From Our Website
At Memorial Beach, we provide high quality, compassionate and progressive veterinary care from a staff that truly cares about you and your pets. We're passionate about looking after your pet, treating not just the scrapes and bruises of the day, but being there to help you navigate all the complexities of pet ownership. A UC Davis grad, Dr. Martha (Marty) Shafer has a background in zoological medicine with an emphasis on small animals/birds. When not in the Hospital, Marty can be found out-and-about with her two boys, enjoying exercising, walking, hiking, and yoga!
If you are looking to contact us about making an appointment, you can call (707) 433-6916 and we will be happy to help. Alternatively, you can make an online appointment here. Please visit our Contact Page for our address and other details. Memorial Beach has been serving the Healdsburg and Windsor areas for over 30 years! Taking over from the previous owners 5 years ago, Dr. Martha (‘Dr Marty') Shafer, has grown the practice into one of the most medically progressive, health, and well-being centered pet hospitals in the area.
Everyone needs to go to the doctor sometimes, even our furry (and not so furry) little friends! If your pet is experiencing any visible discomfort, has issues with vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, weight loss, low energy, or other issues you think might be making them uncomfortable, please call or make an appointment. Even if you aren't. Our annual Wellness Exams are designed to keep your loved ones in top physical and mental shape. A physical exam is accompanied by a review of vaccines and upcoming vaccine needs, preventative care options, diet and feeding plans, as well as parasite, flea, and Heartworm treatment options.
In this video, Kelly (our amazing and talented receptionist), guides you through trimming her dog's dark colored nails. This dremmel technique can be used for any type of nail, but is particularly helpful for dark nails because you are less likely to damage the quik, which can cause discomfort to your pet.
