Mountain Shadows Pet Hospital - Stephen Durrance Here you'll find information on the Staff, Doctors, Facilities, and a host of information about pet health in our area. Please feel free to contact us if you need more information. We are here to help! Our philosophy at Mountain Shadows Pet Hospital is to help owners make educated choices about their pet's health care, and provide that care in a competent, loving fashion. We schedule 30 minute appointments so you do not have to wait, and always have fresh coffee in the reception area.
Services
Mountain Shadows Pet Hospital was opened in the summer of 1995 in a new building designed with your comfort and that of your pet in mind. Modern construction and materials have led to a clean, odor free, and comfortable environment for your pets. This is especially convenient if you notice a problem in the morning just before you leave for the day.
At Mountain Shadows Pet Hospital we are proud to provide a complete spectrum of services required to keep any pet happy and healthy. For your convenience we have several beepers to loan to our clients that are dropping pets off for care during the day. Feel free to ask for one of these if you will not be easily contacted, so we can keep you updated on your pet's condition. Because we realize when a pet is hospitalized for any reason or a pet, it can be a very stressful experience for you (and for a family).
The altitude of 6500 feet above sea level can be a problem for some animals, but is usually a lot more of a problem for the owners. Adaptation to the lower oxygen levels normally takes place in a few weeks. Gradual introduction of exercise over a 8 week period will suffice for most pets. An existing cardiac condition will sometimes require an adjustment in medication when moving to the area. Our local weather can be very cold in the winter, and we usually have 2 to 3 weeks of bitterly cold weather in December and January.
Our Senior Health Care Program at Mountain Shadows Pet Hospital is designed to be a comprehensive and lifelong program focusing on prevention, early detection and quality treatment of illness and disease in our older pets. In general, any pet over the age of 6 years is considered to be in their senior years and would be an excellent candidate for our Senior Health Care Program.

Our last vet office was a nightmare, so I was a bit nervous. But we have always been well taken care of! All of our pets get vet care here.

This is the best vet office you will find! They always treat our dog well! Their prices are reasonable too, you can tell they actually care about every pet they see.

First time appointment for a Rabies, full exam, and heartworm testing for my newly shelter adopted Australian Cattle Dog. She was in a shelter for 2 years in Texas and really has Vet avoidance issues with my previous Vet Clinic. I decided to try a new Clinic. This was an amazing experience as Dr. Donna Wilson and Vet Technician Alex were able to complete the procedures with care, professionalism, and ease. 5 Thumbs up for their Exceptional Customer care for my Cattle Dog. These folks at Mountain Shadows walk on water and eat fire in my book on exceptional Veterinary care.

The staff and doctors at mountain shadows have been great with my girl. She has had a few recent health issues but everyone there make her comfortable and not stressed. I've had bad vets and I can say that these folks are amazing. I have no doubt about their capability and trust their decisions. After all, my dog is my family and I want the best care for her the same way I would want the best for my human family. Would I return and would I recommend? Yes and absolutely yes!

This place is a gem. Truly a great pet hospital. Everytime I get quoted a price the bill comes in cheaper. My dogs have been through several vets in Colorado Springs and we've had to leave due to poor care, lies, and overcharging. Not here, great care, great people, fantastic pricing. I love this vet!

We have seen both Dr Durrance and Dr Wilson for our dog and we couldn't be happier. Not only have they always come in under what they quoted (much better than the other way around) but the service has been fantastic every time. The receptionist remembered us and even took time to ask us about our lives. Our vet called several times throughout the next week to check on our dog after he was neutered. We have tried several other vets and these guys are by far the best.

Every time I bring my pets (2 cats and a dog) hete I am always shocked at the price! It's always low and reasonable. The staff is so friendly and I never have a long wait. Ive made appointments for the same day and they always fit me right in. The level of care for my animals is always above expectations! Keep it up guys! Youre doing it right!
