I typically do not leave reviews but I have to for this Animal Hospital. My cat woke up in pain out of the blue and no one would take him in except this hospital. They treated him so well and were truly the nicest to deal with. They really care! We are still grieving and they sent a card signed expressing their sympathies. I can not express how grateful I am to them and cant thank them enough for being so kind.

A huge thank you to the staff of this veterinary hospital. Cannot say enough good for the service they provided during a difficult time. A time when no other animal hospital would accept an emergency visit for a family pet that was in pain. The staff was great and very compassionate. Thank you!

Our cat was very sick and passing blood. We first tried calling an animal hospital close to us and since we were not an existing patient they could not see us that day so we went down the list of hospitals and called Prescott Animal Hospital. They asked if we could come in right away (even though we were not an existing patient). When we got there they had a separate entrance and waiting area for cats, a very nice feature since every cat we have had has been afraid of barking dogs.

Since we had checked in over the phone, we only needed to give our name and within 5 minutes we were shown to a sparkling clean exam room. 5 minutes later the veterinary technician came and took down the details and did a check of our cat's vitals. In less than 10 minutes the veterinarian arrived, Lauren Taylor. Dr. Taylor was very gentle with the cat, explained the tests she wanted to do and why.

We assumed we would need to leave our cat for the day and were thrilled to hear that they could do the tests right away and we could wait as it would only be 30-40 minutes. Sure enough they were right on time. After some antibiotics at home to clear up her infection and some probiotics to counter the side effects, our kitty is back to normal. I thought the price for the service was very reasonable.

On two different occasions these wonderful people have stay late to make sure my fur babies get the care and treatment they needed. They are hands down the best vet I've ever dealt with and the only vet I will ever deal with again. Thank you

There are places and people that stand out from the rest. Prescott Animal Hospital is one of those places, and all of the staff are those people. Clean, professional and they really go the extra mile to ensure your pets needs are taken care of and that all your questions and concerns get answered. Fantastic group of people here, very impressed.

This animal hospital was the best. We took our little girl ( fox terrier) there about five years ago because we weren't happy with the care, (or not care) she was getting locally. The staff at Prescott were more than you could hope for. Always caring and loving and always took the time to care and explain. Even during covid they were professional and the best.

About a month ago we had to make that dreaded call. Our sweet girl was suffering and needed help to go on to her heavenly home. The staff here were caring and supportive. I would reccomend this animal hospital to all. Oh, and ps, it was a 45 minute drive from home, but sooo worth what they have done for us and our precious girl "Charlie".

You have to leave messages either when calling or on their website. You won't get a person. Then they don't get back. Maybe because I'm not a current patron. Just moved here with 3 cats. I'll drive a little further for better service and care. I see other people aren't too thrilled with them either. The other review site starting with G almost certainly has a bunch of fake reviews left by this business.

My animals are my furry little kiddos that I love to pieces, the only place I would trust with their care is Prescott Animal Hospital. From the first phone call, to the amazing vet techs, to the vet and the spectacular front desk staff, everyone is so knowledgeable, friendly and a pleasure to deal with. My kitties are happy there so that alone tells you what type of place this is! Thank you for giving me so much confidence in the care you provide Waffles and Cheddar Cheese.

Every single staff member at the Prescott Animal Hospital has been incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate and kind. Taking my fearful and reactive dog here was a breeze, and they took such great care of her! My two cats also had their checkups here recently and I am really happy with the service and care. There's no better feeling than knowing your pets are in the very best of hands.

2 curious pups and a meet and greet session at the vet's lol. Well let's just say I expected the trip to be an interesting one. Thankfully my thoughts were wrong. The staff was awesome, the vet was helpful and the babies came home looking like they'd have no problem returning to see their new friends. J-Lo and Jackson send paw pumps to all.

I brought my dog in because she was coughing her water up. I told the vet that when I got her from the animal shelter that she had petechial hemorrhage in her eyes. The vet asked me if I was a nurse. No, I was just repeating what the shelter had told me that they thought someone had tried to strangle her to death. 11 years later and her coughing got worse.

I brought her in to see if something had changed in her throat. The vet told me that she just drank her water to fast and to elevate her water dish. I thought okay for 11 years the dog had been drinking her water to fast. Whatever she is the Vet she should know. So I elevated her dish and then as time went on she would just cough for no reason. Today I took her to another vet and told them the same thing.

This time they took x-rays of her throat and told me that she had a collapsing trachea and gave me some medication for her. Would it have been so hard for the Vet a PVA to actually listen to me? Thank God I got smart and took her to another Vet. Now I know for sure they killed my other dog. If you just want to get you dog its shots PVA is a good Vet but for anything else DO NOT TRUST THE DOG YOU LOVE TO THESE PEOPLE.

They don't care about your pet except for the money they can make off of it. I hate that place and always will. Arrogant is to mild a word for the attitude of the people who work there.

The front desk girls are amazing and work very very hard. I have a 13 year old dog and had been trying to locate a vet who would care for her. They were able to accommodate us. The vet who cared for Ruby was amazing, honest, kind and helpful. Thank you all so much who cared for Ruby.

I learned of Dr. Skinner a few years ago and what a fine surgeon and orthopedic vet he was. As it turned out my own dog needed surgery for a large lipoma. The surgery went fine but the aftermath was a disaster with a visit to the animal emergency room in the middle of the night. There were additional costs and worry after this so-called fine surgeon had done his "best".

But it didn't end there. 2 1/2 years later Dr. Skinner was one of three vets that missed my dog's cancer diagnosis (enlarged lymph glands). But that's not all. More recently two friends of mine had lipoma surgery on their dogs with nearly identical results as mine. It seems that there is a pattern of incompetence with not only this vet but the staff as well. Or is it possible this whole experience is to get more money from his clients? I'll probably never know. STAY AWAY!

If you are considering this hospital/clinic, you must know that your precious one is very fortunate! I would drive two (2) hours to go see them (I loss my cat recently). The level and quality of service at this establishment is unparalleled to any other. You re not just a number at the Prescott Animal Hospital. Your story and your opinion matters!

They will go out of their way to ensure your companion gets the best care possible, all while making sure you are well informed. This will give you the proper knowledge to make the right decisions. I am now waiting for my new little baby sphynx to arrive in a couple of months. you can be 100% certain that I will be doing the drive out there again! I can't wait to share my new addition with them when she arrives. There is nowhere else I would rather take her.

I never leave reviews, but I had to for this place! The staff here is absolutely amazing - they are some of the most caring people, especially in difficult situations. I absolutely cannot say enough good things about them. My cat stanley had a urinary blockage, I spoke with Brooke, Bella, Karissa, Lisa and several other girls (who are all amazing) and they got me in the same day 3 times.

The vets that helped me (Dr. Picketts and Dr. Gardner) went above and beyond to help my little guy, they took the time to explain what every medication was for, and they answered all of my questions for me. Stanley is still on the road to recovery and it has definitely been a difficult time for me, but the way the staff care about him has really helped.

They also sent me a welcome letter in the mail, and in the past they have sent me condolence letters when I have had to put my pets down. They truly care about every single animal they see, even when it comes down to difficult decisions. They take the time to thoroughly explain all of your options and the costs so it is not a surprise at the end. I cannot say enough about these lovely ladies, from stanley and I - Thank you!

The amount of reviews for this animal hospital says it all! They really have the most polite and friendly staff. Very reasonable prices as well. They took our bulldog Maxwell in on short notice with a dew claw issue even though he is extremely anxious and the appointment went very smooth. They even printed a photo of him as a sort of halloween card for us to bring home. We are pumped we found such a great new vet in the area - Thank you!

Fantastic crew! I'm very particular about who I deal with, these folks are knowledgeable, up to date, great listeners, super friendly and helpful! Love the fact that they follow up with you post appointment. I travel over an hour (each way) to see these guys every 6-8 weeks rather than switch vets and it's 100% worth it!

I have e-mailed and called for several months, left many voice mails and e-mails and they will not return my calls or respond. We have been with this vet for years and how can we continue, if they wont get back to me to make an appt? Currently looking for a new vet. Beyond frustrating!

My family has been going here for as long as I can remember with our pets and now that I have my own pets I still continue to bring them here. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. They are always taking good care of my animals and are really helpful when you call them.

I really do not know where to begin! This is the saddest excuse for a vet practice on the planet! They wanted $600 for an ultrasound, but with 11 vets in this practice only 1 vet knows how to do an ultrasound and he was off! Really! A resident can do an ultrasound! Do not go to them! That are only there to make money! They do not care about you, or your suffering when your pet is in pain! I would give a zero if I could!

We've visited PAH a number of times, however will not be back. Unfortunately (for my dog) they refuse to let owners back in the area where they clip nails, etc. After communicating this is for my dog's wellbeing to ease his stress level, I was told it's their policy, and this is a 'security issue'. Sadly my dog who has never been afraid to go the vet (because I was allowed to be there with him) has developed major anxiety at their office.

Such a simple fix, and it's in the dog's best interest for the owner to be present. These were not sterile procedures, just routine maintenance. I hope they change their policy.

We've been clients of Prescott Animal Hospital for 5-6 (if not more!) years now for our small & big animals. The service we receive is always amazing. Even during the pandemic, when no one was allowed in the building, they found a way to reassure me when I had to take my little dog in for an emergency. I was really stressed (I was a mess!) so they suggested to have me on speakerphone when they did the exam.

I felt like I was in the room with my doglet, it was reassuring. I would definitely recommend Prescott Animal Hospital to anyone who needs a great hospital for their animals.

Took my animals here for many many years and they have recently gone down hill. You can't get ahold of anyone no matter how many times you call, staff is rude and they are overpriced. Doesn't seem like they genuinely care about pets anymore and more about money.

I moved to Prescott 5 months ago with two senior cats, one of which has since crossed the rainbow bridge. You may read some bad reviews for this hospital but from my own experience, I think they may be unwarranted. Accessibility and availability are some of the best I have experienced, call backs are prompt. The prices are reasonable, they have modern diagnostic capabilities and they are a compassionate group. IMO the only downside is that they are understaffed.

Great service! We were in town for only a short time when our dog developed some problems. Of the places we called, this was the only one who would see us within 24 hours. Appointments at the other two were over a week out and over a month out, respectively. Dr. Dow is excellent, very respectful, good communication, spent time with me post visit to brief me up on his assessment.

I am extremely unhappy with this animal hospital. I am new to the Prescott area and have been looking for a new hospital to establish care for my 12-year-old beagle/Bassett mix. Prior to the recent curbside service due to Covid, we were roomed very quickly, no waiting for a competent vet tech, however, their bedside manner needs serious improvement and they didn't seem knowledgeable.

No one looks happy to work there. The vets are cold and distant and you were lucky to get five minutes with them. The care plans are packed with unnecessary procedures and you would have to be medically sophisticated to understand that most procedures were not needed. When looking for a veterinarian, I look for compassion, kindness, a connection with my dog and me and most of all an extensive knowledge of veterinarian medicine. This I did not find at PAH. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone!

We've been going to this practice since 2005. Like many practices in Prescott, this one has well trained and highly capable veterinarians but suffers from rather poor staff management. A small example of many: It's unacceptable to be on hold for half an hour for a veterinary practice. The message this sends is that their clients' time is not important. If, like us, you choose to go here anyway, keep your interactions with the front office staff as minimal as possible.

This is the most treat and street vet I have ever had the displeasure of going to. They push everything you don't need and not what is needed. Worst vet I've ever been too. If you just need a groom or shots sure they are probably okay, but if your pet is sick, I would not recommend.

I'm not really comfortable writing a review about an animal hospital, but I'm just mad enough to do it. I hope it might cause them to improve their practices, or that future customers might think twice about taking their pet(s) there. I adopted a cat recently from a rescue and took him to Prescott Animal Hospital for a wellness check. He had also developed a skin condition that I wanted them to diagnose.

The doctor I saw couldn't identify the condition, so she gave me a steroid and antibiotic to try. After the conditioned worsened over the next few weeks, I took the cat back. This time, the vet (a different one than the first one) was baffled as well, and ordered bloodwork. Sent us home with a different medication and said that, if this doesn't work, she would want to do a biopsy and send it off.

So I walked out of there with a bill for about $400 for that day and an estimate of $500 for the biopsy. By now, I've spend about $600 on this cat at PAH. The condition got even worse after that. I decided to try another animal hospital, so I took the cat to a competitor who has been in Prescott for decades. When I got there, they came outside and picked up the cat (COVID restrictions), and the vet came out shortly after and said, "Ah, it's just ringworm!" She gave me an oral medicine, and my cat's skin cleared up after just several days.

Why couldn't PAH make this simple diagnosis? After having spent around $600 there for nothing, I paid $117 at the competing animal hospital, and my cat is cured! Like I said previously, I hope this review helps you make a decision if you're new to Prescott and looking for a vet.

I love the Docs at PAH. I have 2 little dogs with some crazy issues. I've always gotten great service & they saved one of my Papillons from certain death from pancreatitis. She also had bladder stones which Dr Killian handled with utmost care. I have nothing but great things to say about PAH & I'd say if you have animals you either need insurance or a savings account to handle the unexpected events. Hope this helps push the bad reviews down a bit.

Brought my cat in for an exam that I was told would be $58 as she wasn't feeling well, lethargic, not eating, sneezing - like a 'kitty flu'. Over a ridiculous two hour period tests were done that turned out fine. Didn't stop there - was then told more tests were needed followed by a list rattled off of death-sentence illnesses.

I finally put a stop to it after my bill climbed to $460 and nothing found. Was told the 'next step' would be to have a $350 ultra-sound done to be scheduled at the doctor's convenience. STILL had no answers, other than my cat was a little dehydrated. I found it odd I could hear a calculator going in the background while on the phone with the treating veterinarian - a significant pause as she worked the calculator tallying up all the fees. Also, I was also advised they would not take payments, nor a pre-dated check, nor bill me.

Given the state of several people being unemployed due to COVID, there was absolutely no bend. I had to call someone to respond to the facility and pay this unexpected large bill for me.having to wait in our cars as they would not allow payment before the discharge of my cat. In other words, MONEY for SURE takes precedence - that's their business and less about caring for the animals, nor the families of these pets.

The bill will always be at least $300+ as they won't tell you anything unless you have these blood tests completed. My father also went through this - brought in two young, healthy cats, for a health exam, with nothing wrong, and walked out having to pay $600. My family and I will never go back. Great ads on the radio - now I know where they get the money to pay for them.

We rushed our 4 year old lab to PAH after he developed severe side affects to prednisone which they prescribed. He was bleeding out internally. They worked on him for 2 hours before they closed for the day. Dr Killian sent us to Yavapai Emergency Animal Hospital for the night and was expecting us to return the following morning at 7:30am. Our lab died 6 hours after being admitted to Yavapai Emergency.

To this day no one from PAH, including Dr. Killian, has called for condolences, to discuss why our lab died, or anything. We find their actions to be extremely unprofessional and heartless. We even sent them 2 emails expressing our disappointment with their follow up. We've been taking all of our large and small animals to PAH for 20 years and paid them $1000's of dollars for our animal care.

Their lack of professionalism and care about their patient is very heartless. My wife and I will no longer use their services. We would suggest you find another vet clinic for your animal care. They obviously don't care about you or your animals well being. They ARE very proud of how much they charge for their subpar service. Martin Flick Judith Robertson

Dr Nolte is not a professional and does not treat his clients well. He ran charges up on my account-- even though I called in advance and had a note on my account that I wanted to be a part of all decision making (I am out of state and had someone bring in my horse) and that in general I wanted to be conservative in treatments and diagnostics (he is a young horse w no lameness history). Instead, Nolte racked up almost $500 in charges without calling me (ultrasounds, sedation, etc), and then tried to call me and waited about 5 minutes before racked up another $3-400 in x-rays (even the handler--who didn't even know about my account notes--- told him about halfway through this that she was getting uncomfortable and wanted to talk to me).

By the time I called back 8 minutes later, it was all done and I was financially responsible for it. When I tried to work with the clinic to split the bill, (I had only technically given permission for an exam of less than $100 so I could have argued for $700 back--splitting seemed more than fair), they basically told me to bug off. I spent tons of time writing composed professional emails to them over the past month explaining how this was mishandled and asking for them to work with me, but since they won't, I'm doing what I can now to warn others.

Dr. Killian is great and boarding is good. That's where it ends. Management is terrible. I constantly have trouble getting prescriptions sent to online pharmacies and was told by the mgr. Nancy that online pharmacies are selling counterfeit drugs. What a lie and scare tactic. I do by a drug from PAH that needs refrigeration. I called in a prescription a week ago and never received a call that it was ready.

Not the 1st. time this has happened. I went to pick it up and the charge ws $140, when it should have been $65. Total incompetence. I asked the desk person to have one of the owners call me as I'm so sick of this happening. She gave me a look like that wouldn't happen and then said she will tell them. It is now 5 days, and of course no call back.

We moved here in Aug 2017 with our 2 dogs. PAH was recommended to us. The first couple of visits were uneventful. Dr Amy Joy was professional and seemed competent. Then we had to schedule an urgent visit for Bear, our 12+ year old Golden Afghan. He needed a new prescription for pain meds, and I wanted to have him evaluated for pain management treatment.

He had arthritis in his hips and knee. Dr Joy wasn't available, so we were scheduled with Dr Skinner on Thursday Nov 16. I got the impression that we were an intrusion to him. Seemed like he couldn't wait to get in and out. He wrote me a couple of scripts, but I had to have his assistant call him back in to check Bear's teeth. He performed a very disinterested and superficial examination.

When I didn't get a call as promised the next day with the results of Bear's blood analysis, I called and left a message requesting the info. 3 days later and 3 calls later, still no blood report. On Tues, Nov 21, I called and asked to speak to the office mgr. The receptionist put me on hold and after a few minutes came back and told me that the mgr was slammed with paperwork and couldn't talk to me then, but she would call me back within an hour. 3 hours later, no call, so I paid a personal visit to PAH, and I was ushered in to an examination room by the same mgr who was too busy with paperwork to talk to me on the phone.

We were soon joined by Dr Skinner who apparently was too busy to call me with the results of my Bear's $119 blood test. I got the results of the test, and I let them know that they would never see me or my dogs again. In Skinner's defense, he did leave a message on my wife's cell phone on Sunday Nov 19, but she didn't check her messages.

Her phone was listed as a secondary number on our account. Our primary # was never called. Our pets are too important to entrust their well being to people who are too busy to display a little common sense and compassion.

Today, we took our dog to the Prescott Animal Hospital on Iron Springs Road. He had somehow injured his front right wrist and forearm and we wanted to know how extensive his injury was. We were greeted immediately and we were treated professionally with sincere personal attention. The final bill was more than reasonable for his x-ray, for his medication and diagnostic assessment.

We will be recommending to all of our friends with pets that they use the Prescott Animal Hospital. Doctor Dow and his staff are awesome. Thank you! Update: 7:19pm He is doing great! Walking gingerly outside, looking for Juniper berries. Yay!
