Mission Valley Pet Clinic

My previous vet seemed to be devoting too much energy to upselling (my partner's sister left for the same reason), so I used relocation and a new kitty as a convenient excuse to start coming to MVPC in 2011. I have always been happy at this clinic. After I made the switch, I saw that the prices were comparable to those at my old clinic, except that I never felt as if I was being shorted on care or steered toward unnecessary tests or procedures.

The staff has always been great, and Dr. Green and Dr. Klinger are tops. I think the case of the pandemic shutdown best illustrates the high level of care and caring provided by this clinic. My older cat has chronic issues, and I often didn't know he needed help until the day that he needed it. MVPC was always fully booked during this period.

But time after time, the fine people here allowed me to drop off my cat in the morning, teach on Zoom all day, and then pick up my kitty right before closing or even right after closing. They just wedged him in somehow. The staff had to deal with masks, social distancing, hordes of pet owners in parked cars during summer, and a few ungrateful customers.

Everyone I had contact with was kind and respectful, my kitty got the help he needed, and I was spared having to take him to unfamiliar and expensive emergency hospitals. Thanks to MVPC, he is now about sixteen years old and doing fine--and my younger cat is doing great, too.

Very professional and down-to-earth at the same time. This is my second cat I've taken there and I like the vet for her practical advice. The staff is very friendly as well. Cut my present cat's nails without a problem!

I took my dog Chance here and have had an amazing experience. Immediately he was showered with love from every member of the staff. They asked me everything about his history, including little stories to learn more about him, which makes me feel like they are very invested in him as a patient. They also include a photo of him in his paperwork. They've followed up after every visit to check in, including when I needed to find an urgent care after hours for an emergency visit for him.

They called first thing in the morning to ask about him and to find out where I took him so that they could get his information. I feel like they will do everything they can to make sure he is going to receive the best care he can get.

Simply the best Vet I've ever been too. On time, on point and they really make the effort to my boys (who are skittish) comfortable. Endless treats and love!

I had called several places to see about getting a rabies vacine for my dog. Many places wanted to change for an exam before they would give the vacine at an additional charge. I called Mission Valley Pet clinic and they got us in right away and were very friendly. They called the next day also to see how my dog was doing. I really liked this place!

I cannot say enough good things about this Clinic, I started taking our dogs because of the convenient location and reviews. I have never found such unrelenting care for my pets that they have in a vet's office before (and I haven't had a bad one yet). From vaccines to antibiotics to post-op recovery they have always called the day after to ask about how they were doing. I can not recommend or say enough good things about Mission Valley Pet Clinic!

I just moved (back) to San Diego with my cat and went to another vet to establish care about 2 months ago and that was the most awful experience, I was hesitant about our next vet appt (which was at Mission Valley Pet Clinic) however, the staff there and Dr. Herrera were absolutely wonderful. They seemed to know exactly what they were talking about and did not hurt my cat like the other vet clinic did. They let me ask my hundreds of questions haha and did not rush me at all. I am really looking forward to having Dr. Herrera as our vet.

Just brought my pups here for first appointment. Staff was great! All friendly and really care about the pets they see, did not rush things and took their time with each of my dogs. And my dogs responded really well to them. Glad I found this place!

This review is for Dr. Herrera on her first day yesterday. She took amazing care of my dog Machi, even though it was last minute and at the end of the day! She Referred me to an emergency clinic and gave me all the resources I needed. Happy she is apart of the Mission Valley team! Big thanks to all the vet techs and receptionists that do so much of the heavy lifting.

MVPC always provides excellent service for my dog. Short or no wait times at the appointment, vets/staff listen to your (sometimes absurd) concerns about your pet and address everything, they work to get you in earlier if someone cancels an appointment, and always call the next day to check on how your pet is doing. I feel lucky to visit a vet clinic where my dog gets excited when he realizes where we are.

We recently brought in our kitty Dmitri for a first-time appointment at Mission Valley Pet Clinic and had an absolutely PHENOMENAL experience! Our cat does NOT like new places/people, but the staff was able to work some kind of unknown animal magic on him and he left the appointment in what I can only describe as a state of kitty bliss. Everyone from the receptionists to the techs to the veterinarian were top-notch and treated all the animals and their owners that came in like family, myself and Dmitri included.

I don't know much about how their prices compare to other veterinary clinics in the area (first vet experience since moving to San Diego), but for a first-time appointment to establish care plus a blood draw, full grooming/nail trimming, and a vaccine booster, what we paid was VERY reasonable. So happy we established care with Mission Valley Pet Clinic, we will 100% be coming back for all future vet needs!

We got a new puppy and she had worms. We had moved out of the area so I called new Vets around us. No one could see our puppy so I called Mission Valley Pet Clinic because we used to take our other dogs there years ago. They got us right in and took care of everything! Our new little puppy is happy and healthy now. Thanks to Dr. Klinger

Love Mission Valley Pet. Its like leaving your pet with your favorite sister who loves them as much as you do and understands that they're your fur child.

Our cat was not peeing in her box, which was bad news for our wood floors and oriental carpets, as well as our bare feet. We called MVPC in the afternoon and got an appointment for the next morning. We showed up a bit early, and there were no people or pets sitting around in the waiting room, and we were escorted to an exam room almost right away. Dr Braunstein and her team were wonderful!

They did everything right in the exam room in front of us, which really helped our cat remain very calm. I'm not a fan of taking the cat "in the back" where they're terrified, and you just hear them scream. Not a peep from our kitty, despite some invasive tests. Such a better way to treat cats! Very happy with the care provided by Mission Valley Pet Clinic. The clinic staff are easy to deal with and very professional. Dr. Klinger is thorough and very caring. They provided good advice for the further care of our animals. Would highly recommend their services!

We have been taking our fur-babies to this veterinary clinic for at least 15 years. We love the vets and the care our pets receive. I highly recommend their caring services.

I was recommended to MVPC a little over three years ago and I was not disappointed. My cat, Ali, has never been comfortable around vets and trusts very few people, yet she's significantly more calm with this staff. Then a year ago, a puppy came into our lives. Once again the staff proved how much they love and care because even after two rounds of shots and his neuter, he still enjoys walking through those front doors.

Both my pets specifically adore their vet techs Melissa and Sophie and their doctors (Dr. Green and Dr. Harvazinski). Thank you Mission Vally Pet Clinic, for being so amazing! We won't go anywhere else in San Diego!

The veterinarians, techs and office staff are all very professional and helpful. I have used Mission Valley Pet Clinic for three cats and two dogs over a span of 20 years. I have always had the very best care and professional responsiveness.

I want to preface this by saying that I have the same conversations about cost when I go to the doctor myself. I've boarded here before and do my dog's vet care here as well. What I like most about this Clinic is I can't afford to spend what it costs for some conditions in one visit. They are very patient with bringing multiple quotes to fit my financial situation and everyone has been very nice and patient. It takes longer and multiple visits which can be costly, but that is the reality with any medical care. I would recommend giving them a chance.

If you have an emergency press 1 Me: Presses 1 Oh we are really busy even if you were a regular customer, we don't have appointments for like a month and half. For new clients it's even longer Me: Well, I have looked online and they say my cat could have infection and to see a vet within 48 hours Yeah I don't even know if you will get in to the emergency pet hospitals they are even turning people away. Me: Starts to cry, my 2 year old is in pain, and you are telling me no one can help me.

You can try this walk in place but they don't even answer the phone Me: Well thanks for not helping me. Ok bye Now, I sit here crying, not sure what to do for my sick pet, as the person on the other end of the phone seemed joyous that they were so busy and I not going to be able to help my cat feel better. Maybe your automated system should say if you don't currently have a file with us on record, hang up, no matter what we will not help you.

They are excellent. Very compassionate and caring. They may be a good value, but that is not something I look for in a vet. I highly recommend Mission Valley Pet Clinic.

I love the doctors, nurses, assistants and the front desk team. They do care about your pet's health. My cat is difficult to handle but they have the patience and experience to keep her safe and happy. Thank you.

I have been visiting this sweet local vet clinic since 2011 with my pet cat. I have great experience the front desk staff, technicians, Dr. Green and Dr. Klinger. My cat can be challenging, she does hiss and sends a lot of warning to leave her alone. Other worlds she needs patience from the doctor, and luckily we got it from both of them. I highly recommend both Dr Klinger and Dr Green, you can trust both if you looking for amazing care for your furry family members.

I have to say that the prescription has been filled and staff even sent refills. Very grateful for getting this resolved.

This review is way overdue, I've been taking my boxer here for years. Doctor Klinger and staff including Melissa have shown an overwhelming amount of care and compassion for my special guy. In fact every time I drop him off he is always excited to go back and see everyone. Example: I cut his nails and give him baths and he runs away from me every time. they cut his nails, give him shots/ surgery/ meds and he can't wait to go back.lol Thank you for being a place that I can trust to give my furbaby the best care.

We had to take our 16 year old cat in to be euthanized. The vet and aides were wonderfully compassionate and gentle with our cat and with us. I can't say enough about how much they helped us get through this difficult experience. They are wonderful, caring people.

What we most care about it's the relationship the staff has with your little one. We care how they treat them, and gives them comfort. Going to the Vet it's not easy! But they make it a positive experience for you and your little one. Highly recommend

I love this clinic! I was recommended by a friend who happens to works there (shoutout Sophie) after having a horrible experience at another vet. Thankfully I was not disappointed here! They took such good care of my baby boy! Although I wasn't able to go inside to make sure he was ok (because of covid; their regulations have you call when you arrive where a vet tech comes to take your pet for the appointment, so unfortunately you are not allowed inside) I have no doubt in my mind that he was receiving great, loving care from the employees!

I have been back a few times since his first appointment for various checkups, shots, etc., and they have always called back a few days after the appointment to check up on how my boy is feeling. They really care about their patients and are a very affordable clinic that offer many resources and take different pet insurances. Grateful I was recommended here! We now have our regular vet clinic!

UPDATE: The team and DRs here are absolute SUPERSTARS! They give you follow-up calls to see how your pet is doing. They try their best during this "new normal" with timing and getting everyone in. I have probably gone here 10 times since Covid19 in March. Every service visit I've received has been A+! Thank you to all of you at MVPC!

I have been going to Mission Valley Pet Clinic for 13 years. All the employees, Vet Techs and Doctors really do care and want the best for you and your pet. I have traveled all over the world and I am always very excited when I can come back and See Melanie, Dr Klinger and Dr Green. I know no matter what, when I bring my babies in for check ups or serious issues that they are well taken care of and I never worry especially in these times where you have to hand off your pet during covid.

We recently lost one of our pets Marlon and so we wanted to give thanks and let everyone at Mission Valley Pet clinic know how grateful we are that he had such good care. So if your reading this review and you have any doubts.dont they are one of the best in San Diego

I can't start to say enough good things about this business. The Doctors and staff really care about your animals. They will go above and beyond for u and your pets. I recommend them to any one who really loves there pets. They will show the same love u have for your pets.

I really should have left this positive review years ago. Dr. Klinger & Dr. Green are wonderful veterinarians from their in depth knowledge, interactions with pets and very comforting people skills. The support staff is top notch making sure everything is running smooth and everyone is taken good care of. They all just "really care". It is so nice to know they are there for our furry family members!

Dr. Green and her staff have been a livesaver for my puppy Annie. She has had allergies that only affected her ears on and off since she was born. I have tried 3 other vets and they all only tested her for mites and put her on steroids. Dr. Green took amazing care of her and figured out that it was yeast! She changed her diet and gave her an allergy shot and her ears were better after only one day. It's been a few weeks now and Annie is 100%. Finally found our forever vet! Thank you Dr. Green!

Mission Valley Pet Clinic, its team, and vets are the very best in San Diego! I recently had the most horrific experience and thought I would lose my beloved fur-baby, Duchess Eloise (Shar-Pei), however MV saved her life. We were treated with the utmost care, love and support one can provide when a mom (me) runs in, panicked, scared and crying her eye-balls out.

I transferred my sweet girl from an emergency room, due to the high cost, and not only were they were able to accommodate her the same day, but at a fraction of the cost! They answered all of my questions and kept me informed throughout the day as to her well-being. They understood how frightened we both were and knew how important my sweet girl is to me.

I was called before and after her surgery, as well as once she woke up. Once she was home, they followed up with me daily to make sure she was doing well. I cannot express my gratitude to everyone at MV Pet Clinic and have officially found a home for my sweet girl after jumping around several vets due to the specialized nature of her breed.

I love this place! I went here for the first time today and the staff was so friendly. I could tell by my initial phone call to make an appointment they were going to be awesome, and they are! The office is super clean. The staff is awesome. And they handled my pup with care. She had to get an initial check-up and vaccines/dewormer. They gave her a lot of TLC.

I paid $200 for my visit today which included the vaccines, poo analysis, and the dewormer. I'm excited to have found such a good place! Can't wait to take my pup back!

I woke up last Friday and noticed my dog's eye was gunky and rolled back. I freaked out as any dog mom would so as soon as 8am hit I started calling vets in the area. Mission Valley Pet Clinic was able to take us in as early as 9am and I'm so happy we went with them. They were really friendly and nice to us. My dog was really comfortable and loved all the treats they fed her.

It turns out my dog had an eye infection so they were able to prescribe her with eye drops. We will definitely be coming back. Parking was easy too! They had spots in the front.

This place is wonderful and they all are very nice and professional and also very thoughtful. They take care of your pet like she/he is their family. I've never had great vet like this before. I had 14years old black Labrador had health issue and they took care so much of her. Unfortunately she passes away but they sent us a very thoughtful postcard and they even made her footprint clay for remembering her as memory. It's just how they take care of your pet I feel that they are great. I love this vet so much! Thank you, all of you!i can't thank enough.

To be fair, the vets here are great but really expensive. Duke's been seeing Dr. Green since he was a puppy and he loves to go to the vet because of Dr. Green. Unfortunately, despite being one of the most expensive vets I've gone to (it cost me $500 to find out Duke had pink eye and treat him last year), the office staff treatment is terrible.

I left today after they fit walk-in patients ahead of my dog after we waited 50 minutes and the office told us we had to wait longer. Last time I waited 40 minutes for my dog to see a vet tech, not the vet. Duke is hyper so I have to walk him while we wait and today he was panting so much from walking and waiting I finally said enough and left. I called Best Friends Veterinary in Poway and they got us in this afternoon. Very nice people but not worth the expense or traffic or all the wasted time I will never get back!
