I couldn't even get in the door. I called to make an appt for a sick ferret. Receptionist was very kind and gave me one for the next day. I realized after we had hung up that two of my ferrets were having respiratory issues and i called back to bring them both in. The receptionist unfortunately only had enough time for one ferret- which was fine. I said i will make another appt another day for the other ferret and let's keeps the first ferrets appt.

She then scolded me and told me what I CAN and CANNOT do with MY ferrets medication wise. "Just because one ferret is sick and gets medications, doesn't mean you are to give the other ferret the same thing!". I'm an emergency veterinarian technician and I KNOW what I should and should not do. Now- while I understand she does not know my career choice, she should not be scolding clients on what they can and cannot do with their own animals. I quickly canceled my appt. Based off of her rudeness, I will take my business else where.

First time visits this week at Monroe Animal Hospital. the office is great, from the minute you walk in you feel welcome. You can tell that everyone there loves working with animals, the vet techs are amazing, especially Mary! It was such a pleasure meeting Dr. Hornstein, he was wonderful with my pups, and he listens to your concerns and explains everything to you. So happy. They took an emergency visit with me girl Harley right away, you can tell they care. Great place to go!

It was our first time using this practice and I found Dr Hornstein to be extremely thorough in his examination of my dog. In addition to treating my pet's health issue, he also gave us information that was extremely relevant about preventative treatments and vaccinations that had not been shared by our former practice. I'm glad that we made the switch and would definitely recommend this veterinary practice.

I am so happy with this veterinary practice. Dr. Hornstein, Michelle, and the rest of the staff are so wonderful. I have an extremely fearful dog, who has been more fearful than usual due to a recent traumatic experience, and the entire staff was so kind to her. Anybody with a fearful animal will know the stress and anxiety of taking them to the vet. The staff here make that stress completely unwarranted. You can tell they truly care about animals.

Never go to this place they don't know what they are doing! I took my 8 year old dog in that was clearly not doing well. So I requested that they don't give her the rabies shot untill she gets better! But no did they listen nope just went ahead and gave it to her without even asking us which is against the law! Especially when there's an immune compromised dog and after I requested that she not get vaccinated.

They told us the dog was just old the next day the dog started acting all strange then all of a sudden went downhill and she die the next week this dog should've been alive for at least three more years easy. So I would not recommend this place

I have actually been using this vet clinic for years so I really wish I didn't have to write this review, but it's the only way I know to warn others. I have a senior dog who has never had any issues, but when I took her for her yearly around Memorial Day, Dr. Nix said she had an ear infection and he was putting BCP ointment in her ears and it needed to sit for 2 weeks.

I was not warned of any potential side effects. She also had vaccines due on this visit so when she got home and was lethargic, I though it was due to the shots. Then I realized she couldn't hear. I called everywhere I could think of and was told this was normal for this ointment. A heads up would have been nice. Of course it was a holiday weekend so I couldn't take her back until the following Tuesday to get it flushed out of her ears, but the damage was already done.

They gave me take-home drops to administer instead which I don't understand why they didn't give these to me first. I took her back for follow-ups numerous times and they kept charging me ridiculous fees even when I was only taking her because of what they did to her ears. They tried to tell me the hearing loss was age-related! No. She could hear PERFECTLY until they destroyed her hearing.

So here we are several months and hundreds of dollars later and she still can't hear. Please let this be a warning! There are better vet clinics out there who actually care about animals and not more about making money. This has completely changed her personality and affected our lives and routines and my dog did not deserve this! Shame on you!

Dr. Hornstein and his staff are great. Taken in at my appointment time, puppy was greeted by staff and played with. Office visit was quick and thorough. Highly recommend Monroe Animal Hospital.

Caring, professional staff. Easy to communicate with. Dr. Hornstein is not only excellent at determining and then doing what our dog needs when she requires medical attention, but explains in detail what the problem is and why the care or or medication is needed to treat her. He also has a great rapport with our dog and all the animals brought in for treatment.

Way overpriced. They charged $98 for rabies shot, each cat, without telling me first what they charge. I had two cats given rabies shots and was charged over $300 for the visit and the privilege. The doctor and the associates are very sociable and concerned about your pets, but I just can't afford their prices. They do wonderful work and have very new ideas, but the brand new ideas come with a price. Love the people just can't afford them. If money is not your concern, they're the best place to go.

After adopting our first family dog in 2019, we endured a terrible experience with a franchise veterinary practice for the first year of his life. I am grateful to Dr. Hornstein for his expertise and honesty in advising me that my dog did not need the expensive tests that the franchise veterinarian requested. Dr. Hornstein helped to clear up the confusion and diagnose the problem without superfluous tests.

More importantly, Dr. Hornstein is effectively treating my dog's lingering itch. He is healthy again without having been subjected to all kinds of expensive and useless medicines that the franchise pushed.

This office was the utmost of professionalism. They cared for my older dog whom they just met for the first time this week. Dr. Hornstein explained what he was going to do and kept my dog calm. He followed up with test results (the results were quick!) and explained everything to me as we discussed the future of my pet (who is doing very well!) I was able to book an appointment very quickly which made me quite happy!

As for prices, I read some posts and compared what I was paying and Monroe Animal Hospital is in line with what I was paying. Even the bill was detailed! I highly recommend this vet
