Petvacx Animal Hospital and Mobile Veterinary Services was founded by Dr. Deborah Dodson and Dr. Raymond Craft in 1982, with the mission of providing convenient and affordable mobile care. Petvacx was the first mobile veterinary clinic of it's kind in the country. In 1989 Petvacx expanded by opening its full service animal hospital in Rockville, Maryland.
We are committed to providing quality Veterinary medicine along with friendly, compassionate service. In addition to the services we offer through our hospital and mobile clinic, we also make house calls throughout most of Montgomery County. It is important for us that Petvacx be a place where it is abundantly clear how much we love and value our patients, but also our pet parents and our employees. There is a huge movement towards corporate large-scale veterinary medicine, which in its very nature prioritizes profit and impacts medical decision making.

I've been coming here for years and I could never complain, although when it comes to wait times, I do be finding myself waiting for extended periods of time but overall great service and care.

They have no programs for low income folks, they came off "money hungry" instead of caring genuinely for the pet. They don't even care if you have no money, no payment plans, nothing. There should be a place where you can take your pet and be affordably treated. It's sad when an establishment cares more for the money than the animal, the animals didn't ask to he here.just upsetting and the answer to the pet owner SHOULD NOT be "give the animal back or away if you can't afford it" Needless to say, my family will not be back, I'm not getting rid of my animal just because you're money hungry

They are good with my older dog but my aussie puppy is another story. The first puppy visit they didn't have control over him and he fell off the raised exam table. They also sent my fiance home with the flea and tick treatment simparica trio which our breeder put in the contract we are not allowed to give. I haven't gotten my aussies MDR1 gene tested yet and I have given them a "drugs to avoid and use caution with" list TWICE and it's been brushed off/ the second puppy visit yesterday they tried to give us the simparica trio AGAIN and luckily my fiance told me over the phone before we walked out.

According to him, the vet who loves aussies disagrees with me. I mentioned that I am doing what our breeder told us and the simparica is specifically in my contract with that breeder to NOT give him and if I do I void any warranty. My thing is, this is the SECOND time I have had to tell them this and I KNOW there's more than one flea and tick treatment so why not recommend something else for him.

I was referred to Petvacx by my regular vet when my dog needed stitches out. I went to their walk in Wednesday and was blown away by how wonderful they are. Leslie the tech was fantastic and the doctor was so great. I am definitely going back, they were fabulous.

While we don't have a long history with Petvacx, we reached out to this practice when our beloved dog was diagnosed with lymphoma and was receiving supportive hospice care. We wanted to find a vet that offers home visits and could provide supportive care to our pet in the comfort our our home. We were happy to learn that despite of COVID pandemic, Petvacx continues to offer home visits, while following all appropriate safety protocols.

Unfortunately our pet's disease progressed rapidly, but in this short period of time we have received most compassionate, gentle and tactful care by Dr. Jacob. The entire team seemed to care and worked hard on being able to accommodate our pet's rapidly changing needs and provided the care with compassion and grace. We are sincerely grateful for this.

Love love love Petvacx! incredible + kind staff with knowledgeable vets who really care about the animals that come in! My first dog passed away and Petvacx came to our home to put her down and I wouldn't have asked for better people to be with during that time. My rescue dog has some behavioral/reactive problems and they gave me great recommendations on how to work with her and a list of behaviorists who can help as well.

Since she is reactive they know how to work with her which is why she enjoys going! Sadly I'm moving cross country and if I could pick up Petvacx and move the vets and staff with me. I would!

My dog is scared by all strangers, so a trip to the vet causes some anxiety, one would think. Not at Petvacx, they are the MOST WONDERFUL group of people! The receptionists, technicians, and doctors are all just fabulous! My dog, who barks incessantly, at strangers never says a peep there. They give her all the time she needs to feel comfortable and do all the right things to keep her at ease.

She even lets them pet her! Beyond their fantastic bedside manor, the docs are very knowledgeable and thorough and truly care about my pup. I would (and have) recommend Petvacx to anyone who has a furry family member!

Best Vets for my fur baby Bruno. Last year he was diagnosed with intervertebral disc disease, he was paralyzed from his hind legs. With the help and treatment from the vets at Petvacx Bruno recovered mobility and has been back to running around and being the happiest he's ever been. They have also treated his seasonal allergies one year and since then he's been allergy free. I trust them with Bruno's future treatments. Thank you! From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Our 12 yr. old pug passed back in September and we’ve been coming to Petvacx for more years than I can remember. (Over 30 years) Our pug had had a small procedure done there, was brought home and passed at home unexpectedly and at the time we were so hurt and I felt so lost but so bad at the same time because we had rather lashed out, not necessarily blaming anyone but from being so upset as it happened so unexpectedly. Petvacx was NOT to blame as pugs sometimes have a hard time with anesthesia and she was getting up in age.

We received phone calls from the vet telling us how sorry they were and the most beautiful card from all the staff. Miss my Bubba so very much but will never stop bringing my fur babies to Petvacx.
Had to take my lab/boxer mix in for shots today, for which I was having apprehensions, and worrying I would start to cry, not due to the practice but because I haven’t been there since early September, around the time my fur baby passed.

They are wonderful and still very apologetic. My animals will continue to be under their care as I am comfortable with them and they are so very good with my Kiera. We hold no animosity as life happens and will continue with them for as long as I have pets. ❤️❤️❤️ (which will be forever!)

Wow - Dr. Craft and Shelly were so great with my pup and my parents pup. My pup is a large, aggressive dog and they were so gentle and quick to control her. She showed no signs of stress and they were able to take her blood and deliver vaccines with ease. THANK YOU for providing the home service, it is much appreciated!

Over the last 20+ years we have had a variety of dogs, two at a time, who have had the spectrum of ailments from routine to surgeries, emergencies, and cancers. Throughout it all, there has never been less than the optimum veterinary care provided by the Doctors at Petvacx. Their care, compassion, and understanding makes it a pleasure to use them as our vets.

Their prices are reasonable and they will go the extra mile for your pet, even when it really ends up being for the owner I could not recommend them more highly. Jon Belinkie
