Nugget was a three-year-old Golden Retriever who came in suffering from digestive issues for four days. Diagnostic Test Results: Abdominal radiographs confirmed the presence of a bottle cap within the stomach. Treatment: Using a videoendoscope our internal medicine specialist was able to visualize the bottle cap and a black garbage bag in Nugget's stomach.

It seems like people either love these guys or hate them---pretty common when dealing with a sick loved one. My dog needed surgery for a luxated patella (sliding kneecap), & I was pleased with the surgery & the surgeon. There was a complication (another injury discovered, not due to doctor error) & she called me during the surgery, explained clearly the problem & my choices. It was the aftercare that I was not very pleased with; altho followup visits & 1 physical therapy session are included, I did not like that the surgeon didn't see my dog for 2 months after the surgery. By that time he had managed to injure the leg in another way & had inflammation. The surgeon suggested a P.T. appointment with ultrasound therapy, but I had disliked the physical therapist; to their credit, they hustled up the vet who does P.T. to perform the procedure, assuring me that the $350 would be really helpful. I couldn't see any change until I got his prescription filled, waste of money. In the end a surgery that was quoted at $4K came to about twice that, not entirely their fault, but for that kind of money, I expect a little better follow-up. P.S. No one has ever called to see how my dog is doing. Bottom line, I think their surgery is top notch, but I'd insist on a visit 1-2 weeks after surgery, & I would find someone else to to any needed physical therapy.

Dr. Sarah Maxwell may be an excellent doctor, but she has a horrible bedside manner. For the little time we were with her I believe she has a mental health condition possibly OCD or just phobias. She stopped us at the exam room door and made us put on masks, and then sit in the chairs under the window and didn’t want us to move from those chairs so right then we knew she was German phobic or had a great fear of Covid because the Covid mandates have been over with for quite some time and nobody else in the waiting room or at the desk we’re wearing masks she only required the owners of her patients to wear masks. She then made no attempt to introduce ourselves herself to our puppy, shut off the lights, and just started the exam by signing a light into his eye, and our puppy is afraid of the dark. So Natalie, he barked and told her hey I’m afraid of the dark. She flipped out ran to the corner, put her back against the corner, grab the lamp and put it in front of her drug table over there. The woman was nuts. When she calm down and stop shaking, she told us she couldn’t treat our puppy. She couldn’t even finish the examination because he was “aggressive“. We were sent to her because she’s a specialist. She made no attempt to introduce herself to the dog, and we told her she was afraid of the dark, but she didn’t give a crap. The dog growled the dog didn’t bark and anger he barked to tell her he was scared, and he didn’t know her. He ran right over to us, he wouldn’t even go near her while she paraded us about our “aggressive“ dog, all of nine months old, and proceeded to tell us how much she needed to go to training while she was acting like a lunatic hiding behind a floor lamp. She charges $110 to terrorize our puppy. I suppose, forcing us all to put on masks, didn’t do the puppy any good either, but he wasn’t afraid of us. He seen other vets properly introduced themselves to him who’s the Q-tip swabs in his eye, and all around us under his eyelids, and he never even whimpered, she was a stranger who just walked up to him and started to do things he didn’t like. All she had to do was introduced herself to the dog but apparently she’s been at this such a long time she thinks she knows better than the experts. I would’ve let it all go because it was clear there was something wrong with her when we first met and she didn’t want us to get out of our chairs and jeans that we were masks, etc. but the fact that she charges $110 to do nothing she deserves to be exposed.

The staff and doctors are kind, caring and very professional. Our appointment today was with Dr. Daly who helped us with a tremendous amount of information, options, and details regarding our lab's condition in a warm caring manner with professional enthusiasm and a touch of humor😊. We highly recommend OVRA!

Dr. Daly saved my dogs life. She had a strange abdominal mass, she’s 12 and I was very worried about her going through the procedure. She did amazing and they kept me up to date on her progress throughout the day of the procedure. Dr. Daly called me several times throughout the experience and reassured me by answering all of my questions and making me feel comfortable with the whole thing having never met him in person due to Covid. She’ll be 13 this fall and I have him and the team at OVRA to thank for the good time I have left with her.

I HIGHLY recommend OVRA. They are outstanding. One visit and they differed out the problem. After many hours and several other vet visits elsewhere we were ready for an answer and they gave it. AMAZING.

We have had to take our dog here twice over the course of his life for different surgeries. Both times were positive experiences for us. The specialist Dr. Daly was very thorough, patient and kind.

Awful vet! Awful communication! Awful outcome! My sweet boy passed away. I'd recommend EVERYONE get a second opinion before thinking these incompetent people have the answers!

I took my little boy in. The office looks like someone's old home from the outside, but is neat and clean and professional inside. We saw Dr Belle Nibblett, Dvm the internal medicine specialist who seemed very thorough and knowledgeable. Wait time was about 45 mins or so but that not uncommon. They don't seem as busy as my usual vet and I was quite impressed by her clear communication and giving me options. The prescription was sent immediately and the note was ready before we were done! Very efficient. Thank you for providing us such good care close to home. Anna

Dr. Sarah Maxwell, veterinary ophthalmologist, and technician Elise, gave my dog wonderful care yesterday when they removed a growth on the dog’s eyelid. I’m grateful for their concern and thoroughness and want to tank them both very much. I would highly recommend them!

My little Emily just had surgery on a very large malignant tumor yesterday. Even though I didn’t get to meet Doctor Daly in person, over the phone he was so thorough and made sure we were both on the same page! Thank you to you and your team!

Generally the place you need to go when things get serious with you pet. We've had to get specialized treatment for 2 dogs now & while it's not easy, they are kind, empathetic, & most importantly, they take the time to explain things to you.

Is it pricey? Yup! But it is completely worth it. They were able to save my dog. They are very smart and up front about pricing, no suprises. I hope I don't ever need to use them again, but confident that if I do our dog will the get the best possible care.

Brought my sweet girl back after a procedure 3 or 4 times just to be seen by the vet tech and be poked and prodded. After the initial procedure, she was never treated again for any of her symptoms. The vet tech, Summer, is very cold and lacks compassion, but she isn't the only one that seems indifferent. I hated bringing my baby here, but felt like I had to. I wish I hadn't ever brought her back and saved her stress over the last few weeks of her precious life.

I was quoted anywhere from 3400-4300. He had a surgery in his mouth for a growth that inhibited him of eating and drinking. The surgery was required in order to give him a quality of life. Originally they told me that I didn't have to pay until after the surgery. When I got there they wanted money up front. I paid 3000 up front. When I went to try to get my dog I found out the total bill came to 4290.

The doctor told me that the surgery wasn't as extensive as you originally thought so I thought it should therefore be closer to the amount of the quote. I cried because I was spending my rent and electricity money on this visit. I explain that to them and so they gave me a 5% discount. How generous right? They lack integrity and compassion. I requested very specifically that my dog is not prescribed Tramadol because it gives them temperamental issues. When he got out of the hospital they gave me a bottle of Tramadol. Also gave him a dose this morning. I am very disappointed in the service and experience.

I have only been here once but I feel like they do need to listen to the pets Owners! I have now taken my little dog to Veneta vet 6 times and OVRA once in the last 9 days! Spent close to $1,500 & still no one has fixed my little baby she has something in her throat, esophagus and keeps coughing and acting like she is choking. So far we have had xrays, blood work, heart pills and many test. All I want is them to look down her throat. Its MY MONEY so if I want to buy an endoscopy for my dog then why the hell not do it

The office staff are great and they got me in sooner. The oncologist was horrible. She spent only about 3 minutes with me and my dog and answered about 3 questions, if that. A vet tech answers your questions. The vet tech was very condescending. It was rush rush. My dog was prescribed a med that increased the rate of the cancer. I was told I had one week to decide about Chemo but I was not given enough information to make an informed decision.

The vet said that chemo would not make my dog sick. The chemo drug recommended makes dogs very very sick. The increase in my dog's life would make him suffer with very little increase of his life. My dog is 11 and a half and he has cancer and a number of other compromises of his body. Their recommendation was cruel and inhumane. They just want to make a profit from the chemo. They give you an estimate right off the bat. Stay way from this clinic if you care about your pet.
