I am so very grateful for all of the care Fishers Veterinary Hospital has given my cat! I have not had one bad experience here and I've been taking my cat here for over a year. The staff is always friendly, will answer any questions you have, and truly adore your pets. They have multiple locations located in the area and they even have Saturday hours!

I have a Bengal cat and he is the craziest (and coolest) little dude you'll ever meet. Due to his natural instincts he gets into everything and is super active. Whenever I've had an emergency come up Fishers Vet had a bet on-call to help answer my questions and make sure my cat was okay. Recently my cat has decided that I'm not allowed to trim his claws anymore so luckily they're also here to provide services like that too.

I specifically want to call out Dr. Collins. She has gone above and beyond! My cat was diagnosed with asthma and she did tons of research to find options for us to manage it. Draco and I really appreciate everything that Dr. Collins and the rest of the staff do for us!

Great place to take your animal! I started taking my dog here about 4 years ago. All the vets and technicians are great. They send yearly reminders when it's time for my dogs annual visit and honestly it's always a great experience. It's nice knowing my dog will get the best treatment and great service.

After losing 2 beloved pets at Fishers Veterinary Clinic, I have had to find more qualified Vets for my pet family. It was the complete incompetence of Dr. Lee that my dog was diagnosed as having a cold when in fact he had the deadly, and very common infection of blastomycosis. With the commonality of blasto in this region, my Zoe should have been tested during the FIRST visit.not after the 5th.

By then, it was too late and my baby died in my arms. This was nearly a year ago, and I am still heartbroken by the senseless death. What I am certain of is that Dr. Lee does not have enough training to treat ANY animal. Might be time for some continuing education seminars, Dr. Brown and team! Blastomycosis is a deadly but curable virus in this area and all pet owners need to have their pets tested for this if they are having flu like symptoms from the START! Clearly the vets at Fishers Veterinary Hospital need a lesson in this.

Despite one bad experience here with another doctor, I absolutely love Dr. Lee. She has taken care of my mom and aunts dogs for years so i decided to give her a try. Putting my cat down was one of the hardest things i've had to do and she was nothing but caring and supportive through the whole process. i can't thank her enough for everything she did for Curie. I recommend her to anyone looking for a quality vet

Dr Karen Collins and staff are the most caring and knowledgeable around. We would not take our puppies to see any other vet. They go the extra mile to make sure our pets get the care needed. They have helped our dogs with weight issues, cancer, and dental concerns. Their facilities are welcoming and I have never felt worried about leaving my animals with them.

I switched to Fishers vet after a recommendation from a friend because I was not pleased with my vet. Dr Lee is AMAZING. She treats my dog and I as if we are her only clients. My 2 year old lab has many many allergies and she has worked diligently with me to solve these problems, even down to computing a special recipe of food I make for my lab. She always calls me back even if its in the evening hours.

We truly feel cared for here. The other staff is excellent as well, always loving on my Sadie and giving her the princess treatment. I have complete confidence in this place and will never go anywhere else. They really go above and beyond.
