Pet Kare Clinic - Christina Komara

This is a fantastic clinic. We have a new puppy and her first check up was very detailed and helpful. The staff is friendly and the Vet is incredible. She shared many helpful tips for raising a lab.

Dr Sam has been caring for our old man Griffey with accupuncture and laser the last few months! We are so appreciative of her and the pet kare team!

The reason I'm doing three stars instead of five is due to two different experiences. I brought my first animal in as an emergency that turned out to be something simple. I left I was listened to and everything was explained, a wonderful experience. Minor hiccups in the treatment plan were ironed out with a simple conversation with the Dr. Second time, different animal same symptoms.

I explained to the same Dr. about those symptoms and it seemed like it landed on deaf ears. I felt as if I was on a rollercoaster of tests and prognosis. In the end it turned out to be the same symptoms, diagnosis and the same hiccups ironed out. I don't know why I was treated so differently from last time? I did contact PetKare about my concerns and it did seem like they wanted to do better. I still feel uneasy about bring my animals in. I hope next visit will be different.

We were visiting friends in Steamboat over the weekend. Our 5 year old boxer (who has ARVC - Boxer cardiomyopathy) started vomiting and became mildly lethargic. Her heart was racing. We met Dr. Hillemeyer at the clinic, who was on call, as it was Saturday after hours. She took great care of our girl and fixed her heart rate with medication. We thank her so much and for being so calm in a scary situation for us! Thanks again Dr. Hillemeyer!

Pet Kare is AMAZING, to say the least. My dog, Bear, had a rough time a few weeks ago and was very sick. I first had to call their emergency line and the veterinarian on call was so great and attentive. Then the next few days he was in and out of the vet and seen by Dr. Cindy. I was blown away by her compassion and how much she cared. She checked in every day to see how he was doing and always was very helpful and understanding. I'm so thankful for the staff at Pet Kare and how well they treated Bear and I during a scary time. Highly recommend.

We love Pet Kare so much! Every single employee & doctor is friendly and accommodating. I 100% trust them with my animals lives! Doctor Susan was so sweet when I needed to put my elderly cat down. Also LOVE DR Karen & Chris. Both of our dogs have gone there ever since we've had them, and I would trust no one else. I also must say they are always very clean, you can't say that for all veterinary clinics. THANK YOU PET KARE!

My little fur baby (10 wk old French bulldog) was having difficulty breathing, runny nose, cough and sneezing. He was lethargic and agitated with the congestion. The incredible staff took us right away, assisted us after hours (increased fee but absolutely worth it) and quickly assessed our puppy. Exceptional client service, very professional, and most importantly friendly with genuine care for the well being of the pup.

Highly recommend! They even called the next day to check in, and he is already completely different. His energy levels are high and no side effects from the antibiotics! Thank you!

Dr Karen and Beth were amazing and compassionate in our time of need for after hours care after our dog collapsed and was then given a terminal diagnosis. We are so thankful being in their hands as we said our goodbyes to our guy. It made his passing a very peaceful and bearable decision in the chaos. Great emergency clinic with caring staff we would strongly recommend.

They did an AMAZING facial surgery on our baby to save him. They were so wonderful, Dr Cindi (I think) has our gratitude for life

First time visit to this office and I doubt I could've left happier. The staff were all SUPER sweet and friendly. The vet let me ask her a million and one questions and had all the answers to each one. It's a haul to get there from where we live, but for all normal visits I will be refusing to go anywhere else. Very thorough and went above and beyond for my chonky bulldog. 10/10 would recommend this sweet clinic.

The staff here is great. I had a sick puppy on Saturday and they took him in without an appointment. The staff basically saved my puppy because they are awesome. Highly recommend this place for any pet care!

Pet Kare has been my Vet clinic for 14 years. The care your pet get is exceptional. From simple vaccinations to spay/neuter to C-Sections and evening caring for my dog w end stage heart disease. The support staff is also very good. I highly recommend Pet Kare.

We had to make emergency visits to this clinic as our dear sweet pup was bitten by a very large dog. Dr Karen was the best! I couldn't have asked for better in a time of devastation. Our pup was damaged beyond repair and unfortunately didn't make it. I love this Vet and highly recommend you bring you pet to see Dr Karen! The most compassionate staff ever and took the best care of my sweet girl Lucy! Thank you so very much for everything!

We've been taking our pets to Pet Kare Clinic longer than we can remember. Everyone at Pet Kare Clinic makes us and our pets feel as if we are their only clients. The loving care and the extraordinary veterinary expertise with which everyone at Pet Kare Clinic gives our pets makes me wish that they also took care of people too. Duchess, Charlie, BJ and Honey live extremely happy, energetic, healthy lives thanks to everyone at Pet Kare Clinic.

Loved these people. Got us in on very short notice while visiting from out of state. Very caring / compassionate and gentle with our dog. Highly recommended; wish Dr. Susan could be our regular vet!

I was up in Steamboat and needed my puppy to be seen. They were able to fit us in and did a great job, including sending us with all of the information we needed.

Pet Kare Clinic misdiagnosed 2 of my dogs. One of my dogs had what they thought was kennel cough, they were so confident that they just came out to the car, looked at her, and gave her antibiotics. Turns out she had pneumonia and she ended up dying because she was started on the wrong antibiotic. Our new vet couldn't believe the poor care our dog was given. Foolishly we took our other dog there because we noticed blood in her urine.

They gave her an ultrasound and said they didn't see any stones (turns out they aren't board certified to perform ultrasounds). After realizing she wasn't getting better we took her to another vet who saw the stones on an X-ray. Again the vet was astounded that they failed to see the stones on an ultrasound when they could clearly see several of them on an x-ray.

Their inability to read an ultrasound caused our dog to be in unnecessary pain. Had we not been proactive our dog would still be going untreated. Although the people are reasonably friendly, the vets they employ are not of quality. I would firmly warn against taking your pet there. They should consider closing as a safety measure to the community.

I google mapped them before looking at ratings on Yelp so I am glad I didn't see the poor ratings before going down there today. We have just moved to Steamboat Springs so hadn't gotten a veterinary recommendation yet.took a gamble because my arthritic dog needs a monthly injection. The girl who answered the phone (can't remember her name, sorry) was pleasant and got us in same day. Megan was our technician and she was great! Saw Dr. Chris Swarz who was very knowledgeable about medications and treatments for our dog's arthritis.

No attempts to sell me on anything, nothing shady, just needed to assess the dog before giving him an injection. Dr. Chris let me do the injection so that I can start giving them at home. I felt comfortable and they also - most importantly - treated my dogs very kindly.

After trying the vets in Boulder to see my Zeus, the pet kare clinic were the only ones to accept and help us! Now because of the amazing staff, Zeus is recovering from pneumonia and I have my buddy! Thank you!

Dr. Karen Nann was amazing! We were vacationing and our baby Banshee had a lump in her belly that was getting bigger fast. Dr. Karen met us on Sunday and was very helpful. We followed up again on Tuesday for a full recovery by Friday. The laser treatment really helped. The pricing was reasonable and the care was amazing. Her dog Cali is so cute. Thanks Dr. Karen!

I was traveling and stopped in steamboat, and had to take my dog to a vet, so I went to Pet Care Clinic and Cindi helped me with my dog right away, and the price was decent, I have to say I had a good experience and I would go back.

What an awful experience! This clinic has killed multiple dogs, if you want to keep your pet alive STAY AWAY. Read the reviews on the other "Pet Kare Clinic" yelp page to see specific accounts of the awful brutality of this place.

Our dog was hit by a snowboarder after business hours in Steamboat. He had a pretty big laceration and had cut an artery so he was bleeding A LOT. We called PetKare and the Doctor that answered was calm and quickly gave us directions to their clinic and symptoms of shock to watch for. She was there in 20 minutes. She was kind, helpful and treated our dog so well.

We were able to take him home that night and she finished stitching him up in about an hour. They even were able to give us a sample of pain meds to help keep our cost down. I was extremely happy with the care that we received. She even called the next day to check on my pup.

Compassion and caring is the best way to describe this clinic. We were visiting the area for the weekend when our old cat took a turn for the worst and sadly it was time to say goodbye. Our dearest friend Amy Tweety recommended the clinic she work at, so we drove into Steamboat and were greeted by such caring professionals from the front desk to Dr Susan Colfer D.V.M herself.

They were so sweet, giving us time to say goodbye and placing buzz in our makeshift coffin so she could be buried. They also presented us with Buzz's pawprint in a clay heart. These sweet touches showed us why the office was busy with so many pets getting the best service anyone in Steamboat could ever want or need.

I wish there would have been a review site like Yelp years ago so that I could warn people about going to Pet Kare Clinic. I took my best friend in for surgery several years ago. I dropped him off in the morning and that was the last time I saw him as the vet stopped his heart by overdosing him on anesthesia. Not only did she kill my best friend, when she called to tell me she flippantly said "I have some bad news" as if she killed dogs every day.

My doggie was my best friend. He was with me through five brutal years of my life and to have a "vet" take his life due to incompetence just devastated me. The hurt never goes away and the heartless vet made it worse by her actions. I wish I could give this place negative infinity stars as they don't deserve anything but the worst.

I am a veterinary technician that was up here visiting my parents. I am very particular about who sees my dog because I am in the industry. PKC was able to get my dog in same day on a Saturday. My dog was urinating blood and obviously I was very concerned. Dr Rance was able to see him right away and figured everything out very quickly and kept me informed the entire way.

I am very rarely on the other side as a client and this experience was amazing. I read some other reviews about the pricing and for the care a service that they provide their fees are extremely reasonable. My dog is doing well and on proper medication because of Dr. Rance and they entire Saturday team at PKC. Thank you from Frankie

I am eternally grateful to this practice for saving my dog's life! She had gone into acute kidney failure and her organs were shutting down. They worked around the clock to heal her! Dr, Susan, Dr, Rance and the wonderful techs Dianna, Grace and Anna saved her life this weekend. Prior to this the other Docs there have been wonderful to our family too.

They are compassionate. Dr. Paige and Dr Cindy and Dr, Michelle are also awesome. They provide superior pet care! They have taken care of all of our pets and they really really care. Each vet gets to know our animals so if I need to bring them in any one of the staff can work with them. The Front Desk staff is also awesome! They are friendly and extremely knowledgable! Animals get sick and I trust these people to help me! They went beyond this summer to help us with our elderly animals but now they also have saved our younger dog!

My wife and I were in town for the weekend and had a sick animal. She was puking and we had concerns of dehydration. Dr. Rance gave my dog a couple of things and 3 hours later our dog is dead. If you love your pet you would be better off with a witch doctor than this place. We are in so much pain please don't end up like us. They don't deserve the one star, but let this serve as a warning. Rest in peace Morgan, Mommy an Daddy love you.
