Vaccination involves the injection of bacteria or viruses that are inactivated or modified to avoid causing actual disease in the horse. Two or more doses are usually needed to start a sufficient immune response. Once immunized, the horse produces protective antibodies which guard against the invasion of specific diseases.
Dental care is as important to your horse's overall health as is proper nutrition, hoof care and parasite prevention. Regular dental care is especially important for senior horses to maintain good dental health and extend their lives. Regular dental care is also important, and often overlooked, in younger horses.
Chiropractic care is extremely helpful for animals having problems involving the joints, muscles and nerves. Chiropractic addresses the mechanical causes of disease where the nerves are pinched by a stuck or rotated joint or by a tight muscle. This is called " A SUBLUXATION OR MISALIGNMENT". Chiropractic care offers a natural, drug-free adjunct to your horse's total health care.
Imaging in veterinary medicine has become much more advanced over the last couple years. These advancements have allowed doctors to more accurately diagnose and treat many medical conditions. Millhouse Veterinary Service offers a variety of imaging technologies that can be used to identify medical problems in our clients' horses.
Acute and chronic lameness can be evaluated by our veterinarians using routine medical practices and/or the application of eastern medicine. We offer conformation and gait evaluation using hoof testers, limb flexion, regional and intra-articular anesthesia as well as information gained from acupuncture and chiropractic evaluation.

I've been using Millhouse for my horse's veterinary needs for many years. Ed Millhouse figured out an injury for me years ago when another vet wanted to do additional tests and observation time. He also saved my horse when he foundered. Ed Millhouse has a lot of knowledge and common sense. I highly recommend him!

Super friendly, great sense of humor and super knowledgeable. He LOVES what he does! Many vets I know don't care as much as he does. He wants to help your horse the best way and doesn't shove drugs down their throats! Highly recommend!

Could not tell you how pleased I am with this veterinarian. I've got my first foal coming this spring and he made me feel extremely comfortable about it. He was knowledgeable about my hypp positive filly and had so many stories, words of wisdom and general advice. I think he's about as excited for my baby as I am. I know my horses are in good hands and I will not be switching vets. Couldn't recommend him enough!
