While there are intestinal parasites that can be seen within your pet's stool (for example, roundworms and tapeworms) , there are also protozoa that may infect your pet that you may never see such as Giardia and Coccidia. Many of these parasites can be a problem for humans too, for this reason we offer routine fecal exams to look for all possible intestinal parasites and make sure we are treating your pet appropriately and keeping your family safe.
Blood tests are a window into your pet's life. They offer important information concerning kidney, liver, and other organ functions, along with some disease process such as diabetes. Animals age much faster than humans, so one year to us can be 5-7 years to a pet, for this reason changes in health may appear much more rapidly. Performing blood tests will let us know what kind of changes may have occurred and if we should be treating for any health problems.
In addition to diagnostic blood tests, Palm Beach Animal Hospital also provides DNA blood tests. The ability to run DNA and other genetic tests has only recently become a common procedure in the vet office. DNA tests can give you a unique view into your dog's pedigree. The Wisdom Panel offered by Palm Beach Animal Hospital compares your dog's DNA to over 170 breeds, offering you with one of the most accurate reports available. This information can be useful to both owner and doctor as it can provide insights into behavior and potential health concerns.
Keeping your pet up to date on their vaccinations is one of the best methods to ensure lifelong health. Your dog or cat is better protected from many common contagious diseases when they are vaccinated. You and your doctor will determine which vaccinations are needed for your pet's lifestyle.
Canine vaccines include: Distemper/Parvo, Leptospirosis, Bordetella, and Rabies.
Feline vaccines include: Feline FVRCP, Feline Leukemia and Rabies.

I absolutely love this vets! Dr Miller has been with me through having to say goodbye to two of our lifelong dog friends. She has always been friendly, professional and sensitive. You can tell she is a true animal lover. The support staff are also the same. It is a great experience to go there, even if your furry friend is sick. I would highly recommend them.
Dr. Miller and her team take excellent care of all their patients, plus they explain all your options clearly so you can make the best decision for your family. Additionally, she is very generous with her time in helping animals at Palm Beach Animal Care & Control. A very generous, knowledgeable and caring soul!
There is really no other word to use when speaking about PBAH, its' doctors, and staff.....AMAZING. Dr. Miller and all the vet techs, as well as their new vet on staff - Dr. McLaughlin are the best there is. I've been going there for at least 4 yrs now and I won't go anywhere else. You are made to feel like family. They treat your pet as if it is one of their own. They don't upsell like most vets do - which is another plus. They take the time to talk with you and explain and answer any of your questions! Go.....you won't be disappointed!
Dr Amanda Miller and the staff are amazing! Their attention to detail and getting done whatever your pet needs to feel better is neverending. I would never take my jrt's anywhere else. They really go the extra mile. And Dr. Miller is tireless in her animal advocacy and rescue endeavours.
Dr Miller and all of the vet techs at PBAH go above and beyond to treat their patients. I rescue seniors from the local shelter and they come to me with a plethora of ailments. Every single dog I've ever brought in has been greeted with a smile and treated as part of the family. Dr Miller has saved the life of quite a few of my dogs that other vets gave no hope to, the entire place is amazing!
The staff is so wonderful and kind, and Dr. Miller really takes the time to go the extra mile. Muffy the Shih Tzu loves the whole team!
