When everywhere else wouldn't take a patient, OVRS was ready to go. They were quick, and took him back almost immediately. Everyone from the front desk and back was kind, and compassionate. I even got pictures of him while he stayed a few nights. Dr. Greene and the Doctor that helped us when we got there were thorough, and kind as well. They were quick to help with my (many) calls to get updates to check on him. Yes, it's a little pricey, but for an emergency vet, and the well trained, kind and compassionate staff it is well worth it, and the drive. If I ever have an emergency again we will be coming back. He is home, and loved all the attention. Thank you to everyone who took care of Scotty!

Editing in reply to the owners comment: I was told over the phone that we could be seen, but I understand that emergencies are unexpected. But the idea that you couldn't bandage the leg because he was "hissing" is an outright lie. No one even tried, no one even looked. I also understand that the actual vet would have been needed for the surgery, but it's not unusual for the assistant (vet tech might be the term I'm looking for? ) to do basic triage to ensure the animal will at least be stable until the vet is able to take a closer look.

When we arrived, it was 45 minutes before anyone came out to us. He was sitting quietly in his Carrier and we were told no one was authorized to do anything for him except the vet. We were told we could wait 7 hours, with our cat in the carrier in the waiting room until the vet was available, and only then would any kind of inspection be done. He could have bleed out in your waiting room and you wouldn't have even known until 7 in the morning because you couldn't even take him in the back to be regularly monitored.

Original Review: What kind of emergency vet has a single doctor, two receptionist, and at least a dozen other people (presumably vet techs) at midnight and with all those people no one will do anything except the actual vet themselves. Only the vet will do preliminary exam, triage, or even a simple bandage. I drove over an hour, cat has a broken leg, bone sticking out of the skin, they won't touch it and tell me to come back in 7 hours! None of the many many employees are allowed to even touch the injured leg supposedly except the vet who was going into surgery.

I wanted to say thank you very much to your wonderful caring staff and Dr. Greene for her honesty, gentleness and helping us on making the decision about Astro (our 13, yo Yorkie) Your kind words did more than you will ever know in aiding us in such a difficult time. We all thank you and have nothing but praise for all of you. Stephanie also thank you for setting up his appt. so quickly.

Despite having a few emergency vets a little closer to me, if given the option I'd prefer to bring my pets here. They were super helpful over the phone (Thank you Kris!), easing my anxiety and walking me through some steps I could take to try and help my dog at home before making the hour drive to them. When I did get there the staff were all super kind and excellent to my Ruby, which definitely helped her usual apprehension at the vet.

The wait was short and they were quick to let me know Ruby was gonna be just fine. Though there thankfully wasn't an emergency in my case, the reassurance and the kindness of the staff made the further drive absolutely worth it.

We needed dermatology/allergy services for our young puppy. This location was one in the area recommended by our vet. From the initial inquiry phone call to schedule service to the check-out after the appointment, everyone was courteous & professional. We had the good fortune to get an earlier appointment due to an opening. We appreciate that despite their high-demand schedule they were able to do so.

We didn't feel rushed, no one oversold us on anything. We had clear instructions provided for us to take home after they were covered in detail and we were allowed & encouraged to ask questions. For a specialist the fees are very reasonable, we feel, especially coming back from another state. Dr. Mattise and her staff are knowledgeable & easy to work with, along with excellent bedside manner for the patient as well as the owners.

My 10 month old boxer had abdominal surgery with Dr Bula to remove retained testicles. This is my first experience at OVRS and I was very impressed! I was extremely anxious about anesthesia because of a terrible experience with a past boxer at a different hospital and this team eased my fears, kept me informed, and kept my boxer safe throughout the entire procedure.

Everything went as planned and I felt like each person I spoke with truly took time to know my dog and knew exactly what I needed to hear. Dr Bula is knowledgeable, kind, compassionate and obviously very skilled at what she does. I am shocked at how well he has healed in such a short amount of time! Everyone was just wonderful. I will not hesitate to return here if we need specialty care or emergency care in the future. The cost is not cheap, but I felt every charge was justified and appropriate for the level of care and expertise.

I am beyond thankful to have brought my 12 year old furbaby/daughter Princess here. Words cannot describe how amazing this ER is. I have never had such an incredible experience. Every staff member goes above and beyond to treat your baby like it is there own and took such amazing care of her. They saved my Princess's life when I thought it was my last day with her and so grateful for them and to be able to see another day with her.

They are so knowledgeable and know what they are doing. I couldn't recommend them enough a million times. I appreciate each and everyone of you on the team. Forever thankful. Thank you for all that you and your staff do. You are all so sweet. Couldn't have asked for a better team. Love, Bianca and Princess

We miss our precious girl every day. Lola was our love. She was truly a member of our family and she brought us so much joy! Thank you for being there, for listening; when no one else would. Our family appreciates what you do more than you know. We know your jobs are tremendously challenging and exhausting and we thank you for your dedication and professionalism. Your work does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. God bless all of you.

Everyone at this office goes above and beyond expectations. Our puppy, Doug, unfortunately developed an abscess that needed surgery back in August. This went well, until it unfortunately reoccurred 2 months later. Dr. Retallack and her team were quick at getting him back in and taken care of. Throughout the entire process, everything was communicated so thoroughly.

She is an amazing veterinarian and I would highly recommend her to anyone. Her team, specifically Dawn and Chelsea who I had spoken to a few times were always so kind and patient. Jim was exceptional as well. The front desk always welcomes everyone with a smile. You can truly tell that everyone at OVRS loves the job that they do, and all the animals.

I brought my dog, Abby, here on what I could only guess was a busy Friday afternoon. She had been bitten by a bug and was having an allergic reaction (hives, swelling, red eyes) and was absolutely terrified. We busted into this place and I had tears in my eyes carrying my dog who was trying to escape at all costs (hates the vet) and every single individual made the experience so smooth and took such great care of Abby.

They might have even changed her mind about vets. I must also shout out that they also didn't make me feel absolutely nuts when I must have appeared to be frenzied at the least. Thank you to the entire team for taking care of us today. Abby may have been terrified but she is hives and swelling free now!
