After Dr. Osborn sold the practice it has gone downhill completely. They no longer treat you like a good patient but as a source of income. My dogs have frequent ear infections and the practice requires a Dr. visit each time to get more antibiotics, instead of just refilling the prescription. They gave my dogs unnecessary vaccinations. They no longer price match on prescriptions. I have seen many of the vets in the practice and have yet to leave a visit under $100+. Searching for a new vet.

Both of my dogs past away last year under the care of this establishment. I am not saying it is their fault, because I don't think it is, though there really is no way of knowing. But the fact that no one remembers them or shows any compassion when I bring in my new fur babies is pretty intense. They still aren't allowing parents in claiming COVID reasons, and though the veterinarian's that work here are pretty good and attentive, you very rarely get to see them.

You aren't allowed to stay with one vet, they pass us around like an assembly line and it is very unnerving. They are extremely expensive and I never leave with a full understanding of the health of my dogs. The techs, though have the ability to show compassion, also are very rude most of the time. This establishment seems to care more about how many animals they see in one day to make the money and less about the actually community it is supposed to be serving. I will never bring my babies back here and I would warn anyone bringing their babies to be wary and pay attention.

We had a wonderful first experience at the Pet Vet! We are new to the area and our dog gets really nervous in vet offices. Both Dr. Stay and their assistant (I wish I could remember their name!) were so understanding and knew just what to do! I also had the opportunity to speak to Dr. Stay about a wide-range of questions I had about caring by my dog and they patiently answered all my questions while giving such good care to my pup.

I felt very comfortable and impressed with the level of care, and my pup was wagging her tail and feeling much more comfortable at the end. I'm really grateful to have the personalized and attentive care of the Pet Vet staff so close!

The Pet Vet has been great! I'm a new customer and a first time pet owner and they were amazing at my vet appointment. They gave me tips and advice and even showed me how to clip my kittens nails. The first appointment was also free and I got a goodie bag which was super nice. I highly recommend this vet!

We've been taking our small dog to The Pet Vet for about 3 years now, and I have had only positive experiences with the techs and the vets. My dog actually loves going to the vet because they treat him so well! Highly recommend taking your animals here.

I think Agnes enjoyed herself. The staff member I spoke with, Lindsay, was professional and nice. When I picked up Agnes, our Cairn Terrier, after her first time at doggie daycare, she seemed relaxed, happy, tired enough but also not bedraggled and exhausted. Funnily enough, a neighbor later told me of happening to drive by, looking up, and seeing Agnes outside playing in the daycare area!

We will definitely bring Agnes there again. We have a safe, fenced-in area in our back yard, but as Agnes is our only dog, she has no one to play with. So interaction with other, compatible dogs is important. So glad we found the opportunity at Patton Ave Pet Vet!

With advance planning, my pup spent a pleasant overnight stay here while I was attending an event in Asheville. A perfect solution to make my travel easy. I'm a helicopter mom about my pup and I always have to feel he is super safe and cared for. Pet Vet on Patton made me feel he was in safe, caring hands. And next morning I picked up happy, healthy pup. Many thanks to everyone there.

Sage does not mind seeing the vet. It's the whole atmosphere of the staff and vet. When I talk to her doctor she knows everything about pass visit. Just like Sage is the only patient that she has. She explains everything. It's easy to understand what she is telling me and she really wants you to understand. I never feel rushed or feel like we're being rushed out the door. I feel comfortable that Sage is as important to her as too me.

All the staff we encountered, including the phone call to schedule the appointment made us feel top priority. Our big shy boy was comfortable right away with the vet we saw. That rarely happens and tells me a lot. Thank you Pet Vet for taking good care of us!

Leaving poor reviews is not something I do but when it comes to our fur babies I think this should be noted. Went away the first week of December and decided to board my dog here for the first time. Has great reviews and even have family who go here for their pets needs. Come today and my dog has kennel cough. Hasn't been to the dog park in the recent weeks nor anywhere else that she could be exposed to said virus.

I call the vet to give a curiosity call since they were the last place my dog stayed. A girl named Katie answered and she completely dismissed my concern. Her initial response was well our policy is not let any dogs come if they have kennel cough. Well, great, obviously. I replied by saying I understand that and that's why I'm calling to tell you!

She then goes silent for a moment and I say this isn't me calling to accuse anybody for anything but to make y'all aware. And she said k thanks I'll let someone know. is there anything else I can help you with? Long story short, kennel cough isn't easy to detect at first and for her to dismiss me and tell me there policy is blah blah blah is totally wrong. Maybe take accountability that the possibility is there and not dismiss customers. I will never board with them again.

I was told Reggie had so much fun when I picked him up and that seems to be correct! He is one sleepy boy Will definitely try to bring him by again for a play day at daycare or if I have to board him again! Thank you for taking care of my best goodest boy!

My boyfriend and I recently rescued a 6 year old dog who was in not the best shape. We took him here for his first vet visit and the staff and vet were amazing and gave our boy so much love! They listened to all my concerns and gave him the care he needed. They also sent our little Buddy home with a goody bag and a pamphlet on how we can assist him with his separation anxiety, along with tons more info.

They spent enough time with me to talk over all aspects of my elderly dog's health. I appreciated that. It was very thorough. Thanks.

I have always love Pet Vet on Patton. Never once have I left without a thorough examination and nothing but kindness from the team here. I have since moved from Asheville to Charlotte and would rather drive two hours for a vet visit than see anyone else. Their service is unbeatable. Paige was so kind to Raisin, my dog, and had nothing but great things to say to me. It is so comforting to know that the team here genuinely cares, that is hard to find these days. Thank you.

Pet Vet is the best! They take great care of my dog who comes pretty frequently. The vets, techs, and office staff are helpful, friendly, and genuinely care about their patients. They have helped me explore medication options and treatment plans for my dog. He also really enjoys their daycare, which is staffed by great attendants! We love Pet Vet!

Awesome staff. Very knowledgeable and kind even when dealing with my very energetic 1.5 year old lab, Rollo. They always follow up and remind me when something is due, flexible and accommodating with appointment dates and times. Don't recommend anything unnecessary for my dog. 10/10 do recommend. Thanks to Pet Vet and their hardworking staff!

I've been using Pet Vet for years and have been so happy with the level of service and care I, and my two dogs, receive. I kennel my pups when I'm out of town and even leave them during the day at doggie daycare. My boys love it and come home happy and tired from playing with their friends all day. The staff and vets are wonderful and really care about keeping my dogs happy and healthy. They know me and my dogs by name! I highly recommend Pet Vet in Patton for any and all veterinary services, they really are the best.

The Pet Vet indeed overcharges. They do not ask permission to give you pet multiple shots that other vets will ask you about. What I thought was a simple booster vaccine appointment ended up costing me $200, which no one warned me about. TRUST these bad reviews. It's nothing but irritation from experiences here. It's definitely a business that values quantity over quality.

Been going here for the past 8 years. We even do daycare with them. Have recently moved and still come back to get my dog serviced with them. They have gotten very money oriented and not client centric. Very disappointing! Heard a new owner has the company - hope they change their ways. Notice the poor reviews are only from the time they bought!

We were 15 minutes late for a check up with our 11 year old senior dog because we had to get a fecal sample for him. They refused to see us after we have been here for 3 years. We said we were happy to wait, but they refused. Glad to know it's ok for us to wait for up to 30 minutes to be seen, but when we are late we are refused service.

I should know better by now not to patronize any medical establishment that employes an army of staff. This business only cares about profit not you or your pet. I brought my dog in because she was losing weight, they found nothing wrong with her and sent an assistant out to attempted to sell us a laundry list of unnecessary vaccines. a little over 2 weeks later we rushed her to the emergency vet because she was having problems breathing. she was immediately diagnosed with an aggressive cancer. in retrospect it was obvious. Thanks for nothing pet vet on patton.

I always feel like our fur baby is being assessed and well treated by all the staff at Pet Vet on Patton animal services. Their groomer Christina is great with our dog Dora and does a great job with her grooming services.

They Don't care about your pet as much as they care about selling you vaccines and other services you don't need. My dog was dying of cancer and instead of helping her, they wanted to milk money out of me, even agressivly trying to sell me a vaccine for dog lime disease? I should know better by now not to patronize any medical establishment that employes an army of staff that need to be paid. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Do you have a pet and a few hundred bucks to throw away on unnecessary procedures? Then this is the place for you! Seriously- this vet is staffed by nice people and quality vet care. But there comes a point where the additional charges and unnecessary extra tests start to feel obnoxious and, frankly, greedy. I have taken my pets to Pet Vet for many, many years.

I am disappointed with how often they have insisted on tests (biopsies and specialized bloodwork) and then charging extra for medications that I could get cheaper elsewhere. And afterwards, these tests were negative and could have been skipped. It's been a pattern of this happening over and over again. Three stars because they are nice and efficient. But definitely hurting my pocketbook!

These guys run a business they don't care about you, your pet and your financial status they just charge you for every test in the world when you don't really need it and they have zero compromise. If you have an endless wallet then go to these guys but I would recommend going somewhere else.

We love the people who come outside to either get our dog or return him after a stay. Also, the Female Vet we spoke to on the phone while out of the country was very kind. However, the front desk people who answer the phone about 75% of time are rude, not in the know of anything and cause drama throughout he building. So, the first time we brought him home after a week stay there, our Dog had fleas.

The second time, he came home with a mouth allergic infection. We had to travel again just 3 days later and while there the third time, we were told he has this infection from just life and no ones knows where he got it. Costing us couple hundred dollars to cure what he got while there. Lastly, when we brought him home past 2 times he goes straight for the water bowls and downs two full bowls as though he has been thirsty for days.

Also eats 2-3 more bowls of food immediately for a day or two like he's been starving. So needless to say, we will not be using them anymore. We also scheduled and confirmed he would receive a grooming while there before even leaving town and after 5 phone calls, 3 texts moving his apt around to after the date he would be there--calling in to confirm the apt. they gave it away to someone else bc "couldn't reach us".

We had confirmed over 5 times including that morning they gave it away. Plus, the groomer texts me personally somehow being rude and suggesting we go elsewhere after I explained no worries & what the miscommunication had been. When we picked him up the last time, he was so dirty, smelly, unbrushed, not even a kennel bath which we asked for at least.

We couldn't even believe a facility would return your pet in that manner. After 8 days of being there & over $1000. Spent in 2 weeks with them. I'd look elsewhere :0. It's only $5 more bucks at the Biltmore and they're treated like kings. Blessings!

Christina did a great job grooming my little guy! We let him go way too long and he was a little monster walking around. I asked her to trim his face short along with his body and leave the ears. She did exactly that! Christina was very easy to deal with, returned phone calls, answered questions and obviously loves animals! When you pull up to Pet Vet you call and she will come out and get your dog. Masks are required and you're not allowed to go inside. The only negative is that they don't do anal glands. They do a great job and I highly recommend them for grooming!

We have always had great service for our boxer boy Moose at the Pet Vet on Patton. Our boy hates having his nails trimmed and has such anxiety when anyone attempts to trim them. The staff at the Pet Vet tried everything and ended up having to do a sedated nail trim. So, with the covid procedures in place, we made the appointment, pulled up in front of the building and called the front desk to let them know we were there.

One of the staff members came out to get our boy and take him inside. We were told that we would get a call when he was ready to be picked up. A few hours later we got the call. The procedure was the same upon picking him up, we called once there and he was brought out to our car. The payment transaction had been done using the card we had on file.

It also should be noted that our dog does not interact well with other dogs or cats. The staff at the Pet Vet went out of their way to ensure that our boy was kept apart from any other pets. I cannot thank them enough at the Pet Vet for doing an outstanding job caring for our Moose!

Pet Vet on Patton day care was a godsend as my husband and I were in town for business and used their day care service. We dropped off our two frenchies, Dom & Piper for two days of play and they were pooped by the afternoon pick up! The staff was friendly and efficient and the trainers welcomed both of our babies by name on their second day. I will be using their services next time we are in Asheville for business!

We were going on vacation in early August and decides to have our dog boarded at the Pet Vet while we were gone. We decided to have her go to their day care a few days before hand so she would be used to it. When we arrived we were told that she needed to be vaccinated for kennel cough, makes sense. We paid for the vaccination and everything was good.

Until the 3rd day when we picked her up from the day care and she was sleepy and didn't want to eat. We assumed she was just tired because she had been playing all day and was tired. When he took it out the next morning to feed and walk her, she wouldn't stop coughing and was running a small fever. Took her to the vet and guess what? She has kennel cough. Called the Pet Vet back, and their response was, "I guess one of the other dogs gave it to her.

You can't bring her back until she is better." So either their "vaccine" gave her kennel cough, or they let another dog in that had it and now we they won't let her back, which means we can't take our vacation because someone has to stay with her to feed, walk, and give her her medicine. Not even a sorry from them. We won't be back.

Pet Vet on Patton has friendly, accommodating staff at the front desk. I always feel comfortable walking in there even if I am worried about my pet which is nice. They are prompt and happy to answer any questions or concerns. The vet techs and veterinarians are also really great. They are very understanding and sweet with the pets. I give Pet Vet on Patton 5 stars in part because they are very quick.

I always arrive a few minutes before my appointment and never wait more than a few minutes before being brought back for my pet to be checked out. They are very thorough during exams and always talk me through the process. I have two cats and with their health issues have had to come to the vet way too many times but I am always happy to go to Pet Vet on Patton. I will continue to bring my cats here as I've always been happy with how my visits turn out.

I have had a very spotty experience here and won't be returning. I have brought my adult dog here twice since moving to Asheville. The front of house staff is friendly and kind, and quickly and generously righted a mistake with my dog's medication, but I don't appreciate the veterinarians themselves. The first time, my dog had some strange symptoms and I was wondering if she was sick.

After a very quick assessment of the problem at hand, the vet gave me a talk about an anesthetic procedure for cleaning her teeth. I didn't think that was out of the ordinary, and it's very important for your dog's health, but she didn't properly explain to me those connections. I opted to do more research before committing, because it felt like a sales pitch.

During the visit, the vet said that her teeth were beyond the point of benefiting from any other type of dental care option. The second time, I brought my dog in for routine shots and a nail clipping. Admittedly, my dog is a skittish animal and she hates the vet. She especially hates getting her nails done, which is why I bring her to a professional.

Despite being brought up around dogs, weekly visits to the dog park, and six months of professional obedience training, what can I say, she's still kind of a jerk. Especially at the vet. Usually we keep her distracted with treats and we're in and out. Dr. Meyer, however, refused to let me distract my dog with food through shots and nail clippings.

He said that in doing so, I was rewarding her poor behavior (namely, her thrashing about as they cut her nails.) I am familiar with the concepts of positive and negative reinforcement and I understand the point. But I certainly think it was the wrong time to make that point. The appointment was this morning, my dog is swollen from the shots, and she is walking with a limp. Dr. Mayer also told me conflicting dental care information.

He actually said he would not recommend the anesthesia procedure and recommended a special diet instead. I thought I would write this up so other dog owners can take it into consideration! If your dog is happy go lucky, they'll probably be fine in this kind of setting. Overall though, I found the veterinarians curt. Dr. Meyer was particularly condescending.
